QUOTE(redandwhite @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 01:12 AM) New Trier completely outplayed GBN but only won 19-9. 3-1, Evanston on saturday. How bad is our QB? The sad thing is that our O line might be better this year than last year's 11-1 team and our offense still is terrible. Our starting QB wasn't even on the team last year...and he's a senior. -
QUOTE(whitesoxgt @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 08:05 PM) Has anyone heard bout the catcher the sox drafted named Donny (donald) Lucy he was supposed to be good and maybe be a backup if not starting catcher in 2-3 years. Ive heard nothing from him and getting scared that he might have been a dissapointment b'cuz we need a catcher who can hit. i like widger and all but we could do a lot better than that cant we? Lucy hit .264, .353, .309 in low A Kannapolis. He had a rocky year. He started cold then got on a roll and finished the year in a slump to have his number drop to where they finished.

The I's won 12-5 tonight in game 3 of the SAL championship series. Cook had his 3rd HR of the series. 2 hits for Getz, Smith, King, and Ricks (4 RBI). Harrell left early, but Perez pitched 3.2 shutout innings. A 6 inning 4th sparked the win. They lead the best of 5 series 2-1. Box Score

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 12:47 PM) Wow, the ISU D never let Iowa within the 26. Hey Heads, get a hold of yourself. You win one f***ing game and you are posting a dozen times about it. Stop bragging, you know Iowa is superior in, oh, everything! -

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Sep 10, 2005 -> 11:12 PM) AS would Vanderbilt in the SEC. Now back to reality............ Yeah but NU has won 3 Big Ten titles in the last 10 years. QUOTE(chimpy2121 @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 12:10 AM) I just wish NIU had a defense NU has a freaking amazing offense. That Sutton (i think he's only a freshman?) guy is going to be a good one. He looks better than Hart IMO. At least one positive besides our offense was that our fans came damn close to outdrawing NU fans. Sutton is a freshman, yes. -

Go Northwestern! f*** NIU!!! Meanwhile I ditched Mizzou at halftime because our defense was worse than Northwestern's...I didn't know that was possible. -

Where's Chimpy? I assumed he'd be ready to trash talk Northwestern after I said NIU was overrated and NU would trounce em. 24-14 at the half, 21 straight Wildcat points. -
That's it I've had it. Stop this bulls*** about K/BB ratio. It's not the end all be all. Liotta has stuff to work on like any other prospect. If he didn't he'd be in the Majors. He deserves to be right there with the others.

Anyone watching this tennis match?
danman31 replied to WilliamTell's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I was happy to see Agassi win, hopefully he can go out a winner. In my mind the bigger deal is that fellow American Robby Ginepri is in the semis as well. It's annoying that the Americans keep beating each other, doesn't truely show how well we can do on hard court. -
Where will Sox will rank in minor league talent?

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 06:28 PM) Everyone around here keeps sayingi that the Dodgers belong somewhere in that list. They probably do, they were ranked 2 going into the season. -
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 07:06 PM) I'm kinda sad that the season is over. Playoffs my man. Birmingham and Kannapolis are in, Winston-Salem I don't know because they are tied.

QUOTE(chimpy2121 @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 06:16 PM) How is the parking situation up at Northwestern? Pretty s***ty. You can park in one of the lots that has the shuttles, but those come at long time intvervals. It's too risky to try unless you are really early. Plus, it's not cold so a little walk won't hurt ya (Penn St. game last year, took the shuttle and stood around waiting for it to avoid walking, kinda bit us in the ass). Try parking on a sidestreet and find out where you are. The best way to go is sidestreets, but they will be packed.

QUOTE(3E8 @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 09:38 PM) Romero (6th) is doing pretty well with all the innings, but Townsend (8th) seems to be doing poorly. Townsend is a different case though. He didn't pitch in college last year because he lost his eligibility and didn't sign with the Orioles at the same time.

QUOTE(bmags @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 08:36 PM) lighten up...this is the kids big showcase and he had a 73 yard run for a touchdown against the number 4 team in the country...he had a right to be excited.... Excited is one thing, but trash talking the crowd when you are losing is just dumb. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 08:44 PM) Dan, will that game be on TV, and in-case a Cubs game is on WGN Radio, what station is the NU game on? Do you know? ESPN.com says it will be on ESPN Classic, which I don't have in Missouri. -
The Mexican team on the field tonight didn't look very good around the goal like they usually do. They were pretty solid in set ups, but when they got close yuck.

Wolfe is a f***ing prick though. I was watching the game and then started flipping once Michigan got the first TD. I come back to see the Big House dead silent as NIU lines up for an extra point. I see the NIU bench all stoked and I see Wolfe putting his finger to his mouth as if to quiet the crowd. Last time I had looked I figured it was 7-3 so I figured NIU had to be winning. They finally show the score and it's 14-10 Michigan. Wolfe was telling the crowd to be quiet and they were losing? What a dumbass. Hopefully Northwestern f***s up NIU next weekend. -

QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 11:18 AM) Niles West is easy, as is Niles North, thats 2 wins. Highland Park is a win. Maine South and New Trier will be tough as hell. Waukegan cant even be counted as a f***ing team. Worst case I say 7-2. With loses to New Trier and Maine South.. things go well and we go 9-0. CSL North has only 3 good teams this year. Us, New Trier and Maine South. 1. Highland Park is not easy, they will be decent as always. 2. Maine South will destroy you, no way you win at their place, no way. 3. You play in the CSL South. -

The Wisconsin-Bowling Green game is freaking awesome. They each scored TDs in the last minute of the first half and it's 35-35. Northwestern 31, Ohio 7, 3rd Missouri 44, Central Arkansas St. Penitentiary Team (aka Arkansas St) 0 That's. Right. b****es. -
Since there are so few games in September I'm just going to lop August and September together.

QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 10:28 AM) They returned Visoky, Roberts and Blue all from a playoff team. Dont tell me they arent good this year. Blue is overrated and our QB sucks ass. They'll be decent this year, but last year's team was senior heavy with some stud complementary juniors. I'll be surprised if they make the playoffs with their schedule. New Trier should beat us, Maine South will beat us, and Deerfield, Highland Park, and Maine West will all be tough conference games. I'll be surprised if GBN makes the playoffs this year. I'm thinking GBS will go into conference play 4-0 because the rest of their schedule sucks ass (unless they changed it this year) and then struggle in conference to 5-4 or 6-3, making the playoffs and losing early. -
QUOTE(daa84 @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 10:37 AM) id make a new thread for this....its noteworthy and i think alot of people will pass it over since its in the around the minors thread. any mods wanna make it a new one? It's really not that noteworthy though.

3 White Sox lefties make BA's Hot Sheet Haigwood at 12, Liotta 15, Gio 18. However, the Angels had the top 2, 3 of the top 4, and 5 on the list of 20.

QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 02:07 PM) Glenbrook South Titans (4-5) beat the Glenbrook North Spartans (9-0) by a score of 21-26. Tommy Gochis rushes for 121 Yards and 2 TD's and Sophomores Sean Progar (2 TD's) and QB Ryan McGrath (8/15 1 TD 116 Yards) all shine in thier Varsity debuts. I'm telling you, Titans are a team to look out for. No, GBN just sucks this year.
