Nah, I think they just realize Owens f***ing sucks.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 11:52 AM) You can definately pen some things. Let me know if you prefer getting messages with ideas or writing suggestions (kind of more structured) or if you prefer to find topics you like an write about them. I'm good with getting suggestions -- but still finding my own topics if they come to me (as long as I run it by you though).

So are the bloggers all set or is there any way I can still pen a few things?

QUOTE(BearSox @ Mar 13, 2008 -> 09:48 PM) Did I ever say we shouldn't use stats? Give me a break. You say I am entitled to my opinion, and my opinion is that stats are overrated. I never said they can't be used as a barometer to judge how good or bad a player is. I just think there should be more then .ops to determine if someone is good or not. For example (this isn't the best example, but I think it helps my point about stats), if some piece of crap like Darin Erstad got 10 bloop doubles in 10 AB's, he would have fantastic stats. However, if Stan Musial hit 10 straight line shots to the centerfielder in 10 AB's, but all of them were caught, he would have s*** stats. Now, statistically speaking, Stan the Man would suck but Erstad is godly. Now tell me, would that make Erstad a better player then Stan the Man? Heavens no. And while I have only seen about 3 or 4 sox games this spring totalling up to about maybe 8 Anderson AB's... how many time have you seen him to declare that he has actually improved his swing and actually improved rather then hit a hot streak? My opinion is Brian Anderson sucks and 2 good weeks hardly proves anything besides a hot streak. If you don't like that and think it's a hissy fit... I'll take a line from Rhet Butler: "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn." Care to address July-August of 2006?

I would much rather have Swish come up with Cabrera on base then have Cabrera come up with Swish on base.
-
I would much, much rather have Cabrera-Swisher then 3-4-5.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 12, 2008 -> 09:41 PM) JD has a no trade clause this season. Yet another reason why that was a bad move, regardless of his great second half.
-
The best thing for this organization would be a young, cheap, outstanding outfield of Swish-BA-Quentin 2009 and beyond. I like JD, but his defense is fading quickly and a good first half should allow for a decent deadline move.
-
QUOTE(BearSox @ Mar 12, 2008 -> 09:13 PM) So what... Every player has hot streaks, even ones with as weak of a stick as Anderson's. I am not arguing not to give him another chance, all I am saying is that he sucks and will NEVER ever do anything in the majors. Maybe he will be a 4th OF defensive replacement type of bench player in the majors, but that is all. Were you sleeping through July-August of 2006? You talk about him like he's Jerry Owens or something.

QUOTE(BearSox @ Mar 12, 2008 -> 07:06 PM) Funny how a couple weeks of good ball vs. mainly crap pitching can now turn Brian Anderson from trash (which I still stand by that he is) to the "awesomest" player of all time. Unless Anderson did a major overhaul with his stance, approach at plate, and swing in general, he will stand no chance, once again, in the majors. But Ryan Sweeney is going to be a star!
-
QUOTE(BobDylan @ Mar 12, 2008 -> 05:46 AM) Carlos Lee? I guess he wasn't above average in the field, but he was average enough. The ass in me kind of wants Carlos Quentin to suck balls because I don't understand the love here. A short clip of statistical averageness and there's a cream fest for him. I mean, yeah, I hope he's Babe Ruth out there... but... just...stop. You are so off base.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Mar 10, 2008 -> 04:00 PM) We are the worst organization in baseball. If this is a swipe at me, I don't get it. I was backing you up. The Crede minion is running in circles. And I stand by that statement. We are going nowhere.
-
You are running in circles.

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Mar 10, 2008 -> 12:52 PM) I don't get all the discontent. They have some decisions to make - so what? At least they have choices. (insert live body here) over Uribe and Quentin over Owens are not decisions, they're no brainers.
-
We are the worst organization in baseball.

QUOTE(BearSox @ Mar 5, 2008 -> 11:19 PM) that trade is pissing me off more and more. Every time I watch Ramirez play I keep think this guy is the real deal, and could be a great surprise at SS. Instead, we have Cabrera who is 33 and going on the downside of his career. I hated the trade at the time, and I hate it even more now. It will be a good trade when Cabrera walks and we get two draft picks.

QUOTE(BFirebird @ Mar 5, 2008 -> 03:06 PM) Which team did they skip? Probably the White Sox. OMGZ the media hates us!
-
QUOTE(Reddy @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 09:58 AM) MLBTradeRumors.com Crede to SF for Eugenio Velez? I'd be all for that... frankly i'd be ok with Correia or Velez EDIT: scratch that Correia comment - he'd get smoked in the AL Velez would be a terrible acquisition for anyone.
-
QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Mar 2, 2008 -> 10:42 AM) why? Cause BA is better suited to be a 4th OF and Owens is better suited to run track.
-
I would take him as a 4th OF over Owens any day of the week on this team.
-
QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Mar 1, 2008 -> 02:30 PM) Ramirez can hit. But he had a Carlos Lee style braincramp at 2B. Anybdoy else think BA could hit .300 through the rest of camp and still not make the team? If he and Owens both hit .300, the team would be much better served to keep Anderson if only 1 bench spot is open.
-
What if we trade Fields, he's awesome, and Crede continues to suck like he has his whole career?
-
Has the Internet taken some fun out of baseball?

QUOTE(shipps @ Feb 27, 2008 -> 12:07 PM) Chaos I completely agree with your piece.I find that during the season I cant really post on the whitesox forum too much because it is so damn overwhelming with all of the number crunchers being critical of every post that is being made.It seems like no matter what point you try to make there is always somebody with a number to contradict whatever it is that you are saying, even when its just a random thought about baseball. Yeah, like when I try to make the dubious comparison of Nick Swisher to Jeromy Burnitz, there's some fact-monger there to inform me of how wrong I am! What the f***?!
