Evidently he's trying to usurp Borch for sexiest outfielder. I'm trying to distract myself from that ISU game.

"Vince Young will be a 2nd day pick"
I think Mike Vick (who I think is overrated, unless of course, you're into Madden 06) shows that you need to be able to pass, and the running aspect isn't terribly important. Let's see if he's actually figured out how to pass.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Jan 28, 2006 -> 01:21 PM) I thought Kansas looked better than they have this year but does Iowa St. have a coach? It looks like they are playing street ball out there. We have a guy that recruits. At this point I'd be more than happy with an assistant - head coach swap, where Morgan would go back to assistant and Archibald became head coach, but that's just unrealistic. At least I have 06-07 to look forward to.

It sucks even more when the alarm goes off again at 1:45 and you get to finally stay in your room at 2:15.

Iowa State must've forgot against Missouri that they can't play defense. Kansas shot 58%.

Reliving High School
QUOTE(Nokona @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 06:43 PM) That is ridiculous. Being a HS student, everyone cheats. If you don't cheat you're behind the curve. I can't remember the last time I did the busy work they give us actually at home. Probably my soph year (im a senior). Sure essays and projects I have no problem doing at home but really it is not that hard to succeed without trying. I got a 3.4 and I probably give about 20%. Sure, I didn't get into Illinois but hey they're losing out on a bright mind. Not everyone cheats. Believe it or not, some people do the work and reap the rewards.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 03:31 PM) I'll be watching Heads, it will be one of the VERY few Big 12 games this year that might not be a total suckfest. I'll also be watching the Red River Shootout tomorrow night, another one which could be good. I'll be in the fifth row, upper right corner of the screen as you watch, in the ISU student section. I'll try and make a scene.

Anyone going to try and catch the Kansas-ISU game at 11 central tomorrow? Hilton's expected to be sold out, and we thoroughly enjoy beating Kansas. I remember on ESPNEWS after they won in Lawerence, this amazing stat had been put up..... ISU's last 6 games in Lawerence: 3-3 Other 10 Big 12 teams in the same period of time: 0-40. I just hope the Clones defend home court, because Hilton will be rocking.

What have you been reading?
QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 06:59 PM) Almost done with "Night". It's a depressing but great book about the Concentration Camps. Short read, very interesting and informative memoir. Started "Moneyball" finally. Not far into it at all, and probably won't finish it for a long time because I have to read "1984" and "Crime and Punishment" for school in the next month. I liked Crime and Punishment, but give yourself some time for it. It's some wordy stuff.

Reliving High School
QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 05:47 PM) You've got this all wrong. If I really believed that my daughter was capable of doing this work on her own & that her social life was getting in the way I would let her fail. I'm doing this because I've reached the point where I no longer think she is capable of doing it on her own. Those that know me know I am driven by logic & numbers. My mind quickly mapped this problem into a state diagram. What I arrived at was a simple conclusion: If she doesn't improve she'll wind up in special ed any ways. Outside of cheating there is no way she can improve her performance on tests without improving her capacity to do homework. If she fails regardless of the path I take the conclusion is inevitable. This is pretty much a no-brainer for an engineer. Maybe she needs an IEP. Speaking as a former board member, this whole thing, if true, makes me throw up a little bit. I can't imagine a high school where a homework load totally prevents a social life. If she's in a private school, then evidently that wasn't the right choice.
