If you had to trade either Avi or Jose....
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to Heads22's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 30, 2017 -> 09:01 PM) Jose. Due to age, more likely to not be a major contributor if the Sox ever do make the playoffs in the near future. You are currently the only one of 24 voters who think that way. -
Picked up WatchDogs 2 for $15.

Best Buy is selling the Google Home Mini for $30 (but comes with $10 gift card). So for $20, it's kind of hard to pass up. I ended up buying one for my aunt, and a 2nd one for me for no real reason other than it was only $20. I'm buying the 2-pack of Google Home's at Costco tomorrow for $170, selling one to my parents.

Definitely Red Line Radio. You'll get Cubs talk too, but it's still highly enjoyable. They have had Rick Hahn on, as well as Brian Anderson and Hostetler I think and others.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Nov 23, 2017 -> 07:14 AM) Rockstar is printing money with GTA V, they’re not paying for a Star Wars license they don’t need to sell games. Yeah, it was a joke.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Nov 22, 2017 -> 11:08 PM) Who would take over? Ubisoft? They're the only other one that would come to mind that is capable of putting out the amount of content. Disney is probably best off going the Marvel track and handpicking studios fit for each genre as opposed to limiting themselves to a single publisher. Let Rockstar take over. I want to be able to play as Jabba, fondling slave women all day, or fly around on my speeder bike, decapitating Ewoks with my light saber.

QUOTE (hi8is @ Nov 22, 2017 -> 10:35 PM) Within that article, I found it pretty interesting that he goes so far as to classify Maitan as a: Boy am I glad that we didn't end up getting him as a part of a Sale deal. Moncada + Kopech both seem to be droll worthy prizes. Hell, I'd even say that there's a potential for us to "win" that trade looking back in about 8 years. "reclamation project" seems unreasonable premature. The dude was 17 years old in rookie ball, 3 years younger than the average rookie baller.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Nov 21, 2017 -> 09:50 PM) OK yeah, so I'll wait until it's When the trailer came out, I was SO beyond excited. Then as the early reviews and nuggets came out suggesting it's just a "Fine, here's some campaign missions" type storyline, I lost all interest. I would cream my jeans for an open world Star Wars experience. Maybe this can become a thing when the new triology of Star Wars movies begin, and there is more leeway to make up new stories and characters?

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 21, 2017 -> 07:39 AM) http://www.gamerankings.com/browse.html 2 of the top 5 games of all time are on switch. If there's anyone still on the fence, I suggest getting off. I don't think I even began to climb that fence, as I would be paying $200, or whatever the Switch costs, just to play the new Mario games. Nintendo systems always interest me, but the games rarely do.

QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 17, 2017 -> 04:03 PM) I still don't get how wifi in cars works. Is it free? Is it like data? I'm lost Both, all. Tesla offers the data for free, for now. But Tesla's also have WiFi, so if you're at home at within range at a business, you can use their WiFi, or your own phone's hotspot.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 17, 2017 -> 09:11 AM) There was a big study I heard about on the radio a month ago that found the high-tech touchscreens are pretty distracting. The voice commands don't really help much, either, because it still takes a lot of your mental attention to give the command and then verify that it was executed properly rather than blindly reaching for the volume knob or whatever and knowing you've got the right button just from muscle memory. http://www.chicagotribune.com/business/ct-...1004-story.html The Model S and X have steering wheel buttons still. The Model 3 has a roller wheel in each side of the wheel, that is contextual based. Normally, one is more volume. The other is probably going to be mapped to cruise control, but they can change all the commands via software, potentially making them fully custom for the user.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 17, 2017 -> 08:38 AM) Isn't Tesla way, way behind production schedule and laying a bunch of people off? Also touch screens in cars aren't great because they provide zero tactile feedback and require a lot more attention from drivers than physical controls do. Going 100% touchscreen is a bad idea. Behind schedule, yes. Most are seeing a 1-month delay in their estimated delivery timeframes. Laying a bunch of people off? Not really. Unless something like 3% turnover is a bunch.

Oh my f***. Tesla unveiled their Tesla semi tonight AND surprised the world with a reveal of the NEW updated Roadster. And holy f***, the specs on both are amazing. Tesla semi has 500 miles of range, 0-60 in 5 seconds, 400 miles of recharge in 30 mins, more aerodynamic than a Bugatti New Roadster had 620 miles of range (!!!) and 0-60 speeds in 1.9 seconds (!!!), both are world records.

President Donald Trump: The Thread
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to Steve9347's topic in The Filibuster
I rarely come to this thread, but did I miss discussion of Trump lifting the ban on elephant trophies? Or the Dakota pipeline spill? -
QUOTE (Blackout Friday @ Nov 15, 2017 -> 11:30 PM) The Twins just cleared up $3M in international spending today for the current signing period. Not sure how relevant that winds up being. Hopefully not at all.

QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Nov 15, 2017 -> 04:51 PM) If he's giving Madrigal a Bregman comp, all the more reason to take him. He's giving Madrigal a 2015 draft Bregman comp. If he's comparing him to this version of Bregman, then he's also saying Turang will struggle a lot in his 1st full major league season.

Athletics interested in Avisail Garcia
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to Y2Jimmy0's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Nov 15, 2017 -> 05:05 PM) I think it is speculation. If I'm the A's, I would use the farm to help acquire Ozuna, not Avi. Ozuna would take way more than Avi. I think Avi is a consolation prize they may find easier to acquire. -

After hearing about this 5 minutes ago, I would be looking for something like OF Austin Beck, who a lot of us wanted in the 2017 draft, and C Sean Murphy, who apparently has a legendary arm. -
Eloy Jimenez is destroying the DWL
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to NorthSideSox72's topic in FutureSox Board
QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Nov 14, 2017 -> 11:53 AM) Steamer came out and Eloy projects to a 262/316/452 line with a wRC+ of 102. Eloy turns 21 in a couple weeks. That's insane. They mean like if he played in the majors in 2018? -
Anyway, Dan was really great. Seems super genuine and honest. I liked his coverage, and he always seemed like he was genuinely interested and committed. Really hope he lands somewhere in this market.

QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Nov 14, 2017 -> 11:22 PM) I didn't think he was that good Tony and he always appeared uncomfortable when he was on TV. As someone who was on TV for 15 years that'something I notice. He'll be fine...if he is as good as some believe he should be able to find another good position somewhere. So because he sometimes came off a bit nervous on TV, you didn't like him as a reporter of White Sox baseball. Seems fair.

Wouldn't salary, or at least a salary range, mostly dictate the "financial success" equation?

Last week the latest GOP plan was to prematurely remove the $7500 EV tax credit. As of today, one Republican who appears to not be getting rich off the oil industry, said they have put reinstated the EV tax credit back in to the latest version of the budget. This is a $7500 limbo I'm stuck in right now. Stressing me out a bit.

I'll be honest, without a last name on it, I don't really find it worth anything close to $100.
