Even Konerko has exceeded what I expected of him. The bench has done just about what I've expected of them. The starting pitching, defense and overall fundamentals have all been inconsistent. Can we still win 95 games and get into the playoffs? Sure. The Red Sox did just that last year with mediocre pitching and defense. But we saw what happened to them once the real season started. I don't care how many runs we score. This team will go as far as their pitching takes them. And the defense and fundamentals have to improve as well. That's what made us so good last year. We didn't have to score 6-10 runs every game to win. We could beat you in a variety of different ways. Not just out-slugging teams. Which we've pretty much done all year to this point. So, yeah, while there's alot to be excited about, there's a few concerns. I will say this much, though: If and when this team puts it ALL together, and I believe they will -- it's gonna be really, really scary for the rest of the AL. ^^

He was a sleeper coming into this year because he was hurt all of last year. Remember, Tyler was taken 4 picks before Gio. The talent is there, and, heck, he can throw both right and left handed, to appease everyone.

Haven't talked to Tyler lately, but I'm guessing this success and not being injured is really cutting into his Tiger Woods time.

It's just hard to imagine the entire team of the Tigers sustains career years. Could be looking at the 2000-2001 Sox.

Good thing we never lost to the Cubs during our championship season last year. God, our faces would have been red from that.

Cliff will likely be put on the DL later this month and if tonite's stint by Tracey didn't scare the Sox too much (5.2 IP, 3 h, 4 r, 6 bb; 1-2 at the plate), he should be up. Montero has been hit around a little down there too. I expect Cliff to fade onto the DL for the rest of the year, but I doubt he'll get DFA'd.

In the history of the site, I think Jason's been in the black for a couple of months total. The staff makes no money and all monies to Jason are to defray and recoup costs.
