Or Kannapolis, where he is expected to go.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Mar 29, 2011 -> 06:25 PM) Another one bites the dust. I was really high on him after his outstanding '08 season. See I never understood why people thought he was good. If you think his 08 season was 'outstanding' then I think that's where the difference begins. He showed power and didn't strike out a lot, but he didn't walk much and was slightly on the older end of the prospect age scale.

George Ofman just said on CTL that Illinois doesn't have the talent to do what Butler is doing. Not only does Illinois have good enough talent, it's a million times better than Butler. What a dope. -
Another position with a lot of similar players. Someone had to go to make room.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 29, 2011 -> 11:12 AM) UNC was incredibly overrated btw. 2 seed that won the ACC regular season title and played to its seed in the NCAA tourney. Not to mention earlier in the year they beat the team that knocked them out. Impossible for them to be overrated.

QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Mar 29, 2011 -> 12:47 PM) If Stevens' goal was to play in a major conference, he would have left for Oregon or Wake Forest last year. Oregon offered him damn near 2.5 million, and he laughed them off. Stevens makes real good money (about to make even more after his raise), and is coaching in the city he grew up in. The only jobs I could ever see him leaving for is Indiana/Duke. His dad played football at IU, and his mom used to teach there. He used to attend IU games regularly as a kid. If this is true, Indiana should dump Crean immediately. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 28, 2011 -> 06:16 PM) So, is Matt Painter using Missouri to get more money from Purdue, or is he jumping off the smoldering from bad recruiting the last 4 classes ship in West Lafayette before it turns into an all out fire? Ha believe me a lot of scarred Missouri fans (which, really, is redundant) are thinking it's the former. It's clear he is Mizzou's top choice. The question is how much interest Painter has. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 27, 2011 -> 06:57 PM) With the way Painter has recruited at Purdue the last few years, and losing Johnson and Moore.....I wouldn't be shocked at all if he got out while the getting is still good. That's the only thing I can see. He has no connections to Missouri. It doesn't make sense on his end unless Mizzou is offering a significant raise (and you have to assume they are otherwise why bother). -

Missouri has apparently contacted Painter. This would be a shock hire. One that I'm not even sure I'd like. Still probably not likely. If Martin believed the Purdue job would open he probably would have waited for that. I'm holding out hope for Shaka. -
Great info. Long's release makes sense because there is a logjam with starting pitchers. Someone had to go.

I don't think I've ever wanted a group to fail more than Indiana's 2012 class. The program is such a joke right now that the fanbase is drooling over high school juniors. Give me a break IU. -
QUOTE (JPN366 @ Mar 26, 2011 -> 05:11 PM) Seems like a bad idea to move Gonzalez up since he's so young and struggled in Kanny in 2010. Blanke seems like he could be pushed to High A and skip Low A. I hope Chase doesn't end up being Adam Ricks 2.0, that dude never gets to play. Please do keep bringing the news! I don't know if it would be a bad idea to move up Gonzalez. Pushing Blanke is risky too. Gonzalez put up similar numbers in rookie ball and he struggled so who knows.

Generally speaking when you're still dribbling at half court with 5 seconds left it's a dreadful possession that's going to fail. It blows my mind how many players/teams/coaches run that. The percentage of standing around and chucking is not good. Drive to the lane with 7-8 seconds left and see if something opens up. Florida just took a low percentage shot and didn't even give themselves a chance to get a rebound. That's completely inexcusable in my mind.

QUOTE (oldsox @ Mar 25, 2011 -> 09:24 PM) Can one of you computer savvy guys tell us how he did on 2010? Tks. Baseball reference Dreadful in Low A, moved to short season A ball and did better but not well. Not sure what happened to his K rate.

What happened to Salvador Sanchez and who is Drew Thompson?
-
How does Butler do it? This team is almost completely devoid of talent.

I think I'm going to wager a large margin against Arizona in the Elite 8. They are literally playing as well as they possibly can. That screams letdown to me.

You guys are crazy if you don't think Jimmer is a pro. If he doesn't take these big shots, the team isn't in the game at all. He's more than just a shooter. He can drive to the basket and either finish or get assists. He may not be a great pro, but he's certainly a very useful pro. Also, there's nothing worse losing a bet where you take the underdog, they go to OT and then don't cover the spread in OT. It feels wrong to lose a bet like that.

Having seen Bellamy in person in college, I could see how something could go wrong with his delivery and throw him into a funk. It's really bizarre. I'm hoping that's the problem and he just needs to get his form back.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Mar 23, 2011 -> 08:26 PM) Anything that puts another Big 12 school in rebuild mode while ISU stays quiet for an offseason is fine by me. Mizzou has a lot of seniors coming back. Even if a couple younger guys leave via transfer, they'll still be heavily expected to make the tourney. In fact, next year was supposed to be the best year under Anderson (in my eyes). That's what makes this really brutal. -

QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Mar 23, 2011 -> 05:16 PM) And Mizzou is looking at Cuonzo Martin. How on earth did you find this out before me? The announcement isn't even official on Anderson and they already have a rumored name? Geez, the coaching carousel is intense. -
QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Mar 23, 2011 -> 02:19 PM) "Like" That was a good read. I've been interested in Infante, Carter, Rodriguez, and Nunez for a while now. I'm hoping they make it to the majors. When Nunez got that call-up a few seasons back, I was expecting to see more of him on the major league team the following season, but it didn't happen. Thanks. Nunez was a bit of a disappointment. At this point, I'm thinking he's a AAAA guy. I probably should have focused on Carter more, a few people REALLY like him.

System Breakdown: Relievers It's not an especially exciting group, but there are enough decent talents to think 2-3 of them have some impact in the Majors.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Mar 23, 2011 -> 10:31 AM) Yup, Katz has taken the bold step of predicting Anderson goes to Arkansas.....unless he stays at Mizzou. This whole story is incredibly frustrating. I stopped following it because people were so sure Anderson was signing an extension. In fact, ESPN reported that and now they're saying he's likely going to Arkansas. So I'm supposed to believe them now because? -
QUOTE (knightni @ Mar 22, 2011 -> 05:24 PM) Firefly the TV show. Ewwww. There's a cult following for that show, but I can see why it got canceled. Let's fly around in space ships and then ride horses on land. WTF
