  1. QUOTE (ChiSoxJon @ Sep 29, 2017 -> 05:34 PM) I'd prefer to see Polo at Charlotte, Fisher in WS, and Rutherford in KAN It's so nice to see Hawkins not starting!
  2. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Sep 29, 2017 -> 10:52 PM) No circumstance possible? Did you consider the circumstance where Iguchi calls him and says "White Sox. Fun team."? I should just select the "ignore" option for this entire thread... oh wait, there isn't one.
  3. QUOTE (Real @ Sep 29, 2017 -> 10:34 PM) So which players should I be researching that fall in the top 5 picks? And which are gonna likely fall to the sox? From the 2018 MLB Draft thread in the Future Sox Board: QUOTE (hi8is @ Sep 29, 2017 -> 08:58 PM) The closer this season gets to its conclusion, the more contented I am with our position in this draft class. Hahn and Co. have been singing the "deep draft, no clear number 1" tune for sometime... and that mantra is beginning to finally sink in for me. Say that hypothetically we're selecting in the 4th slot and the first 3 picks go down like this: 1.) Singer 2.) Madrigal 3.) Turang I'd then be stoked for them to pick up Hankins, Kelenic, Kowar, Rocker, and even Beer if his 2018 performance puts him back in the top mix. An interesting guy to watch will be Tristan Beck. I'm in no way suggestion him as an option for our top pick but it'll be fun to follow him. Just gotta put the faith in Hostetler that they'll get the PBA with our #1 selection... even if it isn't ending up being the 1:1 slot. If one of those "designated" top 3 are replaced with another player I've listed - then, well... you do the math. All in all - it's too early to tell.
  4. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 29, 2017 -> 10:17 PM) Through 160 (Magic numbers to have higher pick): 1. Tigers 63-97 (SF-2, Phi-1) 2. Giants 63-97 (Det-3, Phi-1) 3. Phillies 65-95 (Det-4, SF-4, Sox-1) 4. White Sox 66-94 (Phi-4, Cin-2) 5. Reds 67-93 (Phi-4, Sox-3) Not just one Magic Number for "myself and the confused idiot bunch" but 11! ( In all seriousness - I'm glad you're having fun with this flavum )
  5. QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 29, 2017 -> 06:05 PM) Elaborate. QUOTE (Quin - elaborated by hi8is @ Sep 29, 2017 -> 09:51 PM) Otani is not, under any circumstance, coming to the Sox. There ya go. Elaboration complete.
  6. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 29, 2017 -> 08:42 PM) Tigers lost. Sox will pick 3rd, 4th, or 5th. Giants up. If they win, Tigers move up to 1. Please royally suck major ass, Mets. Please royally kick major ass, Indians.

  8. QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Sep 29, 2017 -> 09:25 AM) Nick Madrigal appears to be high in everyone's rankings and has drawn comps to Altuve and Pedroia. He seems to be the type of player the new Sox evaluation system would value very highly. Good call man - if Madrigal has that type of potential, I'd be all for him joining our infield in the future. Who'd move to third? I don't know enough about him to even speculate if he projects to be better than Anderson at SS... if the Sox would Moncada be willing or confident in his skills at third... if Timmy could indeed play center as some have speculated... or if Madrigal himself has the chops to stick out there. Boy, we're going to have some interesting positional "log jam-esq" problems soon if the next couple of years unfold like they can. I'd be up for selecting Madrigal just because it'd be fun to hear his name announced during games for the next ~7 years.
  9. QUOTE (GermanSock @ Sep 29, 2017 -> 09:17 AM) Definitely don't sign a mediocre top pick for a second rounder. Potatoes grow in the ground.
  10. QUOTE (GenericUserName @ Sep 28, 2017 -> 11:44 AM) ... we will probably have a pick around 45 ... QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Sep 29, 2017 -> 07:49 AM) Sox 2nd pick should be between 44-50 somewhere. Uh - was it really necessary to "correct" GenericUserName... you're both basically saying the same exact thing. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Sep 29, 2017 -> 08:56 AM) White Sox 2nd rounder will likely be in the 42-46 range. Man, you're really on the ball with this one!
