  1. Tell me about it. Here at the University of Missouri I'm waiting for someone to be from KC and I'll ask if they are a Royals fan. If they say yes I'm going to say I'm sorry. Not that surprising, none have come out of the woodwork yet.
  2. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 01:09 AM) Did Lance Donovan or Freddy Adu play? It's Landon. Stick to American sports...

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 11:43 AM) Definately not. So hows Mizzu treating ya? You already hook up with your sis or cousin? I'm still in the hotel. I'm moving in today, which I could have already done but I slept in...good times.

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 10:13 AM) This is a great thread...didn't see it till today...I think we all can figure out mine...The Kreuker it is. Believe me, that's not embarrasing.
  5. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 10:46 PM) Garland is the same way when he's going good. He makes it look easy in the early innings and gets lots of ground balls, but struggles late in the game with lots of flyballs. Yep. This Article from thebaseballanalysts.com talked about him and his sinkerballing so I decided to check out his groundball/flyball etc.
  6. According to the log Sweeney got HBP in his 2nd plate appearance, stayed to run the bases (stayed at 1st anyway) and was taken out the next half inning. Important thing to note on Tracey tonight: He allowed 1 flyball in his first 6 innings. According to the logs the hits were either line drives or ground balls. He's a sinkerballer and needs to stay with that. He did get 2 flyouts in his last inning the 7th, which could be attributed to fatigue.
  7. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 10:41 PM) How old is Zumaya? He's put up some filthy stats this year... 143 K's in about 107 IP at Erie, and 34 K's in (about) 27 IP at Toledo. OTOH, he's walking a guy every two innings. I believe the walks are why I keep hearing relief is in his future. They just want to get him innings. The announcers in the Futures Game talked about that in decent length when he was pitching.
  8. QUOTE(daa84 @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 10:36 PM) i saw marte as high as number 3 or 4 on some lists earlier, hanley ramirez you are right on. he could be the most overrated prospect in the game. all the boston hype has him as being great, but i see nothing in his numbers that would suggest so. maybe he could be a ryan sweeney type guy where his numbers dont tell the story, but we shall see. any bets on how long itll be before sweeney goes yahtzee? Ramirez is just awesome on defense though.
  9. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 09:09 PM) Yeah keep talking about them. Pretty soon you'll stop worrying about other teams are start worrying about Boston passing us up in 1st place for the AL. :sleep 10

    Celebrity Crush

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 10:10 PM) For some reason i always had a crush on these 2 actresses: Milla Jovovich and LeeLee Sobieski The reason you have a crush on Milla Jovovich is because she's hot. Not an embarrasing crush.
  11. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 06:09 PM) This is the sole player which stuck out as producing immediately out of his callup. Singleton slipped my mind, however Lee/Ordonez (as I recall) took a few months to begin heating up. If Anderson could hit above .300 his limited AB's for this this club over final two months it'd be a welcomed addition. Too many slump prone players. If you're looking for him to hit above .300 you can just start hating him now. It's not gonna happen. The odds of him going Francoeur on us are just insanely low. At best he'll hover around .280-.290, but I'm expecting more in the .260s or .270s. He should draw walks at a decent rate and bring some servicable power.
  12. QUOTE(Mr. Chairman @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 06:35 PM) Unfair to ask Jerry Owens to jump from low-Aball all the way into ML in just over a year. You mean like Brandon McCarthy?
  13. QUOTE(Mr. Chairman @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 06:55 PM) It's a combination of age, stuff, projectability and mental intangibles. Fair enough, hard to argue with that. However, Gio's mental intangibles are definitely in question.
  14. Royals lose a doubleheader and the magic number falls to 11.

    Celebrity Crush

QUOTE(juddling @ Aug 14, 2005 -> 12:24 AM) If anyone ever watches the BBC channel specifically the show "Coupling" then they would know about Sarah Alexander. She is definitely on my top 5 list. juddling Not embarrasing, but she is freaking gorgeous. She's pure wow, and her character is pretty sexy too. That show is actually good, which I find slightly disturbing because I hate British humor and British accents. QUOTE(dasox24 @ Aug 14, 2005 -> 11:14 PM) Stiller's not that bad looking. Plus, he's really funny, which is a big thing for the women. It's not looks, he just creeps me out. I don't find him funny, just stupid, and I think he's nuts.

    Celebrity Crush

QUOTE(GBlum27 @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 10:21 PM) I don't really get s*** for loving her but not many people talk about her. Christine Taylor I agree, but it grosses me out that she's with Ben Stiller. That's just disgusting. So I guess, in a way, she is an embarrasing crush of mine.
  17. QUOTE(farmteam @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 04:43 PM) JA Happ? He's pretty good. I saw him duel Glen Perkins (Twins, 1st round) last year. Good curveball, good movement, IIRC. 2nd round pick out of Northwestern. I've been following him because of that and he's been pretty solid. He was hurt so he hasn't seen much work this year, but he has had only success as a pro.
  18. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 02:50 PM) Didnt BA have felix at number 2 also? BA had Felix #2 because of his bursitis. They said that was the only reason he wasn't #1.
  19. BMac with a 7 inning CG shutout. Think he's figured out AAA hitters yet? Gload with a HR, Anderson 1-3 with a run. Knights 7, Braves 0 Haeger also fires a CG shutout. Young from the leadoff spot had no official ABs, just 4 walks, 3 runs, SB. I love him. Barons 6, Stars 0 Rodriguez fires a CG shutout (7 innings due to doubleheader). Schnur 2-3 with a HR. Warthogs 6, Keys 0 Game 2: Valido 2-4. Moat rocked.Keys 11, Warthogs 4 Cook 3-5, HR. Getz, Hansen 2 hits each. Brooks with a very meh start.BlueClaws 6, Intimidators 3 Hernandez 4-5, he's on fire. HRs for Allen, Schmidt, and Castillo. Richard with a so-so start. Sox 9, Raptors 3 Cunningham and Welker both 2-4 with a HR. Sanchez, Acosta, Tavares 2 hits each. Sox 7, Astros 1
  20. The season isn't over yet, but I was reading this again and it was a good read. I figure it's worth a bump. Overall everyone did pretty well, other than everyone wanting to pick Adam Ricks.
  21. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 09:48 PM) Chris Young with another HR... average up to .279 What's the over under on him passing Sweeney in terms of average? .278* but I'm gonna predict the 22nd.
  22. BMac at 33 was reasonable. I just don't know how Felix was at 2 and not 1.
  23. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 11:07 AM) I know it's not cool on this board to say you hate the Cubs.....but I HATE THE f***ING CUBS! What are you talking about?
  24. Anderson 5-5* He's raised his average about 10 points today. Ok guys, you don't have to give me dap all at once but that's the 3rd time this year Russell has taken a no-no deep into a game. This time 6.2 in. Not to mention no walks. He's the freaking man!
