Cafardo: Cardinals interested in Avi

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 1, 2017 -> 08:02 AM) Looking at your signature, I am scratching my head as to why you guys couldn't come up with the simple "Draft Beer." I made up Cheer for Beer because that's what were on my college's (and probably many others) shirts because we were a bad football team, usually. I'm pretty sure I still have my Cheer for Beer shirt, and the idea was the same....we suck, so we just root for more drinking! -

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 1, 2017 -> 12:45 AM) My offer is I will buy a beef sandwich for 10 members of Soxtalk. Only caveat is we have to be in Portillos at the same time. No fries. No drink. Just the sandwich. You live in Kansas. Just Venmo me that s***, Greg, -

Bringing back Sharp will be fun, as long as it's on the cheap, obviously. -

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 29, 2017 -> 03:49 PM) Obviously it doesn't effect anything, just odd that you're giddy over a bad outcome for the organization because of an Italian beef sandwich. Lighten up Francis, it's just a fun little bet. It's not like anyone is rooting for an injury. -

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 29, 2017 -> 03:47 AM) Are you actually cheering against a White Sox player with potential trade value over a $6.99 beef sandwich? Yes. You let me know when my cheering actually affects anything. This is a win-win bet for me. -
Not a chance.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 20, 2017 -> 10:19 PM) .339! .318! You worried yet? -
QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jun 27, 2017 -> 08:56 PM) Why do they keep running the elder Dunning out there?? Release the dude. Your wish is their command. He Gone.

Don't look now, but Q is on pace for a 4 WAR season.

QUOTE (daa84 @ Jun 27, 2017 -> 09:45 PM) i think he played at wake forest iirc, not vandy. I certainly don't remember him at vandy http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/pro...=justin-yurchak You're right, ChiSox59 is a damn dirty liar! Similar logic applies though, but not as extreme as Vandy.

QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jun 27, 2017 -> 11:55 AM) Played his freshman year at Vandy, and did pretty well. Not sure what the story was with him transferring to Binghamton. Without looking in to it, I would guess because Vandy is a powerhouse team every year and he couldn't be guaranteed a spot on an all-star lineup. The fact that Vandy recruited him and played him as a freshman speaks volumes.
-
QUOTE (beautox @ Jun 27, 2017 -> 03:16 PM) if he finishes the year at his current pace and gets up a cup of coffee at AA i think he winds up on the back end of the top 100; 75+ range. That's exactly where I was expecting him to land, somewhere around the low 80s, maybe high 60s for his most liked publication.

How do you rate the rebuild so far?
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I gave it a 9, because even though there are still moves to be made, no moves look bad. Not thrilled with our 2017 draft class, but everything else has been aces. -
Adolfo - 2/3, HR, 2B, BB, 3 RBI (Avg. at .290) Frost - 2/5, 2 2B, RBI Yurchak - 2/4 Agar - 7 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 2 K
-
Bellinger and Buehler was 2 guys I really really wanted from LAD, and now Bellinger has 24 HR in his first 57 MLB games, and Buehler has a 2.49 ERA, K/9 near 12, and BB/9 at 2.5 in the minors so far this year.

QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jun 25, 2017 -> 11:10 PM) Anyone play OOTP? Just picked up the latest version a few days ago and decided to see how long it would take to get the Sox back to the playoffs. Ended up finally winning the division in 2021 with 93 wins, despite every free agent signing being a disaster over the years, which was eerie (Darvish/Carrasco/Nelson Cruz). Kopech/Lopez/Jordan Montgomery (traded Q for him along with Andujar who is currently the starting 3B)/Collins all made the All-Star team, Basabe is my starting RF (I've got Haseley in CF), Burdi is the closer and Adams and Clark are middle relievers. Funnily enough Covey is my #2 starter after Kopech and Giolito does well when he's healthy but he's always hurt. Moncada has led the league in SB several years in a row and I ended up drafting Seth Beer who is currently the #2 prospect (though still hasn't played a game in the majors yet). Burger was drafted by the Nats and just hit .291/.350/.543 for them on the year. I love OOTP, but I really got to be the in mood to play it. I'd get it if it was like $5.

QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jun 26, 2017 -> 01:50 AM) Justin Yurchak has 8 walks and no strikeouts so far at Great Falls. .353/.560/.412. Yurchak, Frost, and Dedelow are killing it.
-
Adolfo - 1/3, RBI, BB, K Dedelow - 2/4, 2B Robert - 1/3, 2B, BB, SB. He now has 11 BB, 8 K, 5 SB

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 24, 2017 -> 08:07 PM) Got a friend at the game, said that Lopez squeezed badly and looked to be trying to get tossed. Was shocked Grudz sat there and didn't stand up for his pitcher. I have a friend there too (Alex?), and he said the same thing about Lopez when I asked about his start. Said he got no calls.

Also, I know nothing about the 2 guys we got back from Phoenix, so I'll have to rely on some Hawks blogs for scouting reports. -

Gosh, I am so torn. Saad was my favorite player before he got moved. I finally got to tear the red tape off one of the A's on my jersey, so it says Saad again, instead of "Sad". But getting him back while losing Panarin is so incredibly bittersweet. As far as Hammer goes, I'm less upset about losing Hjalmarsson, and more upset that it wasn't Seabrook that left. I've always disliked Seabrook and was looking forward to shedding the player and the money. Sucks we had to lose Hammer because of that awful contract Seabrook has. -

QUOTE (beautox @ Jun 23, 2017 -> 06:13 PM) White Sox prospect Luis Robert off to promising start from minor league ball I mean...this writer had no more info than the rest of us have from the boxscores. Not sure if I agree with his assessment that he will be in Low-A soon. Didn't Hahn say he would spend all of 2017 in the DSL? -
Also, Luis Gonzalez has already been called up after 3 games from GF to Kanny.
