QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 02:20 AM) I actually am not on facebook, all my friends are on the damn thing and I've refused to do it. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 11:54 PM) ^^ I see it as a great timekiller, nothing else. That's how I feel about it. Everybody I know does it, but I don't see exactly what it does. One of my friends said it was a way to meet people but you aren't meeting them. You're just putting your name on lists and such.

CS1- you're going to be a sophomore in high school this year right? If so, that's way too early to think about college. So many things will change (your goals, grades, test scores, etc). You may think you know what you want know but it can change. Going into my sophomore year I thought I knew what I wanted to go to college for and that has changed since. Also, you have little idea what schools you will be able to get into as you have to make your grades and such. With that said it doesn't hurt anyone to simply think about it.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 05:48 PM) Don't the Tigers have another guy? I think his name is Joel Zumaya? I've read that he's pretty sick. Yeah, but for reasons that I don't know most experts believe he will transition to relief at some point. Future closer maybe?

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 01:36 PM) Warren will be dominated by New Trier I would hope. New Trier is too big to be as bad at football as they've been in recent years. -
Charlotte lost 5-4. BMac with a good start, but he gave up a HR in the 8th and then left with a runner on that later scored the tying run. His line: 7.1 IP, 4 R, 6 K, 1 BB, 6 hits, 2 HR. Casanova 3-3 with a walk and 2 HR. Gload 2-5. Box Score Birmingham won 3-2. 3 hits for Owens, 2 for Young. Barons 24-14 in the 2nd half. Box Score Winston-Salem is off. Kanny won 5-4. 2 hits for Smith, Getz, Hansen, and Cook (HR #18). Kanny 24-15. Box Score Great Falls lost 3-2. Richard with another good start. Box Score Bristol lost 3-2. Acosta with a HR. Cortes with a decent start. Box Score

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 12:37 AM) They should leave Sanchez in the #3 spot down in Bristol for a while. He's had some of his best games there, rather than the #2 and #6 hole. Sanchez is practically Chris Young II. He doesn't walk as much, but from what we've seen so far he's a power hitting CF with a low average, good speed, and a lot of K's. Young, when 18 and in his first pro season, hit .217/.308/.380. with 13 doubles, 1 triple, 5 HR, and 7/15 in stolen base attempts in 184 at-bats. Sanchez is off to a better start in terms of average, but has almost the exactly same amount of extra base hits with a similar amount of ABs. Sanchez in 168 ABs has 13 doubles, 1 triple, and 4 HRs. Sanchez 12/12 in steals is definitely very impressive and speed looks like a more important factor for him than Young. The biggest difference is that Young walks more, but he has drawn more walks as he has progressed through the minors as do most players. It will be interesting to see how he develops.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 6, 2005 -> 11:15 PM) What about Shingo though? That would have created a spot. I'll go the WhiteSox.com and count. Blum would've replaced Meaux, too, because if I recall, he was on the 40. I just counted earlier today.
-
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 6, 2005 -> 11:03 PM) I have no idea either. I mean, I believe w eonly have 39 on there, so I would guess that they wouldn't move him unless they needed more room. We had 39 when we took Honel off the 40-man. Since then we've dropped Shingo from the 40-man and picked up Wing and Blum. It's full right now.

Konerko Scott Pod Buehrle Iguchi White Sox! 71 wins...wow.

QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Aug 6, 2005 -> 04:04 PM) Call it a hunch but I think we're going to see Ben "Big Daddy" Davis this september to rest the catching core.... Bad hunch. He's out for the year with Tommy John surgery.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 10:40 PM) Good start for Dan's man Munoz, only giving up 1ER in 5IP but with 6BB's and 2K's. Whisler with a good start by his standards this season, only giving up 4ER in 6.1IP, with 2BB's and 4K's. Gotta love that WHIP for Munoz tonight. :rolly Meanwhile, Whisler was left in too long. I know, I know, here Dan goes stat chopping in order to make Whisler sound good. Still, if he doesn't go out for the 7th his line looks like this: 6 IP, 1 R, 4 K, 1 BB, 5 hits. I'll take that anyday of the week. Great Falls lost 6-1. Hernandez went yard, going 2-3 on the night. Box Score
-
Gotta love Adam Russell back in the Kanny rotation after missing a start or 2. Great Falls won 15-6.Box Score

Is it just me or does the Score670 suck now?

QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 01:34 PM) I hear you, man. The commercials drive me nuts as well. Football talk in late July/early August doesn't bother me, though. The first preseason game is less than a week away, and football talk is going to get the most ratings right now IMO. Are you a Bears fan? You don't think that they deserve any talk? You're not excited about that defense despite the lack of depth at CB and LB? I understand the football talk, like I said you gotta live with it if you don't like it. However, the TO story is definitely over the top. As for the Bears, no, I'm not a Bears fan. I couldn't support a team that wouldn't put a winning product on the field. They may be decent this year, but to be honest I don't think they are as good as everyone around here hypes them to be. This generally speaking, a year to year thing, not necessarily this year. I'm sick of them being 4-6 and everyone talking playoffs. -

The Score is garbage and football talk in July/August is disgusting but you gotta live with it. The commercials are what drive me insane. Besides that, the Bears don't deserve any talk since they are a joke of an NFL franchise. -
Did any Kanny guys get mentioned in yesterday's best SAL tools?

Barons lose 10-3. 2 hits for Owens, Blakely, and Stewart. Young 1-4 with a double, run, BB, SB, 2 Ks. Ahh, that's the Chris Young we all know and love. Phillips got rocked. Box Score

Sox possibly to face most touted prospect since...
danman31 replied to maggsmaggs's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I'll be selfish and say I just want to see the guy pitch. With that said, he might own us. Bring him on though. 1st ML start he might be a little wild. -
Knights win 6-1 behind BMac, who continues to roll over AAA since getting sent back down. 7 IP, 1 R, 3 K, 4 BB, 2 hits. Low K's and high walks for him but only 2 hits. Call it effectively wild? I'll take it regardless. Box Score Hogs lost 6-3. Schnur 2-4. Collaro hit his 25th HR. Great start from Rodriguez ruined by an awful relief appearance from Dizard. Box Score Kanny got slaughtered 11-0. Getz 1-3 with a double. Box Score Bristol lost 4-3. Box Score

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 01:05 AM) Fine, quote = gone. But I listened to it and thought it was too funy. My bad... It is funny but your stupid club is taking up room.

Yeah, get rid of the quotes or the club since I doubt you want to get rid of your image.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 09:50 PM) Burrus? The other guy in the top 5 in the league in steals. Duh. :rolly -
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 10:29 PM) Because it's the general consensus within the Tampa organization right now. Tampa has plenty of outfielders, and they'd rather build around Crawford and Young than Rocco. Ok but why Boston?
