Danny Richar
Richar is #1 on the roster.....I thought that was retired for Willie?

The Aaron Poreda Mystery
Heh.

Danny Richar
QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jul 28, 2007 -> 11:16 AM) I guarantee Richar is less than impressive. Has he even been called up yet? EDIT: NM, it pays to read the entire thread. Anyone know anything about his fielding skill set? Has talent but is prone to dumb errors.

Isn't it ironic?
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 27, 2007 -> 10:14 PM) 7-2 when Jerry Owens gets on base and steals a bag. 1-0 in games on the same day that we trade Tadahito Iguchi.

If FutureSox did their Top 25 today......
I really agree with you in regards to Sweeney. I'm still waiting for a switch to flip for him.

If FutureSox did their Top 25 today......
John Ely has a higher cieling than Heath Phillips.

Good luck to the Buehrle's...
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 27, 2007 -> 11:21 PM) Named after his 2 favorite Cardinals of all time. Looper and Eckstein. How cute. Will Mark ever stop with the Cardinal bulls***? Honestly...

Possible 3-way deal?
Tomorrow could be interesting...something could happen tomorrow afternoon before the game.

Ehren Wassermann
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jul 27, 2007 -> 10:53 PM) disagree 100%. You can combine names and say Famous Amos Day, or perhaps just have a flat out Famous Amos Day where they give out cookies. I should so take Brooks' job. I bow down to you.

If FutureSox did their Top 25 today......
eh, my ttop 5 would look like 1. Gio Gonzalez 2. Danny Richar 3. Ryan Sweeney 4. Jack Egbert 5. Fautino De Los Santos With names such as Carter trailing behind. I'd really rather have Sweeney #5, but I just can't do it. Of course, that's also based mainly off of how they are doing right now.

QUOTE(BearSox @ Jul 27, 2007 -> 10:18 PM) I don't think we should be so quick to write off Day. He has an above average fastball with some life to go along with a good slider. He's simply not ready for the majors. But his first name is Amos, so that's automatically two strikes against him.

Rowand out of today's line up
He hurt himself playing tag. Thread closed.

White Sox Winner!
QUOTE(danman31 @ Jul 27, 2007 -> 10:04 PM) Yeah, all that. Anybody starting to think Wasserman might be a real Major League pitcher? Yup. Anything that keeps Dewon Day away.

White Sox Winner!
Draft position be damned and all that stuff, it still feels mighty good to win. JON JD EHREN JENKS

Ehren Wassermann
I've been quite encouraged by what I've been seeing, namely, poise and not totally devolving into mayonnaise on the mound. I was never real high on him, but I think he's found a nice home in the Sox pen for the time being.

Iguchi Traded to Phillies for RP/SP Michael Dubee
QUOTE(BearSox @ Jul 27, 2007 -> 05:01 PM) that is a very good comparison... Or not, as Meaux was at least in AA with better numbers, and Iguchi had better numbers and is expected to fill a starting role, at least til Utley gets back. Dubee isn't even in Advanced A yet.

Big 10 (11) maybe 12?
Iowa State would be a lot more willing to leave the Big 12 because they know they'd get quite a bit more money their way. Keep in mind that ISU's AD is a Wisconsin guy who was Barry Alvarez's assistant AD. That being said, I really don't think Iowa State provides anything to the Big 10.

QUOTE(BearSox @ Jul 27, 2007 -> 04:43 PM) how do you know? Been talking with some GM's lately or something? I know we all like to pretend to be GM's, but odds are we weren't getting offered a whole lot for Iguchi. If we did get offered something good, shame on KW for passing it up. I just refuse to believe KW couldn't have done better. Maybe he was concerned this was his only chance to move his contract, but he got diddly-poo in return.

Where's DLS?
Dagastino is a good guy.
