  1. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Mar 13, 2017 -> 10:52 PM) Don't, just don't. It's too soon.
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ Mar 13, 2017 -> 10:24 PM) You aren't concerned? Let's say opening day Frazier hits a three run homer to put us up late and Robertson gets a save by striking out the side. How sad to read ... "GOOD now we can trade Frazier especially if he can hit 20 home runs by June 10!" "GOOD, Robertson looks good this year. We can surely move him soon!!" Ugh. Me thinks you won't have greg around much this season to all your delights. Our announcers should just copy the fans' lead and talk incessantly about trades and needing to lose. "The pitch to Frazier ... you can put it on the board.... yes! This is gonna help build Frazier's trade value Stone Pony. You know if he keeps this up we could get 2-3 good prospects even though he's a free agent to be." Pony: "Amen Hawk. However it would be nice if the Sox found a way to lose this game. We don't need to be winning games. The draft is the important thing for this rebuild. Nice home run by Frazier, but I'd be OK with a bullpen implosion about now!" Dare I say it?
  3. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Mar 13, 2017 -> 09:02 PM) With 550-600 at bats maybe he hits .285 with 20-25 HR's then what, huh huh ? Then he's on the team until what... 2022?
  4. I have a feeling Rutherford will be Benintendi-lite in about 6 months time. Meaning, he's gonna crush it and become an off the table asset.
  5. 3 up 3 down for Fulmer. 2 Ks
  6. His double against the Dodgers late last night was impressive. 1.) He was out in front and off the ball a bit 2.) He didn't make solid contact 3.) The ball still hit off the wall and could have been a home run at the cell / great down arrow field On the other side of the coin, he looked completely lost in the 4 at bats prior to this
  7. FANTASTIC DIVING PLAY. Ball got stuck on the transfer but boy oh boy did he show range there!!!
  8. Moncada bats for the third time in the inning... rips a first pitch fastball down to first. Very comfortable swing. Solid contact. Great play or it would have been a double. He slid head first into the bag with the defender also sliding into the bag. That was his Puig moment.
  9. Everything I've read since we acquired him says he'all remain at second.
  10. Well - he just hit a deep fly ball off the left field wall that wasn't hit square. Looked like he had a little hesitation on his swing too. Shows how amazing his power potential is. Still looked lost.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 12, 2017 -> 09:05 PM) He tries to be too patient at the plate and ends up only getting a swing or two every at bat to put the ball in play. I'm hopeful it will improve but this spring has definitely shown his two main warts (k and fielding) In the at bats I've seen so far he's the poster boy image of "star prospect pressing too hard." Hopefully we'll all start seeing his instincts take over and he can relax a bit. For a highly touted prospect like him, that can be a big part of the journey in and of itself. Do what got you this far... not what you think you need to do to prove yourself.
  12. QUOTE (Wanne @ Mar 12, 2017 -> 09:03 PM) lift your little pinky fingers while you watch... Pooo poooo poooo - mkay.
  13. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 12, 2017 -> 08:59 PM) I was trying to make a joke about the game thread being gone, not taking a shot at you. Anyway, yeah Moncada one k away from a sombrero. How dare thou bring about the poopmonster while neglecting thy toilet paper!!!
  14. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 12, 2017 -> 07:46 PM) If only there were a game thread to discuss this. Oh wait... Oh wait... the thread for today's games doesn't exist, so far as I can see... Edit: Yea, it's already been archived for some reason. God forbid we discuss Moncada in a Moncada thread.
  15. QUOTE (Elgin Slim @ Mar 12, 2017 -> 07:44 PM) Yes. Moncada should not start at AAA, I'd start him at AA if I was Hahn. He should also not see any Major League time until September at the earliest unless he proves otherwise. By proving otherwise, he'd have to absolutely destroy AA and AAA( like .350/.425/.975 or better) to get called up before September. Moncada could still be a star, but he's clearly nowhere close to ready. He needs to spend the entire season in the minors, IMO. Yep. No reason to even put him in AAA at this point. Edit: Well, here's the only reason I could see an assignment to AAA - if they felt he couldn't find big leauge breaking stuff in AA AND if they believed that he could overcome his issues against such competition. That said, put him in AA.
  16. Dudes looked lost at the plate this spring.
  17. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Mar 12, 2017 -> 06:06 PM) All three have been/will be interviewed for it, but it's not something on their radar. Trying to get MLB Network to take it. Good on ya man!
  18. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Mar 2, 2017 -> 11:48 AM) Kickstarter isn't done yet, so feel free to donate. Too bad someone can't get this in front of Alexi, Abreu, or Moncada. They'd gladly drop some coin. Hope it goes off well and ends up getting bought by some network.
  19. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Mar 12, 2017 -> 03:49 PM) Did you finger it out Of course... the way it ended up sounds funny thou when you speak it out phonetically Edit: I finger you understand as well...
  20. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Mar 12, 2017 -> 12:08 PM) Wut Remember this offseason there was some hack who claimed to have insider info that Obama was buying the team?
  21. QUOTE (Tony @ Mar 12, 2017 -> 12:09 PM) It sounds and looks VERY different than what we are used to. I'm looking forward to seeing what the Soxtalk member who is in attendance has to say Gotta love Soxtalk
