  1. The Sox are still in a delay, but it isn't raining by me. I'm about a half hour from the city.

Was that suppose to impress us or further convince us that you live in the middle of nowhere?
  3. It amazes me how stupid people can be. It was his first ever start, give him a break.
  4. Heck the skies are dark at the park. They put the lights on and it's only 5:20......
  5. We still have to bat in the bottom of the 5th if it comes and rains out the game.
  6. It's gonna rain soon, but will it rain enough?

It's because Oelwein is a farming town and it's school is probably really, really small. Basically it's Hell.
  8. Well the thing everyone kept saying was that he throws strikes and doesn't have spectacular stuff. He can be a solid pitcher pitching like this. What worries me is that if he gets hurt and loses a few MPH he could be in major trouble. He only pitches low 90s as is. Obviously I'm pretty satisfied with what he's done so far.
  9. Ya know the amazing thing about the first game is that as we see Diaz give up a ball right down the middle to Palmiero for a HR, it's amazing to think this guy didn't make one major mistake. Every pitcher in his ML debut has made major mistakes. There is no way the guy was that good. The Sox have never seen this guy pitch so they whiff on a fastball down the middle. "Wow, I think I can hit this but I've never seen this guy pitch, it must end up tailing."
  10. I hope so too, I'd rather lose 5-0 than 1-0. Especially when it's the pitcher's ML debut.
  11. Yeah because some of the posters keep posting in the Game 1 Thread for some reason.
  12. Despite the HR it's good to see Diaz settle down. That pitch was too down the middle for a big leaguer to not get out. It's ok, we have the lead, and he's gotten the next 2 guys out.
  13. 7 is too low for a guy batting .359. Though I don't mind seeing him bat 5th. He is just doing so much better than Konerko and Lee right now to be stuck behind them in the lineup. With Lee in the 2 spot that doesn't matter I guess. Either way I don't think it makes or breaks the game.
  14. I actually think he probably swore at first, then smiled. I doubt he laughed happily. If anything it was an evil laugh.
  15. I've always hated Carlos. He has no brain when it comes to baseball and is anything but graceful in LF.
  16. Don't toy with us like that. I look away from the tv for a second, read that and think I missed something only to look back and see the inning going on.

    Iowa tennis= :banghead
  18. He normally hits well out of the 2 hole. And I didn't get to see today's game and looked over the play by play. I didn't know he sucked out of the 2 hole as well. Carlos is the worst, I despise him.
  19. Figures Lee would get a hit out of the 2 hole. He can't hit otherwise.

Ahh, that brings me back when I whooped a team 6-0, 6-0 last season. Good times.
  21. No seperate game 2 thread? Diaz is looking solid. Good control. The thing on him was that he threw strikes in Charlotte. 3 flyballs is worrysome, but it's hard to complain with the results. BTW, I love how Diaz took a deep breathe there, very funny. Relax kid you can do it!
  22. Adkins had a 1.25 WHIP last season and an ERA of 3.96. Not great numbers, but they aren't worthless. I never said K/9 and WHIP don't matter. You keep saying he will put up a K/BB ratio of 1 to 1 in AAA. He already posted a K/BB of almost 2 to 1 the last 2 seasons in AAA. So my question was why do you keep saying he will do that when he has proved he is better than that. This is ridiculous that I'm arguing with you. All you do is make it sound like I'm wrong and your opinion is fact.
  23. Yeah now that Bham is getting enough hitting to win with the good pitching more consistently and Winston-Salem has gotten better hitting and pitching all the teams in the organization are doing pretty well. Heck even Kanny has been showing more consistency of late, winning 3 in a row (longest winning streak of season).
