It sounds like this is a very temporary move. Most would agree Cotts being a lefty and more experienced stands a much better chance against the Twinkie lineup than Diaz. Sounds like Felix will be back soon, possibly after this trade we are all thinking about.
Jon is maturing before our very eyes. Does any one else find it annoying how Hawk has to bring up every time Jon starts that he is benefitting from "a manager that shows confidence in him"?
It's like Hawk is so cautious never to rip JM by name but he mentions this Jon Garland thing every friggin start.
Jon has a history with Cleveland. Let's just say that history involves Jon bent over and Chief Wahoo standing behind him.

Agreed, this offense needs to be blown up. We ARE NOT the most talented offense in the league, in this division, or in this city. This nucleus is slow and homer-happy and they always slump in May and September. BLOW IT UP!!!!!!!
Neal, is the cutter a pitch you have been developing or is it something that you throw with regularity? I am curious because I heard you threw one in Toronto to Josh Phelps. Also curious on how confident you are in your curveball these days because we all know you have a great fastball and changeup.
Buehrle's K/BB numbers are just awesome right now. I think we are truly blessed I mean this guy doesnt throw but PITCHES like a 10-year veteran sometimes and I forget he's only 25 years old.
K/BB numbers AL:
Schilling 6.22
Radke 5.8
Buehrle 3.92
The two names below are Pedro and Kevin Brown so it's pretty obvious he is in some elite company. With the exception of Radke, these are all power pitchers too so Buehrle is truly something special.
Usually I don't care when BBTN just shows ignorance about players or the performance of our team. But ripping on our fireworks?? Is nothing sacred in baseball anymore like a little tradition called the exploding scoreboard and fireworks???!?
Not to mention the fact that most of our home games are night games anyways. Give me a break BBTN.
Most of our hitters are good enough to react to hangers and even inside 4-seamers. Our guys should be looking outside every at bat because that is where American League pitchers are going to pitch to us.
And Coop kept saying before this season that Scott would be "this year's Loaiza". Why can't Loaiza still be this year's Loaiza too?? And why can't he teach some other pitchers that same cutter that seems to be so dominant??
No one notices it but this starting rotation 1-4 has been one of the most consistent in the past season or two. Strikeouts are sexy and we just don't strike many people out so most people just assume our rotation sucks.
The amount of popups during Saturday's game was a pretty good sign. Also that eighth inning on Friday when EVERY SINGLE PITCH was OUTSIDE and nobody could do anything about it.
Him and his fellow Twins have beaten our butts the past th ree seasons. They have earned my respect because they know how to win, the kind of respect where I go out and make sure I spell his name right.
