***Pistons vs. Bulls 1/3/05***
danman31 replied to KevHead0881's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jan 3, 2005 -> 09:51 PM) Bulls should of won and they played the worse game I've seen from them in a month or so. You obviously missed the Milwaukee game. Gordon has to learn when to pass the freaking ball, he is pissing me off. This shows how valuable Curry is. He is so freaking good on the offensive end. Chandler is garbage, I don't see why people love him so much. He is a level above stiff in my book. -
Thanks for posting that, though I must admit I put no stock at all in winter league play.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 2, 2005 -> 12:53 PM) I gotta say I am intreagued to see that there was no interest in BMac. I wonder if we have him overrated, or Beane was just looking for someone a little closer to the majors? I am thinking more that he doesn't want to risk Hudson or Mulder on a guy who has not proven himself at even AA. Also I keep reading that people are worried to rate BMac too high based on one year. I don't think we are overrating him as much as other people, especially when trading ace pitchers away in Beane's case, are going to be more cautious.

Who will have more wins by Jan 2?
danman31 replied to Gene Honda Civic's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I voted Bulls, but that was mainly because I think the Bears are one of the worst teams in the NFL. Funny thing is that when I was saying that back in the day, you all b****ed me out. Now 5-11 is your proof, lmao. The NFC Title game thread, wow, just wow. Ahh good times. -
And now.. your 2004-05 Minnesota Vikings!

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jan 2, 2005 -> 04:15 PM) They suck, you have nothing to worry about. They do suck but if that offense totally clicks for one game they could probably beat anyone in the league. That's what worries me. -

I'm a little worried about the Rams. They are the kind of dangerous team I don't want to see in the playoffs as a Falcons fan. -
Young is good and all, but damn Vick is a horrible throwing QB and you say he is not as good of a runner. If Young was a better runner than he must either be the worst throwing QB known to man or he would be able to run around NFL defenders the way Vick does. :rolly I guess I'll back down. Then again we are dealing with all biased opinions here so whatever.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jan 2, 2005 -> 02:10 AM) I think the sox will be a fun team to watch in the 2005 season. Fun as in different if you ask me. Is it possible to be sick of the longball? Chicks do dig it after all. -

Exactly what was said in the above 2 posts is how I feel. This is the same thing I've been saying, not necessarily on here, about Willie Harris. I gave it a name by the first guy that I implemented it on: The Willie Harris Factor. Basically it says that if Willie hits .270-.280 his speed will make him so valuable to this team. Scott Pod will be more valuable because he has more speed. I'd love to see Harris and Scott Pod hit well and tear up the basepaths next year. -
QUOTE (greasywheels121 @ Jan 2, 2005 -> 01:09 AM) For the reasons stated above and she's playing softball in Chicago. The 2nd part it what I was looking for. I didn't know that.

Wow I got to reading that thread and check this from Jason, "But I did think that a few guys were rated a little low, for example Bobby Jenks is a top top prospect, imo." Well, we got him now.

Why is Jennie Finch on the list?

The current standings are updated with tiebreakers. William Tell clinched the title after Texas won the Rose Bowl. Unfortunately this leaves no drama, but people can still cheer for other places.

QUOTE (Gene Honda Civic @ Jan 1, 2005 -> 11:52 AM) I voted for LA -- most of the others were PR photos -- The LA one actually captured baseball at it's best. Yeah I love fan reaction shots. One of my favorite photos of all time is the MJ one when he beat the Jazz in game 6 of the 98 finals. A few Bulls fans jumping up and down, a few Jazz fans covering their faces as the shot goes in the air. I see something new everytime I look at that shot.

QUOTE (Man Of Steel @ Jan 1, 2005 -> 07:46 PM) He might be a better runner than Vick though, he gets out of so many tackles.. Oh wow, listen to yourself! That's hilarious! Vick was way better in college and led his team to the national title game as a freshman. That's probably the most ridiculous thing you have said.

QUOTE (Man Of Steel @ Jan 1, 2005 -> 07:58 PM) You must have missed JaMarcus Russell come in and dominate.. he only threw like 3 incompletions.. He was very good, but he didn't play much of the game. Currently Utah is dominating Pitt. Unfortunately this only proves Utah is a surefire top 15 team. I think they are top 10 at the least and deserved a shot to prove as much. As far as I'm concerned Utah is a co-national champ for having an undefeated season, assuming they hang onto it. -
You add a Texas sig while they are in the Rose Bowl. I'm asking if you are jumping on the bandwagon.

QUOTE (DBAH0 @ Jan 1, 2005 -> 06:04 AM) A Crow Left To The Murder by Incubus It's 'A Crow Left of the Murder' and I thought the album was not that great. A few good songs, but I was very disappointed in it. I only bought 4 CDs in the new year considering Hoobastank's Reason officially came out in 03 even though I bought it in early 04. Start Something by the Lost Prophets- I think I love just about every song on there. My favorite album yet. Nothing else I bought really deserved mention. ACLOTM and Futures by Jimmy Eat World were ok, but not great or anything. Futures is just too slow and could use a reorder of the songs. That's why I use the mix feature of my CD player. Otherwise the 2nd half of the CD will put me to sleep. I'd rather not even mention the other one I bought this year, I want my money back.

The Liberty Bowl was a better game, but the finish in the Citrus Bowl was better. -

William Tell also went 4-0, pulling way ahead in first. Rowand fell back with a 1-3 start to the day, ouch. Greasy can still catch William Tell if he correctly picks all the BCS games and would win on tiebreaker.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 1, 2005 -> 01:43 PM) Thus far its been the best game of the bowl season for me. You obviously missed the Liberty Bowl because that was a far better game than the pathetic offenses on display. From LSU not having a QB to Iowa not having a RB this game is ugly. At least it's somewhat competitive, but the Big Ten champs (and best team in the conference IMO) should be running over the 4th best SEC team.
