  1. It opens up the door to trade rios or de aza. This line up looks juicy... 3B - Kipp RF - Rios CF - Hamelton 1B - Konerko DH - Dunn SS - Rameriz LF - Tank C - Flowers 2B - Bacon Get rid of Floyd, Thornton, De Aza, and open up the purse strings. Give me McCarthy in this pipe dream too.
  2. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 6, 2012 -> 01:16 PM) The only way they'd even begin to have room for that would be dealing Floyd and Thornton, and I just don't think that'd be a very smart move. I like it obviously, my brain is dreaming it up. Lol
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 6, 2012 -> 08:08 AM) Jon Heyman ‏@JonHeymanCBS If the #chisox can clear money (look away gavin floyd), they will start thinking seriously about a big hitter, likely a lhh I actually had a dream last night that we traded Floyd and deaza and signed Hamilton.
  4. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Dec 5, 2012 -> 02:53 PM) Mark Gonzales ‏@MDGonzales Hahn: no marching orders to shed payroll AKA... Smokescreen: we don't have to trade anyone and only will if you give us what we want.
  5. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Dec 5, 2012 -> 01:25 PM) Could it be time to package Floyd and Viciedo, and add LH bat with a difference maker in the outfield? One would think this is the last offseason that any mystery surrounds DV's value. I personally think it will be a mistake to trade Viciedo. Last year was his first full time season and it was a success in my eyes. He had his struggles but the guy just has too much going for him to trade in his sophomore year. For me, you don't even consider trading him until the 2014 off-season. It's still my contention and hope that he becomes one of the best 5 hole hitters in the league.
  6. QUOTE (Baron @ Dec 4, 2012 -> 09:52 PM) Jon Morosi ‏@jonmorosi Jack Hannahan has interest from teams on major league deals. #WhiteSox and #Marlins among suitors. @MLBONFOX https://twitter.com/jonmorosi Gross to be compared with the Marlins. Please no.
  7. QUOTE (GoGoSox2k2 @ Dec 4, 2012 -> 07:21 PM) Bucket.. So by saying rick has lots of plates spinning tonight, do you think by tomorrow Rick makes a move That's like asking a circus clown if he is going to drop a ball while juggling during his next performance. He has no ******* idea. The fact that he's got the insight to know that many things are in the air, is cool enough in and of itself. Just my opinion, like everything else.
  8. I'm starting to think that we do end up signing AJ to finish his career with us.... One could construe recent White Sox media communications to be positioning Flowers as a trade chip. Floyd + Flowers? I love and hate this time of year when it comes to baseball.
  9. QUOTE (Sockin @ Dec 4, 2012 -> 08:09 AM) Sox are interested in bringing back Brandon McCarthy. Perfect fit IMO. http://www.rantsports.com/mlb/2012/12/04/w..._medium=twitter Trade Floyd and take McCarthy for a 2 year 12.5 million contract. Put the other 3M towards a 3rd baseman... or have Jerry pony up some more to resign AJ.
  10. QUOTE (Paint it Black @ Dec 3, 2012 -> 11:19 AM) With the Red Sox signing Napoli doesn't a trade for Ryan Lavarnway make at least some sense for this club? I know he's a bad defensive catcher, but there just isn't that much out there. Doesn't Lavarnway seem to project as less than Flowers. I don't know enough about him to evaluate but based on numbers, it seems like Flowers is actually the closer candidate between these two.
  11. QUOTE (beck72 @ Dec 3, 2012 -> 08:08 PM) O's reporter stating they're interested in Floyd. Makes sense that a team like the O's may pay top dollar for a guy like Floyd. The O's need dependable arms. Only had 1 guy make 30 starts. Gavin had made 30 four years in a row prior to last when he made 29. And he's from the Maryland area. If the O's would pull the trigger, now's the time with them actually being decent, contending and should afford a salary like Floyd's. https://twitter.com/masnRoch/statuses/275728077949128706 I like hearing that multiple parties are in on Floyd. It also seems like Hahn is doing a great job in being a bit more patient while allowing markets to develop.
  12. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Oct 29, 2012 -> 12:22 AM) Move's I'd make... Fantasy owner of the year award for 2013 has already been decided. You win.
