Rodon has minor shoulder surgery
I trust the opinion of our resident expert Ptatc more so than any other "source"... internal or external. I'll await his word before expressing anything else. ??

QUOTE (Sleepy Harold @ Sep 28, 2017 -> 10:41 AM) BA College Top 50 Draft Prospects 2018 FYI, Seth Beer checks in at #17 Hell... maybe it isn't so asinine to pine for him to have a mediocre season this upcoming year - allowing us to pluck him early in the second round... ala the surprise Hanson 2016 third round pickup.

Can Rodon become a quality mlb starter?
QUOTE (raBBit @ Sep 26, 2017 -> 11:19 AM) We will have closure on Rodon by the end of the week. After you've been largely absent lately, you come back and drop a bomb like this... I love you, man.

Angels at Sox: Lopez hitting 99mph early

Angels at Sox: Lopez hitting 99mph early
It would be huge if we can pick up a game on Detroit and Philly tonight. Side note - are these boobs?

Angels at Sox: Lopez hitting 99mph early
Nationals have the bases loaded with 1 out trailing the Phillies by 1 in the 5th. Edit: tie game. Meh. Tigers up 2 - 0 on KC early. There's hope?

Angels at Sox: Lopez hitting 99mph early
I'd love to see him go 8IP with 13K entroute to a 2 - 1 loss that we blow in the ninth. Our only run to come from a Moncada-Bomb. Ain't happening... but I can dream.

2018 MLB Draft
QUOTE (GenericUserName @ Sep 26, 2017 -> 08:16 AM) New Perfect Game 2018 Draft Top 150 Ranking Newly updated top 150 ranking needs a subscription, so if anyone has that and wants to share that would be awesome. The top 10 that they do show is interesting though. 1 Ethan Hankins RHP Forsyth Central (GA) 2 Jarred Kelenic OF Waukesha West (WI) 3 Ryan Rolison LHP Mississippi 4 Casey Mize RHP Auburn 5 Kumar Rocker RHP North Oconee (GA) 6 Jackson Kowar RHP Florida 7 Nick Madrigal 2B Oregon State 8 Brice Turang SS Santiago (CA) 9 Shane McClanahan LHP South Florida 10 Nander De Sedas SS Montverde Academy (FL) I think the big things that stick out to me are that Singer is not even in the top 10, Rolison is #3, and Turang all the way down at #8. It does make me feel better about how much I like Kelenic, but gets me scared that he won't be there when we pick. Hankins at #1 puts the question out there again if a HS RHP will ever go #1. Hah - love it. s***s gonna be flux city for us all to follow like rabbid dogs ?

Just realized that over the past 10 games we've matched the Giants and Phillies - all teams played .500 ball. Oh what could have been.

Moncada to get MRI
QUOTE (ptatc @ Sep 25, 2017 -> 05:04 PM) Yep. I said when they held him out the last time that he would need the offseason before he was going to heal. He will need to modify an offseason workout to take the stress off the lower leg and work with different footwear. Ah yes, I recall that distinctly now. ????

Moncada to get MRI
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 25, 2017 -> 03:14 PM) Shins are bothering him again I saw this thread on the homepage and just about s*** a brick. A reoccurrence is expected from my ( highly naive mostly uninformed opinion ). Thank god that we're almost to the offseason, I trust ( and pray ) that he'll get himself healthy. Excuse me while I back away from the ledge and feverishly search for ptatc's insight somewhere herein.

Are we allowed to get nervous about Moncada at this point?
QUOTE (Sox-35th @ Sep 24, 2017 -> 07:23 AM) Stolen bases are overrated as a stat. They're nice, but an out is a lot of risk. I guess you don't remember Scotty Pods in the 2005 year. Or perhaps your second statement kinda alludes to your stance... if you've got speed which equates to a high success rate ( low risk ) then a burner can ignite an offense and put pressure on the opposing team in a couple of ways. Moncada clearly has game changing speed. Dudes electric!

Can Rodon become a quality mlb starter?
QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Sep 24, 2017 -> 09:46 AM) Story in Sun-Times this morning. Quotes Rodon a lot. Sox apparently STILL can't figure out what's wrong with him: http://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/white-s...ry-on-shoulder/ This whole Rodon thing has EASILY been the absolute definitively WORST part of 2017. Unless you somehow believed Charlie Tilson was the second coming of Ken Griffey Jr.

Trade avi in the offseason?
QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Sep 23, 2017 -> 10:32 PM) I'm not sold that Avi will generate enough lift to truly tap into his power potential. I hope I'm wrong but 30+ walks per year and less than 20HR's is just not impressive from the RF position. It's kinda moot anyway because even if Avi is on the Sox next year he will be moved from RF when Eloy is ready. Avi can't stop that runaway freight train. Can't believe I didn't notice his low walk totals. He's gonna be a VERY interesting guy to watch next year and with regard to his development of power - we'll see. This time last year everyone was clamoring to offload the dude. Now the big question is can he take the next step on his power tool? I'll take that to the bank and be stoked. The beauty really is it being moot. If he takes the next step, awesome. Sign him to an extension at that point and pencil him in as an all-star corner and put him as a fixture in the middle of your lineup for a few years with other upcoming bats flanking him. If not, oh well - we've got options and money to spend. Where the White Sox sit - it's a thing of beauty.
