  1. Not that I don't appreciate him being a vet, because I do, but it's still f***ing senseless.

    gettin there
  3. Avisail has been extremely fun to watch. There's no doubt that if he continues to grow, we could have a monster on our hands.
  4. The more time that passes, the more fondly he'll be remembered. If you knew that Robin Ventura was going to do the same thing, but that we'd have a title in 2016, would you be ok with it? I probably would.
  5. If Robin wasn't coming back, yes. Part of me still wishes that we would have went after Francona. I'll go with the guy that's here, though.

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 19, 2013 -> 11:08 PM) So little drunk posting from you all this year. Either you have all completely lamed out or you have gotten smarter about drunk posting in a public forum. Smart money says you just all suck this year. Drink and share, dammit! And this is why Flaxx needs to post more often.

all of you guys sucked this summer.
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 17, 2013 -> 12:02 PM) Hilarious. Just another guy an MLB team wants/needs to get rid of after signing him to a ridiculous contract. Keep signing guys to lucrative long-term deals, general managers and owners. Really makes lot of sense. Almost immediately after signing guys, teams want to rid themselves of these players. Insanity. Could have something to do with his arm falling off immediately after said contract.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 9, 2013 -> 10:41 PM) It probably won't make you feel better about next season Rick is a very comforting man to listen to, at least.
  10. This Hahn interview with Bernstein is pretty damn good.
  11. Beckham's fly outs have even been looking good lately. Nice bit of running by Avi.
  12. Axelrod is trying to get us Rodon, that's all.
  13. Is Axelrod a guy we can nontender after this year? Ha.
  14. Well, looks like we may get to see Garcia bat again tonight.
  15. QUOTE (glangon @ Aug 9, 2013 -> 02:14 AM) Well, That is the non-event that is Casper the Friendly Outfielder gone. He couldn't hit, but he made some nice defensive plays and pitched one hell of an inning. If Casper the Friendly Outfielder can get cliamed off waivers, there is hope for Flowers to be surely....... There is absolutely zero chance that we let Tyler go. Zero.
  16. There is absolutely no way Garcia is not #1.
  17. Needed to happen.
  18. Yeah, the fact that the SEC and B1G are both at 14 will lead to some teams missing some of the big dogs.
  19. Uhhh....Tiger is doing well
  20. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 1, 2013 -> 08:52 PM) Konerko was the #2 prospect in all of baseball entering the 1998 season. His age 21 season in AAA was stellar. It was in the PCL so the numbers are inflated a bit but 37 homers .327 avg over 1.000 OPS is quite impressive from a 21 year old. Yeah, Paulie was supposed to be the Dodgers' catcher of the future.....
  21. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 31, 2013 -> 08:17 AM) The White Sox should ask Paulie if he wants to go someplace else. He has earned it. If Texas or some other contender want him, the Sox, if Paulie wants to go, should make it happen, even if they have to eat everything but the minimum. He probably doesn't because he's the captain and a captain doesn't abandon a sinking ship. I'm guessing this is the case. We heard that Hahn told Peavy every step of the way what was happening. I'm sure he's let Paulie know about any offers.