  11. QUOTE (GenericUserName @ Sep 29, 2017 -> 06:42 AM) Joe Gray Jr. @ 28 That's surprising as well... quite a fall off for this young man in the past ~2 years.
  12. QUOTE (Quin @ Sep 28, 2017 -> 11:01 AM) Now I keep hoping Beer is available in round 2... Yea, what a trip - currently listed at #20 on that overview of the top college players ( for those who didn't bother clicking the link ). Perhaps it isn't too gaudy to hope Beer himself tanks next year and we're able to snatch him in the second. Stranger things have happened.
  13. QUOTE (oldsox @ Sep 29, 2017 -> 06:47 PM) Why is that so cool? Just a bunch of lineup changes for the worst team in baseball/ I love you

Who do you all follow and what are any thoughts you'd like to share regarding any of our players based on their social media profile? Luis Robert - as an example... is an extremely vain young kid.
  15. QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Sep 29, 2017 -> 11:14 AM) I think the uptick in production can be explained by a 9.4% BB rate and 18% K rate in the 2nd half. If he can maintain those numbers, 4 WAR RF is a legitimate possibility for him moving forward. Wow, had no idea his second half saw such a great strike out percentage! Atta boy Avi! ??
  16. Pretty cool thing will be happening on Sunday: http://mlb.com/r/article?ymd=20170928&...et&c_id=det
  17. Eloy all the way. Muck the Astros and muck the Pirates.
  18. Give me a Moncada bomb, an Andreson triple, and Delmoaco blast, and two singles for Avi. That'd be just about the perfect Tank win in this game. Phillies up by 2 in the 5th and Detroit up by 3 early. Please baseball gods - in the next 3... White Sox: 0 - 3 Phillies: 3 - 0 Detroit: 3 - 0 Yea, ain't happening -- but, baseball.
  19. I knew all we needed was a little Cleveland to get us back into losing. Please God have the Phillies and Tigers magically sweep the Mets and Twins.
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 29, 2017 -> 03:44 PM) A guy who is hitting for that low of an average is going to not see nearly as many walks at the upper levels. People are putting way too much faith into pitchers going around him if he isn't hitting. Pitchers with control at the upper levels aren't going to give him nearly as much. If his hit tool doesn't return he will be a bust. Such a large part of his OPS right now is based on walks. If he doesn't get them, he isn't worth nearly as much. He's had 506 minor league at bats while not working much on refining his swing. It's way to early to make speculations about his projection at the MLB level. The dudes a prospect - and a good one at that. Let's just all agree to sit on the fence with him and keep an eye on how he does in 2018 on both sides of the ball.
  21. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 29, 2017 -> 02:09 PM) Here comes the Reds bullpen to blow this. 4-2 Reds, 2 outs, 2nd and 3rd. Come on! God damn it. 5 - 4 Cubs. f***ing Happ hit a 3 run bomb.
  22. QUOTE (credezcrew24 @ Sep 29, 2017 -> 01:04 PM) An OPS of over 800 doesn't equal a bad bat, especially at the catcher position. Whole heartedly agree and I also feel like 2018 will see Collin's making major improvements to his offensive side. The kids just getting started and all things considered, it has been a good start.
  23. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Sep 28, 2017 -> 10:43 PM) Sox just can't help themselves but f*** this up. 0.5 games ahead of the Reds with the 5th pick This s***s gettin scary. Thank the Tank God for Cleveland! ??
  24. QUOTE (credezcrew24 @ Sep 28, 2017 -> 01:41 PM) Collins was first Burdi was a comp Hansen was the third pick by the White Sox but as a second rounder
  25. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 28, 2017 -> 02:18 PM) Siera Santos‏Verified account @SieraSantos 3m3 minutes ago Rick Hahn on areas needed to improve-on in offseason: "We shot a big hole through our bullpen." Priceless - I love this dude
