  1. QUOTE(Nokona @ Dec 4, 2005 -> 12:48 AM) If Conatn converst the layup SCheyeyr never scores his 560 potins and may ened up going to Illinois and fading into IHSA history as a merely a top national recruit. Just a thought... Let it go man. s*** happens. GBN stayed undefeated with a 54-47 win over reigning Tennessee state champ Ridgeway from Memphis. GBN never trailed and Scheyer had 36 points. One. Man. Team. Even last year's team was more balanced than this, but hey, they are winning.
  2. All the Scheyer hates have been proven wrong over time. I remember a couple years ago people were saying he wasn't that good for high school. Then he had arguably the best season of anyone last year and won the state title. Now he's going to Duke and people are saying he won't do well there. He is perfect for Duke. He's shown improvement every year. He's taking over more control of GBN this year, but he has shown he can be a great team player like his freshman year when they finished 3rd in state and he was with an all senior starting lineup other than him.
  3. Virginia ends the half with a 5-0 run but the Cats still lead 27-26 at the half. NU hasn't even hit a 3 yet and they are winning. Not to mention Cote and Thompson are out and Hachad is only playing limited minutes for some reason. How is this happening? Maybe the Big Ten will win. I'd like for the Big Ten to win 7-4 so the Miami and Va. Tech losses aren't the reason the ACC lost. It's looking possible, but Minnesota has blown their lead and is now down 5.
  4. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 05:00 PM) Can't wait to watch that NW game on ESPNU. Oh wait, no one has that channel. Yeah, thankfully we get it on campus for some reason. They just gave it to us a few weeks ago. UVA is up 19-16. Vukusic is the whole offense. Virginia has some nice talent, Leitao might be able to turn them into something in a year or 2.
  5. QUOTE(YASNY @ Nov 29, 2005 -> 09:01 AM) The is going to be a "Hoops Fest" at a local high school. There will be 8 state champion playing, including Oak Hill Academy. Roy Williams, Bob Huggins and Tommie Amaker, among others, are expected to attend. Any of you hoops junkies in So. Illinois might want to come down to western KY Saturday. GBN is gonna be there.
  6. QUOTE(knightni @ Nov 28, 2005 -> 11:26 AM) As many as the schedule that was made in 1998 allowed them to. Why blame ND for the other teams' declines? How is it ND's fault that nearly half of their 2006 opponents went from bowl eligible in 2005 to the proverbial cellar in '06? I'm sorry that argument is pure bulls***. It's not about how tough of a schedule you tried to schedule, it's all about how tough your schedule was. Strength of schedule is merely about proving how good you are, not who has the balls to schedule tough teams.
  7. There was an article on Jon Scheyer in ESPN the Magazine. I read the article and thought it was kinda s***ty. They called it a Hickoryesque state title, I was a little offended. The article focused on how he 'betrayed' Illinois by going to Duke. Believe me I hate Duke, but it's hard to turn them down, especially when you grow up a Duke fan as a kid like Scheyer. Meanwhile, the Spartans are 4-0 after sweeping the Lake-Cook Thanksgiving Tournament. Scheyer has scored over 30 in all 4 games and is averaging around 35 I think.
  8. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 27, 2005 -> 12:07 PM) Penn State>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>ND. Penn St. blows dude. They'll prove it in their BCS game.
  9. ND is a pretty damn good team. With that said, it wouldn't surprise me to see them 5-3 in the Big Ten. OSU beats em easy. MSU already did. Penn St. is way overrated, ND would clean them out if that's the BCS matchup. I could see one of Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota, or Northwestern beating ND. The thing is when you are playing good teams on a weekly basis you can't have a bad game and get away with it. 5-3 in the Big Ten is pretty good, I don't know how you can say ND is 7-4 when you don't know what games you are cutting out of the schedule left for non-conference. I think ND is a good team as much as I hate to admit it. I should add that I'm not saying they would go 5-3 in Big Ten play, but it wouldn't surprise me. I would expect 6-2 to be honest, which is still worthy of a top 15 ranking in the country if not higher.
