QUOTE (oldsox @ Jun 4, 2012 -> 05:47 PM) We sign him, hopefully. Then he goes to Bristol this year, then Kanny next year, then W-S in 2014, then three yrs at Charlotte. Geez, I'll have to change my name to OlderSox. Good luck, youngster. 7 years in the minors - putting him in the bigs at 26??? If that happens - he's a bust. I'd hope to see him up by the time he's 22 or 23

Hard not to like him after seeing those limited clips of him. Could be a very special kid. My only gripe is passing on giolato... either gio or Hawkins was a good choice for long term development. I like the pick.

Sweet one of Gio or stroman will be there

QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 4, 2012 -> 05:10 PM) She does appear to be quite the cunning linguist.

Only three more picks ahead of us. Think all three will be going for pitching? I think not.

Very nice indeed - and I'm a professional internet developer / ui designer. As if any subjective opinion really matters. Put it up mods!?!???

I hate fox - cant watch the game

Last I recall was early last year at home with Alexi at the plate against Oakland. Though, surely there is a more recent example - I just remember because I was there.

How about Arrogant Doubles Machine? I'd be happy to call him that

Chris Sale is now the CLOSER?!/Until he's not (Update)

QUOTE (robinventura23 @ May 4, 2012 -> 02:59 PM) somebody has to go when Crain comes back. I say either Santiago or Ohman is the odd man out. They're not going to drop Ohman when Santiago has options. -

QUOTE (fathom @ May 4, 2012 -> 02:57 PM) So next year's rotation is Danks, Humber, Axelrod, Stewart and Santiago/Molina Welcome to circa pre 2005 again and the ever revolving 4th / 5th start spots. -
Chris Sale is now the CLOSER?!/Until he's not (Update)
hi8is replied to Steve9347's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Health and longevity have always been a concern for Sale. Seems to me that they've evaluated his risk of injury against projected IP and came to the conclusion that he'd be safer back in the pen.... Which leads me to believe that he will never amount to anything more than an elite bullpen arm. Hope I'm wrong - that'd be sad. -
Any update regarding the game time / potential start time?

What is this miraculous thing we're seeing here called offense?

QUOTE (daggins @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 05:51 PM) crap You Sir ( or Maam ) are a profound thinker.

The reality of it is that we don't yet know who the 2012 White Sox are. Based on what we've seen and what potential is there - they could actually end up playing to a .600+ clip. Conversely, they could end up playing to a .500 or below clip again. These next two full months will tell a lot and by the all-star break - this question should really be answered. The players on the field will tell us - until then, it's all just conjecture on our part... Which is the point of this forum.

After the first 20 games the Sox sit at a .500 clip. Thus far we've seen some great games, some extremely dominating performances, and some very encouraging signs. Adam Dunn has a OBP of .356 with 7 doubles, 4 home runs, and 14 RBI. AJ has really been strong - hitting well over .300 with a team leading 17 RBI. Rios has looked like a new player - his head is in the game, he only has 1 error thus far, and on the offensive side of the field he's hitting line drives with authority all over the field. Paulie is showing no signs of regression and is crushing the ball. The first 10 games our pitching was lights out. I believe during that stretch we where throwing to a 2.86 clip in terms of team ERA. Santiago had 3 saves and a respectable 3.00 ERA Peavy, Sale, Floyd, Danks, and Humber looked to be all turning in stellar performances. Since then, we've seen Danks in two poor outings - ugly blown saves from Santiago - and some inept offense to boot. Beckham is off to another 2011 type year with the bat. Morel has started off slower than molasses. Viecido has shown some nice power and an improved approach at the plate - but he is off to a slow start too. Alexei is off to another slow start as well. We've seen a couple of nice stretches of baseball and a couple of really poor showings as well. The team shows signs of being true competitors and also shows signs of being unexperienced too. Who are the 2012 White Sox? Are they a team who gives up 20 runs in two games? Are they a team who gives up 2 run leads to poor teams like the Oakland A's and the Baltimore Orioles? or are they a team that can beat elite offensive teams like the Tigers, Rangers, and Red Sox? We'll see starting today. Hopefully they can win these next two and run off on a nice 8 game winning streak. Who this team is remains to be seen. I like what I've seen to date, even through the poor performances and slow starts. This year will be fun to watch.

Viciedo will be fun to watch as he develops. The wait is not over as this is just his first opportunity as an every day player. This thread makes me yawn.

How about... The Silent One
