Beckham totally blew it on that steal attempt but the Orioles didn't get him, that's just a fail.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 6, 2010 -> 08:04 PM) Me trying to explain to my four year old the difference between the Gary Railcats and the Chicago White Sox... "the teams the Sox play are the best baseball players in the world, the guys you saw at Gary aren't very good" Madison-"Oh, you mean like the Cubs"

The Stealth Elf does it again!
There was concern that extended into his slow start this year (he was hot the 2nd half of last year) but I don't recall anyone saying he was outright a bust. If anyone did they'd need their f***ing head examined.

I was about to type "Kotsay up, official end of inning" and he doubles. lol.

The Baltimore announcer's call of that Beckham home run was pretty funny. It was like he didn't see it, and he was delayed on it by several seconds while he tried to fake it.

Report: Obama to nominate Kagan to Supreme Court
I don't care about judicial experience at all. The Supreme Court members are called "justices," not "judges." Judging (at the federal level) is just one of many, many things that can make you qualified. The phony focus on it is recent and only because it's the easiest way to track someone's political beliefs.

Jenks will Close again
QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Aug 6, 2010 -> 10:19 AM) And the people crying foul over Bobby hanging a curve were begging him to throw one the past two weeks. Well, he f***ing threw one.... This doesn't mean they were wrong... still more right than wrong, actually.

Good recovery by Danks. Honestly I'm not too upset with him, he got a bad break on that infield single, Markakis is always a tough out, and there was no way of preventing that run from scoring after that with Pierre in LF.

I really should've gone to this game... but I'm too tired to leave the house. f*** getting old.

Markakis is f***ing amazing against LHP, especially ours... this is my first time watching the O's play the Sox on TV in a while, usually I'm at Camden yards.

Help me before I go insane....
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Aug 6, 2010 -> 12:25 AM) The conversation started before the game, and then, OF COURSE, Kotsay has the best game of his Sox career, and it leaves me looking dumb. You don't look dumb. One good game doesn't alleviate Kotsay's overall badness.

August White Sox Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 6, 2010 -> 12:22 AM) I dislike Kotsay as well. But look at the bright side. What if he is getting hot? It would be the right time, woudn't it? He definitely sparked the team today, preventing a difficult loss. We'd have split with the struggling Tigers, rather than bagging an impressive 3 of 4 against a division rival on the road. 3 of 4 is pretty damn nice, thanks in large part to Kotsay. I'm just sayin' ... maybe he'll get hot? It'd be awesome if he got hot for, say, the next 3 months (that'd carry us through october) but I'm not holding my breath.

Every pitcher has 1-2-3 innings from time to time. Even Linebrink. That in itself isn't praise, see Bobby's WHIP etc.

The Republican Thread
QUOTE (kapkomet @ Aug 5, 2010 -> 09:26 PM) That's there for a reason. And was written there for a reason. I know, only pay attention to the constitution that matters to you. I understand. When I read the second part I see "in the United States and subject to American laws"

I actually agree with kap but we are getting too far into semantics. Yes marriage in and of itself is a state issue and not a federal issue, but in federal court the issue is about whether the state has the right to decide whether one group of people can do something and another can't.

If it was up to me the amendment would say something about one of the parents needing to be a US citizen and/or a lawful permanent resident for the child to be a US citizen.

QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 5, 2010 -> 11:37 AM) I would really like shortened training camps/preseason whether they add two more regular season games or not. I can't stand the media coverage of Bourbanais (sp?). It's all the same, every year... defense is rock solid, (injured player from previous year) has returned to form, the offense is looking crisp and sharp, coaches feel good about the roster and can build on the previous year, rookies look like they are going to dominate

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Aug 5, 2010 -> 04:57 PM) There's nothing better then coming home from work to find out the White Sox have already won. It makes up for missing the game.

A couple of money quotes from this article re: Newt Gingrich popping off again: http://www.slate.com/blogs/blogs/scocca/ar...r-fearless.aspx • Newt you cheated on your first wife then dumped her when she was in the hospital with cancer. Later you cheated on your second wife with a 27 year old congressional aide. Maybe you should pipe down about defending marriage. • Which one of your multiple marriages was the most sacred to you?