  10. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Nov 27, 2005 -> 12:09 AM) I think what hurts the most for Heads is the fact that they lost to Kansas with their starting QB out. OUCH. If it makes you feel any better, UIC lost to St. Xavier(NIAA team) in basketball, at our home opener. As Heads knows the losing to a backup QB is nothing new. Chase Daniel is the s*** and I own you. If it makes you feel any better I have 3 words for you: Sam. Houston. State.
  11. Heads my condolences if you didn't off yourself yet. You said you'd wait for me to get back, well I'm back at 2:45 in the morning but I doubt you waited for me after ISU basketball got killed by a school that resembles Iowa if only by name lol.
  12. Hey Heads, how fun is it to root for a choke job of a school? I'd be contemplating suicide if I were you right now. You must have a nice life. Oh God, I love being an ass.
  13. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Nov 26, 2005 -> 02:43 PM) Lou Holtz just lisped that "Iowa State is now the dominant program in the state of Iowa" Oops. This is freaking hilarious. Heads where the f*** are you? Your school blows and I own you.
  14. Watching this game is making my eyes hurt. The sad thing is that there is nothing better on until FSU Florida starts up, which is now.
  15. The Bulls didn't even play that well down the stretch. They made a few big baskets, but it just seemed that the Spurs weren't playing good D and their offense was downright awful. With that said the Bulls played well to stay ahead the whole game to get to the point where the Spurs only had to make a few mistakes for the game to be over.
  16. I would love to see Iowa St. lose to Kansas for the mere reason that I am a sedistic human being. Seeing Iowa St. blow the Big 12 North back to back seasons on the last game of the year against an inferior opponent would make me laugh...a lot. That and I wouldn't mind seeing Colorado win the North even though I hate Barnett. This way they are the ones that get embarrased on national tv.
  17. QUOTE(Randar68 @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 08:58 AM) Aaron Rowand is not going to be the starting CF'er in 2006. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 06:06 PM) Aaron Rowand = A White Sox and he's not going to be going anywhere, you can take that to the bank. Randar 1, Jason 0. QUOTE(Randar68 @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 03:57 PM) Rowand will not be the centerpiece in any big deal, he's just not that valuable. Partial credit?
  18. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Nov 21, 2005 -> 10:54 PM) Actually, they're fans do travel pretty well, even to Detroit. They sellout their allotments of tickets rather easily, something that the bigger schools don't necessarily do if they are in a smaller bowl game. The difference is that they don't have the TV ratings of larger schools. I don't think that Iowa does much better than we do, and OSU isn't really an issue since they will probably be in a BCS bowl. The teams that will be bigger factors in us sliding down the bowl list are Wisconsin and Michigan. NU is already behind Wisconsin and Michigan. That's a no doubter in my mind. It's unfortunate, but a lock.
  19. QUOTE(J-MAN @ Nov 21, 2005 -> 09:34 AM) Who you crapping - we met most of the bowl representatives at our last home game and they all want NU!!!! Since going to bowl games is still relatively new to NU fans they sell their ticket allotment and the NU fans spend money!!!! If only that were true. NU just isn't big enough to compete with Iowa, OSU, and Michigan in terms of drawing,
  20. QUOTE(farmteam @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 06:09 PM) *Waits for danman to start pumping the Scheyer love* Reigning state champs and nationally ranked motherf***ers!!
  21. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Nov 7, 2005 -> 12:52 PM) Suddenly, 7-2 Colorado looks a ton better when you consider their losses - Miami and Texas. Have fun stopping Vickers and their TEs. Typical Gary Barnett team. Pound the f***ing football until the other team cries for mercy.
  22. QUOTE(qwerty @ Nov 5, 2005 -> 05:52 PM) Comcast is just as s***ty imo. I would probally rank comcast higher because wayne larrivee's stupid annoying ass is not on there. Yeah, I prefer Comcast with Dore, but in college I don't get Comcast Chicago. (Why the f*** am I in Missouri again?) This f***ing sucks, at least the Bulls are winning.
