  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 8, 2017 -> 10:57 PM) Stop putting a middle infielder in the outfield I read this as "middle finger" multiple times and I don't think either is wrong.
  2. Call me crazy, but I think this was a very positive outing for Q. His curve was nasty, he got squeezed a little, and his defense let him down a couple times. I would have to think scouts were happy with what they saw, regardless of the boxscore.
  3. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jul 8, 2017 -> 09:12 PM) Probably thinking of Nick Madrigal of Oregon St. Noooo, it's driving me nuts, I've been googling it. I think he's a college player, definitely a SS. I'm thinking maybe he played for an SEC school. I think the idea is that he is playing himself in to 1st RD consideration, not that he's a top 10 pick or anything. So likely targeted for a 2nd RD. I'll have to do some more googling... EDIT: I've spend the last half hour googling. I think I'm giving up.
  4. Can we give Yolmer an error on that? I know you can't assume the double play....but...come on bro.
  5. Uhh....Yolmer just stole a DP throw away from Quintana. The f***?
  6. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 8, 2017 -> 09:09 PM) The bumper music tonight has been fantastic. Is it always this way for WGN games? I feel like when I've heard good bumps and sweeps, it's been WGN.
  7. I wouldn't mind having that Vandy SS somewhere in the draft. I can't remember his name though... EDIT: Ok, it apparently wasn't Vandy....ugh. I can't remember who it was, but Longenhagen was kind of gushing over him a month or two ago. s***, I can't remember.
  8. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 8, 2017 -> 08:41 PM) Everybody burns calories at a different rate. But I do believe some of the new fitness watches aren't that far off. I noticed my female cousin (who is petite) posted a pic of her fitbit today, and it showed that she walked 9 miles over the course of her day, and burned something like 2400 calories. So my something like nearly twice her weight accounted for about 2000 more calories burned. I guess that makes sense. The 2000 default burned mark isn't rated for big fatties like myself.
  9. So Giolito has a no-hit shutout and 2-hit shutout this season. Quite the mixed bag for him in a rollercoaster year.
  10. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 8, 2017 -> 05:55 AM) What kind of work are you doing where you do over 9 miles of walking? That would require like 3 to 5 hours of movement depending on your pace. Also, I assume these numbers include your resting metabolic rate? If so, I could see 3,000 to 3,500 calories burned a day max depending on the intensity of your workouts. Well like I said, yesterday was 4200 calories WITHOUT working out, just going to work and then walking the dogs. I am constantly walking for my job, 8 1/2 hours a day, so I totally believe that I do 7+ miles on a daily shift.
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 7, 2017 -> 06:17 PM) I'm surprised some teams don't try to acquire players earlier to get more out of them so to speak. But it's another form of "baseball tradition" I guess. Most of the deals are near the trade deadline. With the 2nd wildcard, more teams are in the race longer. So you have less teams giving up early. You really have to be very far out to start dealing in early July.
  12. I too think Sonny Gray is the 1st trade. And just to be different, I'll say he goes to Minnesota, centered around Nick Gordon.
  13. And now today, without the gym at all, it says 4235 calories burned. Now I did work today, and take the dogs on a walk, so I did over 9 miles of walking (19,000+ steps), but considering I average 13K+ steps during a work day, I feel like if I am really burning 4000 calories or so on a work day, then I should be shedding pounds like crazy. Maybe I eat a lot worse than I think I do.
  14. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 7, 2017 -> 07:28 PM) What did you do at the gym exactly? Unless you're prepping for a marathon, I'm going assume your Fitbit is broken as f***. Run 6.5 miles, and then do like 50-100 bicep curls, and 50-100 tricep somethings, and then maybe 50-100 hip thingies.
  15. QUOTE (ChiSoxJon @ Jul 7, 2017 -> 11:36 AM) I've seen someone say he'll eventually be #1 as well, still hurts to lose him regardless I'll wait until he's above a 5% likely success rate before I start feeling upset.
  16. We need ptac to tell us it won't affect anything in the future and can heal 100%.
  17. QUOTE (ChiSoxJon @ Jul 7, 2017 -> 10:44 AM) Absolutely sickening seeing Tatis getting all this hype while Big Game James can't get out of the 4th Uh.... he's ranked 101. Get sick when he's like a top 25 prospect.
  18. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Jul 6, 2017 -> 07:34 AM) As somebody who owns and uses a fitness tracker, don't trust them. Trust the mirror and the scale. I was just going to ask this question, because for Thursday, it says I burned 4500 calories, and that doesn't even include the hour+ I was in the pool. So probably more like 5000 calories. That includes being at the gym, and also my volleyball tournament, but still, seems really high. I guess I'll have to see how what it's like on a typical work day. I would guess somewhere around 2500.
  19. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Jul 5, 2017 -> 11:07 AM) Monitor calories and increase deficit. If I was you, I wouldn't even count whatever calories I burned at the gym against the deficit. If you start eating at a 500-700 calories deficit, you'll probably drop 3-5 pounds in the first week, most of which won't be fat, but you'll see results quickly. Well, just using the estimated 2000 calorie standard, I try to eat around like 1700 or 1800, then if I go to the gym, that number can become more like 1000-1100. So it's not like on gym days I am allowing myself to eat 2500, I try to eat around the same calorie amount each day, but gyms days obviously are a bonus. Also, ordered a Fit Bit Charge 2 as well, just to get a better idea of my daily activity. I'm excited to see how it estimates my calories burned during my volleyball tournament tomorrow.
  20. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 3, 2017 -> 08:11 AM) Joe: July 28. Stock is jumping I love how they keep beating their highly aggressive production goals. Elon said the first car will roll off the line this Friday, 2 weeks ahead of schedule. However, he did seem to announce a MUCH less aggressive upscaling. At some point he threw out figures that added up to 80,000 vehicles by the end of this year. Now, it seems the number is somewhere around 30,000, which may push my delivery in to 2018, in which case I'd rather just wait until next spring/summer and get all of the options that I want, instead of getting whatever they give me by January/February. I'm more concerned with getting the car in the 2017 tax year, not necessarily getting it ASAP.
  21. Weighed in at 240.8 on Saturday. Only down 3 since I started my gym membership, but I was also had a weigh in at 247 last week because of all the s*** food from my birthday week.
  22. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 1, 2017 -> 08:02 AM) Looking at your signature, I am scratching my head as to why you guys couldn't come up with the simple "Draft Beer." I made up Cheer for Beer because that's what were on my college's (and probably many others) shirts because we were a bad football team, usually. I'm pretty sure I still have my Cheer for Beer shirt, and the idea was the same....we suck, so we just root for more drinking!
