Kyle Orton drunk off his ass pictures again
The man needs his own website to catalog this stuff. He comes from Iowa...what else is there to do out here? He's conditioned to do this stuff.

Hey Heads (Weather)
Heh, the football team kicked some serious ass when tornados hit. Coincidence? I think not. Anywho, here's the storm track for the second tornado last fall. I'm kinda a tornadoy guy, so I find this stuff neat.

Hey Heads (Weather)
QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 31, 2006 -> 12:05 PM) I lived in Ames for 5 years. As the meteorologists at ISU have pointed out, there are lots of "mini" tornado alleys. Small areas that tend to get hit, while others nearby do not. One of those mini-alleys is a SW-NE line that starts on the western edge of Ames, and proceeds NE to cross between Ames and Story City. That nasty one that hit last fall followed that route, I believe. They never told me this in 206. (My dad went here and told me damn near everyone takes Agron 206 for some reason). The tornado during the Colorado football game tracked over western and northwestern Ames. The places that got f***ed up last night were in western Ames. However, the one the week of the Iowa game was right on campus, an F1. NS, you and any others that are familiar with the campus, the one that went over campus started northwest of the College of Design, went over like MacKay Hall and Gilman Hall, and ended up in between Agronomy Hall and the tennis courts south of the Forker Building.

NBA seeks to ban tights next season
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 11:15 PM) The NBA is beyond ridiculous. They continue to drive me more and more to the college game by worrying about such trivial things. Plus I always though the tights were used for compression. No one is going to tell me they are stylish. The college game has passed the NBA, by quite a bit, in my eyes.

Cyclones now getting some better news....
QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Mar 31, 2006 -> 09:43 AM) From cstv.com: # Class 2006 guards Lawrence Westbrook of Chandler, Ariz/Winchendon Prep School, Mass., a Top 100 prospect; and P'Allen Stinnett of Las Vegas-Palo Verde, Nev., have gained releases from Iowa State following the coaching change. ISU recently added sophomore guard Jeremy Fears of Joliet-Joliet Township, Ill., who is transfering from Ohio. Sophomore guard Tasheed Carr of Philadelphia-University, Pa/Mt. Zion Academy, is transfering from the Cyclones I was aware of the Westbrook thing but apparently he's reconsidering already. I don't expect him though. I don't expect Fears either, but I'm really thinking Carr will be back. He seemed to be impressed with McD. Sounds more and more like Blalock and Stinson will not hire agents and waqit to feel their draft position out. This is basically the latest infro from CycloneFanatic.com, a guy who has sources in the AD and has been breaking a lot of stories lately. Of course, a big man would be nice.

Hey Heads (Weather)
I've been here since August and probably 10-15 other times in my life, and when I've been here there's been at least 3 tornados, as well as numerous tstorms. I'm convinced it's me. They were straightline winds last night. It sucks cause it's cold now today, but living here you get used to this stuff. I don't have the same effect on my hometown. One tornado in the past 40 years. Of course, that was an F5 in '68 that f***ed up the town beyond recognition. Apparently then no access was allowed into the town.

Update On Pods
QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 04:54 PM) I believe Ozzie said that it would be a Mackowiak / Ozuna platoon in LF. Well, that doesn't really matter though.....I was getting at if he was DL'd. Who would get called up?

Update On Pods
And if Pods goes on the DL, does that mean it'd be peanut butter jelly....err.... Jerry Owens time?

I highly doubt a Sutton would coach in Norman. I do think Turgeon makes sense.

Well, even though the database is poopy, we went ahead and put a Google Seach on the front page. It searches the forums and the Soxtalk main page. Go ahead, try it out.

Sox want Pods at top of lineup
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 10:52 AM) Owens and Sweeney each have obvious guys who they're in position to replace if everything goes well for them. Owens = Pods and Sweeney = Dye. So IMO, it doesn't really matter who's leapfrogged over whom, if they both have success at AAA this year, then each of them would stand in line to replace the guy they're more like should there be injuries out there. But I do agree with you, I don't think Owens is ready yet, and if nothing else I'd much rather have him complete a season at AAA before we annoint him our new leadoff hitter. Seems like that's gonna be the deal in AAA this year. If Fields is down there, we've got our 3B replacement, a LF and RF replacement, A guy in Chris Stewart who I feel will replace the Widge soon enough....looks like there may actually be a reason to watch this year. But wait.....who's pitching?
