What's your OCD?
QUOTE (lostfan @ Dec 20, 2009 -> 01:01 AM) All the dollar bills in my wallet are arranged with the largest ones in the back, all with the presidents front and up. Whenever I had a cash register all my bills would be in the register like this too. This is true of me also.

What's your OCD?
So, I dropped a little container of paper clips on the floor, and I couldn't rest til they were sorted by size and color (8 different variations). What else do all of you have to have just right and it drives you a little crazy if it isn't?

Top Ten Worst Sox of the Decade
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 17, 2009 -> 07:32 AM) He had nice minor league numbers although he was a bit old for AAA and he posted on Soxtalk or did Q &As or something, so I could understand the sentiment, but he wasn't good. The Sox got Cintron for him. He pitched 1 inning for Arizona and gave up 3 homers. the thing about Baj was he was the nicest f***ing guy in the world. hard not to pull for him.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 19, 2009 -> 12:14 AM) So one of our cats that we've had for about 16 years just died recently. Well, my mom decided to buy a kitten and the thing is very cute but god damn is it annoying. We got a Yorkie puppie. That f***er is endearing.

Yellowstone's Plumbing Goes Down 410 Miles
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 17, 2009 -> 04:08 PM) To within an error of a million years or so, sure. The 1st eruption on the Yellowstone site was 2 million years ago, the 2nd was 1.2 million years ago, the 3rd was 640,000 years ago. That would imply a 600,000 or so year recurrence interval if things were that simple. They aren't. Lots of other things are necessary to build up a big eruption; certian cooling conditions and mineralogical conditions in the crust. Good example is the hydrothermals in Yellowstone right now. They've been extra, extra active for the last 100,000 years or so. They're pumping out so much heat right now that if they kept going at this rate, within the next 500,000 years they'd probably cool the whole magma chamber. Can't say we know why it's so active of a system right now. So.....give us a day to watch out for.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 17, 2009 -> 12:18 PM) How the hell could a cable company have a dispute and not show channel Fox. It is an over the air channel for pete sake that anyone and there brother could get for free with a set of rabbit ears? The Fox stations and the CBS station in Eastern Iowa and the Fox station in Central Iowa are all owned by Sinclair Communications and they are raising the price to rebroadcast their signal, so it will be pulled.

And no one in eastern or central Iowa will be able to watch Iowa or Iowa State's bowl games without a dish (or rabbit ears for Hawk fans). ISU game is on NFL Network, but there's now a disagreement between the owners of the Fox stations and Mediacom, the cable company that dominates Iowa. Both sides are really pessimistic that Mediacom will be showing Fox programming after the New Year.

IL Prison Will House Gitmo Detainees
A lot of what I'm reading is that this will benefit a bunch of Iowans in Clinton, too, as that's the biggest city nearest the prison.

Sox sign Putz
If we were going to trade Jenks, I think we would have paid DJ.

could be something (most likely not)
I really feel like at this point we're going to seriously investigate Vlad.

Would You Deal Jenks to Philly
I guess I just don't like the idea of getting rid of Bobby.

QUOTE (ptatc @ Dec 14, 2009 -> 04:23 PM) 1. KW spent his money for next season on Peavy and Rios at the end of last season. I don't know what big money move you were expecting but the expectioins should not have been very high. 2. I see you don't care for the contracts of Jenks, Linebrink and Konerko and think they are weighing down the possibilites of KW making a move. Most GMs seem to agree with you and nobody wants them and their contracts. If KW were to make a trade with any of them, he would need to eat so much of the contract it would n't give enough salary relief to be of any benefit. So again I'm not sure why you would have expected any big off season acquisitions when it was pretty obvious KW did most of his big acquisitions at the end of last year. ding ding ding Peavy and Rios were our offseason pickups.

QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 13, 2009 -> 12:11 AM) Perhaps, but Iowa St is a natural rival with Iowa; and Missouri would be more travel than ISU. Missouri would be more $ for the Big 10.

Official 2009-2010 NCAA Football Thread
Mizzou makes the most sense because it's an untapped market. ISU wouldn't deliver anything new, though there's a growing movement of Cyclone fans that would seemingly embrace that idea. I'm not sure I'd like the idea of another Texas school in the conference though.

White Sox Non-Tender DJ Carrasco
QUOTE (daggins @ Dec 12, 2009 -> 09:01 PM) He has Nats written all over him. Hell he'd probably be their third best starter right now. I thought exactly the same thing right before I read your post.
