  1. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Apr 20, 2012 -> 06:07 PM) I'm really looking forward to Molina's and Castro's next starts. Who's with me? Molina tonite. Castro Sunday (I'm guessing) for the Barons. These guys could be a big part of the near future and redemption for KW. Or not. Any way to watch said games free online? Regions Park has no cameras.
  2. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Apr 20, 2012 -> 09:10 PM) I'm aware of how pitcher-friendly Regions Park is. Regardless, this is a nice bounceback for NM since the 1st inning of his last start. It's a f***ing bank, I don't even care about the misspelling. 340 down the lines, 405 to center and about 370-380 gaps. I've stood in that outfield many times and it goes on forever, expansive. Plus, the wind usually blows in from left the majority of the time, if there is any.
  3. QUOTE (bighurt4life @ Apr 19, 2012 -> 06:01 PM) Entirely possible that there's a coach there that they want him working with on some specific aspect of his game too. J.R. Perdew.
  4. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 19, 2012 -> 08:39 PM) Brady Shoemaker went 3/4, 2 HR, 2B. Hitting .362 now. He is 24. It's time to push him to AA and see if he continues to hit. Kenny Williams Jr.
  5. Zaleski has value at AA and AAA, he's been in the system for a long time. He can eat innings, he's an organizational guy.

Here's a free baseball novel... Link
  7. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 18, 2012 -> 09:57 PM) Rienzo through 3 starts: 18 IP, 14 H, 2 ER, 5 BB, 23 K. He's 23 now. Time to move up when the next slot opens. It did when Pedro Hernandez went on the DL, but they filled it with Zaleski.
  8. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 18, 2012 -> 02:31 PM) Bayne pitched well. Matt Wickswat has not handled the transition to AA, and relief, very well. I have never understood the Sox' love affair with Leesman. I've read the scouting reports, seen his numbers, even seen him pitch a few times... and he just doesn't look like he's a major league pitcher to me. If Phegley keeps hitting a ton and stays healthy, and the Sox are out of it in July, I wouldn't be surprised to see AJ traded. Charlie's issue is control. When he has it, he's decent. When he doesn't, the results speak for themselves.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 12, 2012 -> 12:32 PM) Not me. I don't pay for e-books! I'll go to 99 cents, but that's my limit. The only book I've paid full price for was Out Of My League by Dirk Hayhurst. I have 370+ books on my Kindle and I've spent maybe a grand total of $20 to fill it. There's plenty of good free stuff on Amazon.

QUOTE (SnB @ Apr 17, 2012 -> 09:29 AM) I'm halfway through, damn entertaining. But you're right, definitely weird. There's been a few chapters where after you're done, you have to figure out how you got there. Harbach obviously doesn't know anything about baseball players. He should've read Dirk Hayhurst's books before he wrote The Art of Fielding.
  11. Anne Hathaway has a bigger booty than that, so it's been photoshopped at least.
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 17, 2012 -> 10:50 PM) In AA and AAA, it's basically only Kuhn and McPherson. Neither players are going to make much of an impact with the major league team, barring a minor miracle. Lillibridge is the best bet for this season, scarily enough. For the time being, our best middle infield prospect is probably Carlos Sanchez, who's also arguably not going to be much of a threat to challenge an 800 OPS at the major league level. And he's only 19 and at least 2 full season away, if not 2 1/2. Probably the only way to add impact players at those positions is trading Floyd, Thornton, Crain...with the money due Matt and Jesse, it's hard to expect a premium infield bat back for either one. Unless AJ continues to hit out his mind and a starting catcher on a pennant contender goes down for the season, it's hard to imagine getting much back for him, either. KW would end up acquiring a gaggle of right handed minor league pitchers for those guys.
  13. I got to see Andy Gonzalez last week, playing for Huntsville when they were in town to play the Barons.
  14. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 17, 2012 -> 04:51 PM) kat.ph I avoid torrents.
  15. All those locker sites getting shut down has cut into my music accumulation.
  16. Christian Marrero is proving that he's > Greg Golson.
  17. QUOTE (bighurt4life @ Apr 16, 2012 -> 11:15 PM) Defense always been the question with him. Has a strong arm and can throw runners out, no idea about his ability to call a game. Hector Santiago and Terry Doyle have both raved about his game calling.
  18. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 16, 2012 -> 09:01 PM) Nevin Griffith...6 innings out of the pen this season, only one walk. True story. That's your key stat right there, Flav. They fixed something with him because last year he had 96 walks and 85 K's in 108 innings.
  19. KW has put a lot of faith in Marco Paddy.
  20. Man, it's easy to agitate Keith Law's Twitter followers.
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 13, 2012 -> 04:47 PM) Luke Scott calls Fenway a dump. It is. It looks like a giant dumpster, literally.
  22. QUOTE (danman31 @ Apr 13, 2012 -> 09:20 PM) Castro, Quintana and Hernandez are all good prospects. Probably only Castro rates higher than Rienzo, but the point is the same. The entire reason I'd like to see Rienzo in AA now is because it is the biggest jump. I'm not going to get worked up about a guy in AA instead of AAA, but high-A to AA is a difficult adjustment that takes time that he's not getting. It's really not that big of a deal long term, I just don't understand why he needed to repeat high-A after a good year there. Quintana, Hernandez and Molina are all younger than him as well, for what that's worth. I figured he'd be up here too.
  23. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Apr 12, 2012 -> 10:25 PM) Because he is being blocked by KW Jr. in LF in Double A No need for sarcasm, KW Jr. is F'ing a lot of more talented players.
  24. Try switching the MOL in Molina with the N in Nestor...
