Sox vs. Rays @ 6:10 Garcia (3-3 5.68) vs. Price (7-1 2.41)
It's sad to think that they don't have a run in yet, but the game feels over now.

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ May 28, 2010 -> 06:14 PM) Alexis? is there something we should know about? That's his actual name, I believe.

Yay for first and third for Alex Rios. Is Alexei's Midnight Runners funny for a fantasy team name?

Ozzie and KW - what will happen?
QUOTE (knightni @ May 28, 2010 -> 05:21 PM) I think that Oz will be reassigned to Latin America scouting - perhaps working with Krause and Bell. I think that he'd be a natural at teaching the latin kids fundamentals and finding talent. Ozzie would never, ever do that.

NBA playoffs thread
QUOTE (Palehosefan @ May 28, 2010 -> 11:48 AM) I was shocked by Ed Davis' numbers. 6'9 without shoes, 31 inch standing vert, 36 inch vertical, 12 foot jump reach height, 3.21 3/4 sprint. If he ever decides to not be lazy, he's got a lot of potential. I thought for sure he would disappoint in the athletic measurements, and boy was I wrong. PS, I still can't figure out why Craig Brackins isn't getting lotto looks. He's got the size, scoring ability, and athletic ability to be a very good 4 in the NBA. Might be the 6x 185 bench he threw up. He didn't look like a star at ISU, but who knows, always thought he had more of a pro game.

5/27 GT: Sox @ Tampa Bay - 6:10pm CDT
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 27, 2010 -> 07:32 PM) That was actually a really cool piece of analysis by Hawk on the Beckham play. Every once in awhile he makes you realize he’s actually pretty good at his job. He has really random moments of professionalism.

QUOTE (BearSox @ May 27, 2010 -> 04:25 PM) A part of me dies when I see the lineups we put out on the field everyday. Its insanity, but I keep expecting us to put out a real major league lineup when we have at the most 4 legit major league hitters right now. Not sure what other lineup you want out there tonight.

The Soxtalk Committee on Closing
BTW, JJ Putz Pitches 1-30: 14 IP, 11 H, 1 R, 2 HR (somehow? Yahoo?), 3 BB (all after 15 pitches), 17 K. Pitches 31+: .2 IP, 5 R. It would almost seem that he's damn good when his arm isn't about to fall off. If this was my bullpen: Closer: Putz L Setup: Thornton R Setup: Santos Middle Relief: Pena, Linebrink, Jenks Mopup: Jenks, Torres

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
greg, Bobby is putting up raw numbers that would get him sent down on a lot of teams -

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 27, 2010 -> 12:27 AM) Exactly. Why don't most people agree with us on this? You think Putz won't blow f***ing saves if given the job? My god. Because just because Jenks hasn't blown saves doesn't mean he hasn't sucked donkey balls.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 26, 2010 -> 05:35 PM) We are kind of missing the point and that is we did win today. It wasn't pretty but we won The point is we won despite Bobby, not really due to any large contribution from him, other than not sucking worse.

The Soxtalk Committee on Closing
QUOTE (BearSox @ May 26, 2010 -> 05:28 PM) I wish I had that optimism but when you have to put out lineups on a daily basis with Pierzynski as your no. 2 hitter and Kotsay batting 5th, there isn't room for much hope. Either way, I firmly believe this team needs to get either Prince or AG this trade season or in the offseason if we want any chance at competing soon and not wasting this pitching staff (which has vastly underperformed so far, but I still have a lot of faith in this rotation). I just can't go through a season expecting the worst, even if I know it's going to happen. I'm an Iowa State fan, for God's sake. I have to cling to that thinnest shred of hope.

Chat Crew 2010
QUOTE (BobDylan @ May 26, 2010 -> 04:00 PM) I imagine there is an IP Board add-on that can go in the toolbar up top that shows if there is anyone in the chat room. I can look into it if there is any interest in this kind of thing. I can simply look into throwing a link next to where it says "Guidelines".

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 26, 2010 -> 05:23 PM) Maybe it's just me, but I think this 4 game series against the Rays may be the end of that talk. Well, we could very well end tonight 6 back, since the Twins have a frickin block on beating the Yankees. But the Rays series (and the Twins versus Texas) may very well determine the season's course.
