  1. I was speaking economically only. The White Sox can't afford Johnson. The Red Sox can.
  2. Wrong color Sox to be in the Randy Johnson ballpark.
  3. Charlotte's offense exploded. The Knights beat Scranton 13-9. Every Knight get on base. Reed went 2-5 with a walk and 3 runs. Borchard had 2 HRs with 7 RBI. Jamie Burke had 3 hits. Nelson, Smith, and Paz had 2 hits each. Kohlmeier was not at his best tonight. Wunsch got the win despite not pitching all that well himself. Sanders and Santiago pitched well though. Box Score
  4. Konerko, Borchard, and Diaz for Garcia? No thanks. Too steep for a rental.
  5. I 2nd that, and in fact was going to do that on my own.
  6. You are being modest. You love K-Rod and others. Just look at your freaking fantasy team...
  7. Well Ulacia did start. Yofu will probably fill the rotation until Pacheco comes back or Diaz is demoted. Who knows.
  8. Suddenly the White Sox pick up half of the Anaheim Angels' roster.
  9. I know, it's tough to deal with. I can't get over this.
  10. Was there a spot on the Knights roster or did he replace Ulacia? Baj saw it coming!
  11. Watch the Cubs will get him.
  12. Right, I forgot about the doubleheader. Everything makes sense now.
  13. Why was Diaz pitching on 3 days rest anyway?
  14. While I'd like to give Diaz another chance, it's very hard to argue Cotts as the 5th starter. He looks like he's got it this year.
  15. Way to have patience guys! I'm glad to see you are willing to give a young guy a chance! C'mon, of the guys we've seen come up in the past few have had immediate impacts. Garland struggled at first and if he hadn't been given the chance to continue with the team wouldn't have been doing so well so soon. I'd like to see Diaz get at least another start. If he sucks again the Sox are going to have to bite the bullet and give someone else a chance. If he does well the Sox will be reaping the rewards.

Yeah it's soda damnit! I hate it that people call it pop around here. My dad is from New York so he never said it, but even my Chicagoan mom doesn't use pop. Oh and I loved the Simpsons reference too!
  17. FutureSox rules! Baj had a great personality. I laughed out loud a few times. I loved to hear that. You want a closer that loves to close. Baj I can't wait to see you pitch for the Sox!
  18. Noboby really hates on this board. Other than a conflict about Adkins (a Major Leaguer no less) between Brando and myself and others most people here are open to opinions. Since we don't get to see the games (well most of us) people don't flip out with irrational, knee jerk reactions. This is the thinking man's Sox board. Why I'm here is beyond me.
  19. She looks and talks too much like a man for me.
  20. Go to minorleaguebaseball.com or sportsnetwork.com. minorleaguebaseball.com is powered by sportsnetwork so they will have the same stuff. It's the best place to find stats. BA and ESPN also seem to be pretty good.
  21. Technically they aren't shutouts because he didn't go the distance right? Either way sweet as always.
  22. Birmingham lost 5-1 to Mobile. The Barons managed only 5 hits, 2 of them by Mike Spidale. Ryan Meaux pitched pretty well (6 IP, 2 ER), but Brian McNichol blew up. He surrendered his first earned runs of the season. Bull had 2 Ks in a perfect inning of work. Box Score The Warthogs beat Salem 6-5. Ryan Sweeney is heating up finally. He went 3-5 with a HR and 3 runs scored. Brian Anderson went 3-4, a HR short of the cycle, with 2 RBI. Andy Gonzalez went 0-2, but had 3 walks. He was able to score 2 runs as Sweeney and Anderson hit well behind him. Isn't that it's supposed to work? The leadoff men get on base and the power hitters bring 'em in. All 6 runs came from the 1-3 hitters in the lineup and all 5 RBI were by the 3-5 hitters. Nanita 0-4 with a walk and 2 Ks. Paulino Reynoso got shelled, but Purvis, Ray, and Pollok combined for 7 shutout innings of relief. Box Score Kanny beat Asheville 4-2. Valido went 2-5, but is still batting only .253. Cory Haggerty and Seth Morris each had HRs and Clint King had 2 doubles. Brian Miller with yet another quality start. Box Score
  23. Yeah I don't know where you got your stats. Reed has had wrist problems that are obviously hampering him. As much as I'd like to see him up, he won't be effective unless he is 100% at this point. As for Morse, most think the season for him is a mirage. He is only batting .296 now anyway. He is nowhere near ready for the Majors. I'd like to see him spend a full season in AA, if he plays well the whole year he can play in AAA next season. So I think he is at least 2 seasons away from even getting a shot, if he ever gets one.
