Wisdom Teeth out
QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jul 11, 2006 -> 04:33 PM) Why is smoking such a no/no? That kind of confused me. I don't smoke, but going to parties and bars regularly, I'm around it. I also just got back from the oral surgeon. Another dry socket. I only got the bottoms taken out, and even though it took three months, both became infected and got dry socket. It's incredible, it truly is. My surgeon said that he hadn't seen somebody get dry socket in both bottom sides in sixteen years and never in his practice has he seen someone get a dry socket 2-3 months after the surgery was completed. Just goes to show you how impacted my wisdom teeth were. Be thankful, my man (Heads), you lucked out. It think it's because of tar particles and stuff. The soreness started to get a little worse, but then it was time for my next Combunox and I'm feeling frisky again.

2006 White Sox Catch-All Thread
Just to show that Soxishness is extending....covering a playoff baseball game here in NE Iowa....when a batter strikes out I started hearing people say "He Gone."

Wisdom Teeth out
Novocaine just started to wear off. Got some soreness, but not bad at all.

Wisdom Teeth out
I have trouble with drooling....but the Combunox had me with a nice buzz going in. The nitrous took like a minute to work but it was that feeling like if where someone is talking to you right after you are waking up. "Yup. Uh huh." My dentist is one of two in town. He's known us for a while, so I asked him "you gonna give me a blow by blow?" and he said sure. He asked if I felt the nitrous and I said "I'm feeling good about Iowa State athletics" and he said it's working. I'm trying to figure out when the horrendous part is supposed to be. Are you getting more pulled today or what?
-
Wisdom Teeth out
I mean in all seriousness that it was a peaceful and calming experience. Might have been the nitrous. If you know the dentist, ask him/her their thoughts on the Bulss signing Wallace or something.

Wisdom Teeth out
3 of mine were below the gum and the other one was poking out at the corner. Maybe my dentist is just good, or yours suck?

Wisdom Teeth out
All four at once. The only pain was one shot he said by each top one that would hurt a little. The lowers weren't bad at all. I came in expecting the worst...to where I didn't care....to now where I feel sleepy. I was done in 20 minutes...

Wisdom Teeth out
Well, that went about as well as possible. About an hour before, I took my first painkillers. At that point I felt lighter and all in all pretty good. I went there and laid down and I took nitrous. That's neat stuff. I felt all tingely. I asked him to give me a play by play and he told me what he was doing, which was neat. I thought it was cool to listen to. He'd be like "I'm using a scalpel to make an incision.....I can see the tooth....now I'm gonna use this thing that sounds like a drill to section the tooth." The best part was when he said "That went about as perfectly as we could have hoped." About halfway through I asked him his thoughts on Iowa State basketball, or as I said it, "whaf fah fur foffs ahn iafa sfafe basfeffafal." It was kinda neat. Since it didn't hurt, it was interesting. Now for the being lazy.

Bush's 1st Veto
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 11, 2006 -> 10:42 AM) Thanks jackass, now there is water on my keyboard. It's the painkillers that I just started for wisdom teeth. I'm on Combunox, which is the stuff Rush was hooked on. Now, he's roughly the size on an oxen, so I think it's a little a lot for me...but I'm currently feeling cautiously optomistic about life, ISU football and the issues with nuclear weapons and missiles in North Korea.

He should veto bears. Damn Godless killing machines anyways.ssss

The Midseason Awards Thread
The reason I'm fine with Ortiz as a DH is because even though he doesn't play the field, he has a massive effect on the outcome of Red Sox games. Not saying Thome and Dye don't, but the Red Sox would be third in the East without him.

Contreras out of ASG
I must be the only one who could care less about Liriano pitching for the AL to win.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jul 10, 2006 -> 10:22 PM) Good points by everyone on BA, i was surprised that I didnt get ripped apart for my comments on AROW and bA> Someone else said it best, but we aren't losing games because we have Brian instead of Aaron.

Brian is hitting .333 in July. I think that's picking it up.

Contreras out of ASG
Jenks did pitch 3 innings yesterday. It makes sense for him not to throw.

Grade 1st Half
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 10, 2006 -> 01:09 PM) B+ POSITIVES - Unbelievable offensive explosion this year, Jermaine Dye and Jim Thome have appearantly decided to join the ranks of the elite in the AL offensively (nothing new for Thome) and Joe Crede has been just ricockulous on both O and D. - Classic AJ is back and it's made this team so much better. - Contreras has gone a long way to prove that the second half of last year was a fluke. Awesome. - Brian Anderson has shown me so much in CF this year, I never liked him as a prospect and seriously questioned his defense, considering how some people talked about him. He has proven to be one of the best defensive players in baseball for the half season, simply unbelievable. - Even with all their flaws this team has still managed to stay only 2 game back of a team that is winning at a ridiculous pace. NEGATIVES - Reliance on Thome at the beginning of the year could have crippled this team. - Inconsistent bullpen for a good portion of the season thus far, though the pen has been pretty solid of late. - Horrid starting pitching considering the expectations. - Fundamentals have been pretty sloppy as well, this team can't bunt for s*** it seems and the baserunning has been subpar. ^^

Contreras out of ASG
Yay. Do the same with all of them.

Jason Schmidt
Why would SF sell their best pitcher while still in the NL west race?

ST Poll: Who was the MVP of the first-half?
We have 3 legit team MVP's. That's rather neat.