  13. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Oct 30, 2012 -> 05:13 PM) My "Big board" for 3B is: ... 6. Robin Ventura 7. Brent Morel
  14. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Oct 30, 2012 -> 05:29 PM) We didn't lose the division to Detroit, we lost it vs. KC imo. That's the pisser. Our record against both KC and DET was horrific.
  15. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Oct 30, 2012 -> 04:08 PM) I don't mean to rain on this parade, but I'm going to right now: feel free to ignore me The Choke-ago White Sox left a bad taste in my mouth by choking in the last 3 weeks of the regular season. Bringing back the same guys who contributed to that choke does not fill me with a bunch of confidence. Now I realize the choke was not really the fault of the pitching staff but...I will save my happiness until I see some good moves being made with the offense, and by that I mean bringing in some new blood and not just resigning the same old guys who choked. flame shields activated No need to flame. This was your first year posting here RZZZA... most of us here are long accustom to disappointment and have no hesitations about griping. In my eyes, Peavy was one of the reasons we stayed in the game until the final month of the year. The downfall really was in the following to me: 1.) Quintina and Sale wearing down 2.) Declining PK performance post All-Star break 3.) Losing Danks to start the year 4.) Santiago / Thronton woes 5.) Peavy choking in some big games 6.) A first year manager I've got hope for 2013 but they really do need to address 3B and catcher. I'd also like to explore other options in Centerfield but DeAza isn't a bad fail safe. Hope that 2013 can be a good year and I'm hoping for: 1.) Sale Improvements with Strength/Stamina 2.) Peavy Improvements with Strength/Stamina 3.) Quintana Improvements with Strength/Stamina 4.) Alexi preforms to his offensive potential 5.) Beckham finally preforms to his offensive potential 6.) PK's wrist holds up and we get 3/4 of a year of Paulie instead of 1/2 a year 7.) Robin and staff gel better and make some better late game choices 8.) A better record against the Central ( tigers specifically ) 9.) A great bounce back year from Danks After just following 162 games in 2012 - yes, it was disappointing but I saw it coming a mile away. We where tired. Some of the major pieces to our success where limping to the finish line. Next year, I hope we come back stronger and at least win the division. Detroit should be improved thou too. Urg.
  16. Since the game is on fox, any idea how us MLB.tv reliant out of towners can do to watch?
  17. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 05:27 PM) MLB.tv says it has had "too many attempts by this email/pass combination recently" Odd. Maybe they where hit with a hack attempt. My account had me login to my own account again on my apple tv and my iPad. 'twas very odd indeed...
  18. I'll take innings like that all day oh Great Light
  19. QUOTE (ROC Sox Fan @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 05:23 PM) Glad I wasn't alone. Game back now though. Praise The Jesus! May we all please bow and offer to The Baseball Jesus, an intention of pitching greatness from Lariano. He will harness control Lord. It is so....
  20. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 05:16 PM) Anyone else having problems with MLB.tv? Double that. f*** them mlbtv demigods.
  21. I like thinking of trade speculation threads that end in either of the two.... "WILLRICK?" Or "RICKWILL!" They both apply and are fun.
  22. QUOTE (staxx @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 03:35 PM) Exactly my thoughts. I think KW may be burnt out and wants to take a step back. Think so as well... It'll be a Hahn / Williams duo but I really do think Rick will be holding the reins. Kenny will always be overseeing the journey. It's like tag team wrestling - lol. Go Hahn! Go Kdub! Go SOX! Screw Guthrie!!! Win, just bleeping win! And give me more stars outta our farm. Sales durability has been shocking and for me is somewhat comforting. Beckham is quietly putting together his offensive game. The next couple years could show rapid improvement. Bullpen farm hands abound. Hopefully Qunitana also gets better. Fingers crossed that Molina can get back on track... either he or Castro need to amount to at least a number three. Just one of the two... Please! Keep pulling Nate Jones types. I like our organization damnit and even did when they sucked it up. I'm just waiting for Frank Thomas II... Maybe we drafted him this year. Appreciate the game ladies and gents! 15 more until October time! Let's get in it and get on a flipping ROLL!
  23. It's this time of year that I miss living in southern California. However, if I hadn't moved to Portland, then I'd have missed a perfect game and the Sox walloping the Marines. At least I get to see em every year for three to six in Seattle! Enjoy the big A. Fingers crossed for a Sox series win!
  24. Thank bleeping Kansas City! We're getting lucky and need to run off another winning streak. Bring it!
  25. mlb.TV down for anyone else?
