  1. Back to the original point of this topic, with Escobar gone it would seem more likely that both Anderson and Spidale will find themselves at Charlotte to start 05.
  2. Finally, I always hated him. I remember on a rare occassion when the Bulls would lose to the Pacers and he would always stare down players. Ahh good times considering he never won a title. He was a great shooter though. The real question is what took him so long?
  3. It would major league screw me over if I had to keep 2 hitters and 2 pitches instead of just any 4 players. My thinking is that it wouldn't be to any cheating benefit for me to have 3 keeper pitchers because I'm only going to have 1 keeper hitter. Let's face it my lineup sucked, my best 2 hitters were Chavez and Kent. Meanwhile, Sabathia, Hudson, and Gagne all pitched for me... So can I just keep CC, Hudson, Game Over, and Chavez?
  4. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 04:28 PM) My guess is he goes by a different name. I thought he would be Kelvin, but nothing came up on The Baseball Cube. However, I did a yahoo search and got a lot of hits. None that I looked at came up with anything relevant.
  5. Uhh...Jason, we should probably get moving on this somewhat soon.
  6. Anyone else disturbed by the use of the home whites on the road?
  7. Caruso is a bad comparison. His OPS for 98 isn't even all that good, .721.

    Made in Canada

What's with all the Canadian hatin'? WTF did they ever do to us? Sheesh, some of the people that live in this country don't deserve this country.
  9. QUOTE(BlackBetsy @ Feb 3, 2005 -> 05:05 PM) Note how deep the Twins' prospects go....Justin Jones is down on their list and he'd probably be #3 on the Sox's list. I don't know, I don't really like Justin Jones all that much. He was a repeat in the Midwest League and did much worse.
  10. QUOTE(3E8 @ Feb 3, 2005 -> 03:22 PM) I just beat G. Money 56-29. That game is too easy. Agreed. I mastered it the first time they pushed it. It's still fun every now and again.
  11. TradeSports.com has odds on each division. It works somewhat like stocks. The teams are taken as percentages and you can buy/sell at almost any time. However, it's easy enough to convert them to odds. Right now it stands as: Twins 50 (even money) Indians 21.5 (about 4 to 1) Sox 15 (almost 7 to 1) Tigers 8 (25 to 2) Royals 1 (100 to 1)
  12. Yeah, that's so hard to say. It's just too difficult to answer because I'm sure I'll leave someone out. The short answer is a lot of the guys on the lower levels will be promoted while a lot of the guys at the higher levels may be forced to be held back.
  13. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Feb 1, 2005 -> 10:09 PM) I think Tracey's age would keep him off of alot of prospect lists unless he somehow moves to AAA and dominates it next year. I think Sweeney has the best shot of making that list next year. Hopefully we will see a breakout season from him. Both good points. The only issue with Sweeney is that it might be hard for him to put up huge numbers, top 10 numbers, in a big time pitchers' park in Birmingham. However, Sweeney is 'on the radar' in terms of top prospects because of his Spring Training showing last year.
  14. First off, that guy's list is pretty terrible. Second, don't be surprised if BMac gets on the top 10 pitchers on a lot of experts lists with a strong 05. His 04 was one of the best seasons in the minors last year. Only problem with having him as a top 10 pitching prospect is that he basically came out of nowhere (17th round) and 04 was his only season, little good season, at full season ball. Meaning that as of now he's on the radar, but still needs to prove himself more to become a top 10 guy. Then again, who says you need to have one of the top 20 prospects in the game to be doing a good job as a GM or to show you have a good minor league system?
  15. If you look at the slomo her color is off. She looks too defined while the basket is clearly blurred. Basically what I'm trying to say is that the lighting in the room she is in when they filmed this for the faking is much different from the lighting of the gym. She is too bright.
  16. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Feb 1, 2005 -> 04:09 PM) The Hoop is an 18 inch diameter... I don't think she wears a 36" waistband, so in theory she could fit. Well, the waist isn't the widest part of your body. Her arms would have to go through as well. Either way she could fit. That is fake as hell, it's so obvious.
  17. It was an entertaining game. It's good to see they do seem to have some following. Oh well, I just hope they don't start 0-2. The NBC halftime crew was talking up the Soul.
  18. Good idea. I'll have to see what this is like.
  19. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 27, 2005 -> 03:46 PM) It has societal implications beyond sports. Is it right for a 9 year old kid to be being contacted by professional sports organziations? It doesn't matter because he won't be signed for a few years. I can guarantee that. Just because teams are looking at him doesn't mean they've offered him a contract yet. These teams took forever to give Adu offers as it was.
  20. Why isn't this in the Sports Bar? This kid won't sign for a few years and even if he does he will be playing on youth teams anyway. A big reason why Adu didn't sign with the European teams was that he wouldn't play much with the senior club.
  21. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jan 26, 2005 -> 09:23 PM) Steve Alford = teh sux0rs /that is all. What a pathetic excuse for a basketball game! I turned away multiple times.
  22. I know you would like to see the Sox all the time, but I think your best bet would be to pick a streak of days where the Sox are playing in the Phoenix area and get a hotel around Phoenix. Tucson doesn't have much going for it. If you stay in the Phoenix area you can check out more parks. There is also more to do in the area. The drive from Phoenix to Tucson isn't that long, it's just boring because the area between the two cities is completely undeveloped. It was somewhere around an hour I think. If you only have to drive once or twice to Tucson during your stay that isn't too bad. With all that said, if you aren't renting a car, don't stay in Phoenix lol.
