    QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 08:25 AM) I'm going out on a limb and saying "Inglorious Basterds" is Quentin Tarantino's best film. It avoided the cliches and annoyances of his past flicks (don't get me wrong, I enjoy most, such as RD, PF, KB, etc). I think Basterds will go down as his best film, and will stand the test of time for obvious reasons. The dramatic elements were actually quite believable in this one, and the cinematography was top-notch. I can see this film being studied for years. What an impressive, enjoyable film. I'll second that notion.
  3. Yes. I am convinced that Brandon can win a gold glove though.
  4. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 12:36 PM) lol, old KW makes me think that he'll be packaged for a player in Dec! For Russ Springer.
  5. Flowers just hit a walk off three run home run in the bottom of the 11th.
  6. QUOTE (Markbilliards @ Aug 26, 2009 -> 07:15 PM) What matters to most: Birmingham numbers- Viciedo - 1 for 5, 2B, RBI (68) Retherford - 2 for 5, 2B, RBI (72) Cook - 2 for 5, 2B, HR (24), RBI (81) Treybone - 1 for 5, SB (29) McCulloch reminding everyone why he's an awful draft pick. 5 ER, 5 IP. That's 42 doubles for C.J. Cook is fighting with Halman for the home run crown in SL. They're tied with 24.
  7. Chris Getz and the legendary Dewayne Wise have begun their rehabs with Charlotte.
  8. QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Aug 25, 2009 -> 07:05 PM) Miguel Gonzalez keeps on hitting. 2-2 currently with a double. I really like him. It's a shame he didn't get to play while he was with B'ham. But, I wasn't surprised.
  9. Even though his nickname is Big BA, Allen wasn't exactly huge. He is 6'2" and is 235. He's about the size of a linebacker. But, he is a lean 235. He actually looked like he lost some weight from last season. I think he's definitely capable of winning a gold glove at 1B. He could play LF in a pinch, but probably not everyday. He has the speed and range to cover the ground in a corner outfield spot.

    QUOTE (KipWellsFan @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 11:26 PM) Dark Knight helmer Christopher Nolan's new Sci-Fi flick Inception trailer starring Leo Dicaprio. http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1810099246/video/15201197 Trailer gives away virtually nothing but it's still pretty tight. Looks kind of like a cross between Memento and Dark City. Nolan's gotta be one of the best living directors, should be good stuff. Yeah, I saw that one tonight before Inglourious Basterds, which itself was awesome.

    QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 10:00 AM) 'The Goods; Live Hard, Sell Hard' was pretty funny. I'm not a huge Piven fan, it must have gotten me in the right mood cuz I lol a few times. I saw the first half before we lost power.
  12. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 06:16 AM) you need to get to Gwinnett, and you need to FIND THAT F***ING DOG Huh?
  13. QUOTE (jhonnydanks @ Aug 23, 2009 -> 09:59 PM) Peavy makes a start at 6pm tomorrow. Knights vs Braves. Anyone else gonna be out there? Internship in the CHI is finally over, so I'm back at Clemson. Only about an hour from this game. Just wondering if anyone else is around the area. Go ahead and translate all of this into don't stop get it get it. You know, back in April, I was thinking about hitting up this double header. The Barons are out of town and I'm off work, plus it's only a three hour drive from where I am. But, I'll probably just stay home. Who would have thunk it back in April that Peavy would pitch in one of the games?
  14. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Aug 22, 2009 -> 09:46 PM) Johnnie Lowe gets destroyed again.. Rasner was awesome though. They should have demoted him back to W-S before last Tuesday. Now he's stuck on our roster and he can't be replaced by someone else who is playoff eligible. I wouldn't be surprised if that's his last start. Cassel is more than capable of taking his place.
  15. Boxes... Knights vs. G-Braves Barons vs. Jaxx Dash vs. Hillcats Kanny vs. Bowling Green Voyagers vs. Chukars BriSox vs. P-Rays
  16. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Aug 22, 2009 -> 02:32 PM) The Charlotte game against Gwinnett is on CSS, if anybody has that channel. It will also be streaming on MiLB.tv. It's not streaming on MiLB.tv, my bad. It had been listed as a live stream, but I guess that was incorrect.
  17. C.J. Retherford has become only the third player in Barons history to hit 40 doubles in one season. The other two? Magglio Ordonez and Chris Young.
  18. The Charlotte game against Gwinnett is on CSS, if anybody has that channel. It will also be streaming on MiLB.tv.
  19. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Aug 5, 2009 -> 02:01 AM) Mark Buehrle didn't seem to care. But ya, with that said, I was a big Carter fan. True, but Mark Buehrle shouldn't have confidence issues at this point in his career. A guy in his second pro season, and first full one, will have a tougher time adjusting.
  20. Justin Edwards started out in extended spring training. He was assigned to Kanny once Hudson was promoted to Winston-Salem.
  21. The Barons, Dash & Voyagers have all clinched spots in the playoffs. B'ham and W-S have a chance to win both halves. Kanny is in good position to win the second half and get into the playoffs. Winning the second half favors that team in the playoffs. Bristol and Charlotte suck. Not bad to pretty much get 4 out of 6 minor league teams into the playoffs.
  22. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Aug 20, 2009 -> 10:48 PM) Winston-Salem is probably our least interesting minor league team. I mean i enjoy following Morel and Loman, but they don't really offer any other form of excitement. I'd say Birmingham is my favorite to follow with Brisol, being something of a dark horse, bringing up the rear. They're in position to win both halves, I'm interested. Unfortunately, according to Ed Collari, there's no incentive though. If the Barons win the second half, they get 4 home games in the first round of the playoffs. I think they also get home field advantage if the move on to the championship. Plus, W-S has been tremendously successful in close games all season.
  23. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 20, 2009 -> 08:55 PM) Maybe it never existed. I hope so.
  24. QUOTE (son of a rude @ Aug 20, 2009 -> 08:26 PM) im satisfied. Keep the level of your satisfaction to yourself please.
