  1. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 11:48 PM) It's his first season about low A ball, I'd too like to see Young repeat AA for at least a month or 2 next season, although I know you like to move prospects up quicker than us Dan. Says the man who wanted Micah Schnurstein promoted to Bham if Fields wasn't in the way. :rolly

    Wouldn't lingerie be underwear?
  3. QUOTE(Yossarian @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 02:16 PM) I very much appreciate the work I really do. That being said if Brandon McCarthy is our hottest prospect well then ........ our system leaves a lot to be desired. Brandon had no place being in the majors this year. Plain and simple. It was questionable to start him in Charlotte. He struggled there and then was brought up. We think that he'll turn it around with a new outlook next year, a fresh start so to speak. He'll be back, he wasn't ready to begin with. As for hottest prospect, that's probably Chris Young. He's the new hotness.
  4. QUOTE(Soxfest @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 03:12 PM) FLA got the meat
  5. QUOTE(Randar68 @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 10:03 AM) Why should he go to Charlotte? Why wouldn't the organization like to see what he could do coming back to AA if only for a couple months? Frankly, I would like to see if he can be a .280-.300 hitter consistently in AA before even thinking about moving him to Charlotte or Chicago. JMO. Also, do people still really like Adam Ricks as a prospect? Let me know when his slugging % tops .300... I don't know, I just think that repeating after a monster season sends a negative message. And don't let my sig fool you. I just like Adam Ricks, nothing towards his status as a prospect.
  6. So for the NHL fans out there...did they have a draft for the 04-05 season? If no does that mean 2 years worth of players are in this draft?
  7. I might actually watch this. I love sports lotteries.
  8. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 11:05 PM) Micah's on pace for what, a 40 error season? Way to shut Jason down!
  9. The only reason Young should stay in AA would be because of an injury. I see no reason why he should be repeating.
  10. QUOTE(knightni @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 05:14 PM) That's one HUUUGE sig. Yeah, I'm resizing it.
  11. The SAL is a pitchers' league while Winston-Salem plays in a hitters' park. Like I said, he needs to hit in AA before it means anything IMO.
  12. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 12:43 AM) Not with the current circumstances at least, but I'd like to see how he would handle AA ball, he's been stuck in low A and high A for a few seasons now. He spent one year in low A and is in his 1st in high A. He hasn't set the world on fire with any of his stats. He's a decent prospect. If he can keep this production up in AA, he'll rocket up the charts in my book. I just don't think he's that good.
  13. Schnur just missed our top 20. It was between him, Fabio, and Collaro. We went with pure power potential with Collaro.
  14. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 12:37 AM) What's the deal with Rogo, is he stuck in bham the rest of the year now with Daigle getting promoted to charlotte? Maybe the Sox just want to take it slowly with him. Daigle has been playing a lot of 3B so he has nothing to do with it. Kanny got rained out.
  15. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 10:36 PM) Schnurstein's also an interesting guy to look at. He's ready for B-Ham, but stuck behind Josh Fields, so we prob won't see him there until next season. Has splits of .286/.355/.450 with 12 HR. I don't see the need to promote him anyway.
  16. You know before the page loaded and I saw the headline "Bears sell Bobby M. Jones' contract to White Sox" I thought we had a football convert.
  17. Rochester @ Charlotte 6:15 Munoz Birmingham lost to Jacksonville 9-3. Tracey struggled, but Malone with good relief. Box Score Winston-Salem @ Lynchburg 6:05 Gio Kannapolis @ Columbus 6 Casper @ Great Falls 8 Bristol has a doubleheader against 22-4 Elizabethton (Twins).
  18. Midseason Top 20 Prospects: 10-1 FutureSox ranks the top 10 White Sox prospects By FutureSox Staff We have come out with new prospect rankings for the midseason and we're presenting them a little differently. Like the rest of the top 20 we are using numerical ratings to rate the players. The content is still there, however we have decided to write a little more about players' potential rather than their minor league stats. In addition, we have rated each of the top 20 from 1-10 on their potential and given our best guess and the chances they stick in the bigs for an extended period of time. more...
  19. BA has a new prospect hot sheet out, Anderson in at #8.
  20. I'll get the top 10 out tomorrow sometime (or technically later tonight since it's already the next day, whatever).
  21. f***. No. Besides, you know how Jason and I feel about gorges of press releases clogging up the site.
  22. Hawk saying "GAS!" brings back good memories. I luuuv Bobby Jenks.
  23. Baseball America is only good if you want to follow minor league or college baseball. I find it interesting, but they don't cover the Majors...at all.
