  1. Isn't it cool to be close to fame? And let's not forget it's Josh Fields the pitcher, not the 3rd baseman. Stupid Alex beating me to the punch after I told you to specify.
  2. QUOTE(Brian @ Feb 26, 2005 -> 01:45 PM) Warren vs. Evanston LIVE today at 2pm on WTTW Channel 11. Thanks for the heads up. It will give me a chance to scout the Devils. Also, I forgot to mention that last night GBN closed out their regular season with a 51-42 win at Deerfield. That's 2 straight years of 10-0 in conference play. Coolest of all is that Bruce Weber was at the game. His younger brother Dave coaches for GBN and Scheyer is considering going to Illinois. Weber parked right next to me and was 5 ft away from me. The guy never stops smiling lol.
  3. QUOTE(backman @ Feb 25, 2005 -> 11:23 PM) does anyone know which teams made it to the city championship? Simeon beat Marshall and Westinghouse beat Von Stueben in the 2 semis. The championship game will be 7 pm tonight on WCIU.
  4. Ok let's see. Hernandez is supposed to project as a power guy and he is successful throwing out runners from what I hear so his arm should be above average. Rogowski is a lefty. I'd say he has 15-30 HR potential. I would lean towards the lower end, but I don't know for sure. Brice is a lefty as well. He is supposed to be pretty good defensively with a below average arm. I'm not exactly sure where he plays in the OF, I can't remember. He played one of the corner spots if not both most of the time though. I somehow remember him getting some time in CF, but I don't think that's right. He walks a decent amount, nothing spectacular or horrible, rarely K's. He's a gap hitter with improving power, but for now gap hitter. It's Tracey with an e. He is supposed to have a rubber arm and I believe he peaks at 94-95, but not sure on that. I don't know much about his stuff either. He does walk quite a few guys and his stuff isn't spectacular but he pitches inside and really pitches like a pro from what I hear.
  5. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 08:08 PM) Gordon isn't really the Iverson type as he doesn't really drive into the paint as much as him, and tends to settle for the jumpers. Yeah, but when he drives it's very much like Iverson. He drives, draws attention and throws the ball somewhere in the vicinity of the hoop and somehow it usually goes in.
  6. QUOTE(qwerty @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 12:57 PM) That is exactly what i was doing when i read that. Ray allen a cancer? Come on now. Yeah, everytime I read something DBAH0 says about the NBA it's purely awful. Sorry dibs, you have no idea what you are talking about. I think he is closest to Allen Iverson. Anyone who voted Jordan deserves to be shot for stupidity. I'm so sick of these Jordan comparisons. Give me a break!!!
  7. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Feb 22, 2005 -> 09:52 PM) Also, I don't understand on Sweeney isn't on there, but Anderson is... He clearly favors guys with proven production over pure talent. At this point in time Anderson has more production.
  8. This guy seems to like production that's why he has BMac and Anderson relatively high while Rickie Weeks sits at 36.
  9. QUOTE(El Piervizdyeguchansodnik @ Feb 22, 2005 -> 03:10 PM) So I guess that means Buerhle, Garland, Hermanson, etc. all understand Spanish? Different group?
  10. Fiction: A White Sox starting pitcher will win 20 games this season. Fact: Willie Harris will be on the White Sox opening day roster. Fiction: Orlando "El Duque" Hernandez will toss more than 140 innings this season. Fiction: Shingo Takatsu will record more than 30 saves this season. Fiction: Scott Podsednik will set a career high in both batting average and OBP this season. Fiction: Frank Thomas will play in more than 120 games this season. Fiction: Carl Everett will get more than 350 at-bats this season. Fact: A White Sox starter other than Mark Buehrle or Freddy Garcia will throw a complete game shutout this season. Fact: The White Sox will win the American League Central in 2005.
  11. QUOTE(El Piervizdyeguchansodnik @ Feb 21, 2005 -> 09:16 PM) Why the hell is a Philadelphia news outlet picking up on a story in Alaska?? Yeah, I don't even think I believe this.
  12. QUOTE(backman @ Feb 20, 2005 -> 10:32 AM) skiles is the best coach the bulls have had since phil and he done wonderful things with this team, i think this is a fight eddy cant win! He is not the type of guy to take the team to the next level however. He wears thin on guys, it gets old. The Bulls will have to keep this core of players instead of Skiles.
  13. Anybody else see BC beat Cuse and then storm the court? BC is ranked higher (6 vs 9 for Cuse) and it was on their home floor yet their idiotic fans stormed the court. That's just stupid and sad.
  14. You guys shouldn't have gotten your hopes up. These 2 sides hate each other too much. This is non-news at this point. Hell, I thought the cancellation was non-news. This has seemed obvious when the sides seemed to be far apart and barely negotiating.
  15. Now one has to wonder if Kansas is even safe as a #2 in the tourney. The committee HATES teams that finish poorly, and Kansas is doing just that. They will probably have to win out (including Big 12 Tourney) to get a #1 seed. That's not out of the question, but I don't see it happening. If they don't have any more bad losses the rest of the way they should get a 2, but another upset could slot them down if the committee thinks they are in enough of a slump. It will be very interesting to see how this shakes out.
  16. For Heads' sake I hope ISU wins or he will probably kill himself from the inability of his Cyclones to close out the deal. First football blows the Big 12 North in their last game pathetically, now this is ugly lol.
  17. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Feb 19, 2005 -> 02:16 PM) The lineups will be the same as they were last year too, with every position mandatory except you must have a CF and then two generic OF. I think we had CF last year too.
  18. Stat Categories: R, 2B, 3B, HR, RBI, SB, K, E, AVG, OPS, W, L, CG, SHO, SV, BB, K, HLD, ERA, WHIP May I suggest we get rid of errors and shutouts if still possible? They are mostly luck in fantasy. Also, one is a hitting category while the other is pitching.
  19. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Feb 19, 2005 -> 01:55 PM) I was referring to the "You f***ers deserve s***" comment, that I took as you saying to us hockey fans... Were you meaning it towards NHL management/players or something...? The NHL. That's why I started the sentence with f*** the NHL,
  20. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Feb 19, 2005 -> 01:28 PM) :rolly You're a moron. Why? You think the NHL is run well? Then I think you are the moron. It took a "cancellation" of a season to get their asses in gear. That's very sad.
  21. You can't just uncancel something. The NHL is a horribly run league, and I was hoping to see a new league take it's place. f*** the NHL, you f***ers don't deserve s***.
  22. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Feb 18, 2005 -> 05:25 PM) So Bullard will be the addition to the league. He will?
  23. QUOTE(Brian @ Feb 18, 2005 -> 08:19 AM) When I saw him as a freshmen in the Sweet 16 game vs. Zion, I was amazed he was a freshmen cuz he is tall, athletic, and was so smooth. Not to mention the point guard. Is he still running point this year? Never seemed pressured or never forced anything. I had the best seats in the house, right on the floor next to the TV announcers. Your head coach is Bruce Weber's brother, yes? He has never consistently run the point in his career, however, at times in games he will bring up the ball all the time. If the game is on the line he may be forced to, but in normal situations he will not bring it up.
