QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 03:31 PM) He's not can't miss, but he is getting closer, and he plays a position of need. If Saladino showed he would be a decent hitter, I could see trading him, but no matter what, if they do trade him and he turns out to be a good player, KW is going to be called a lot of names. The White Sox need to add young talent, not subtract it. Frazier is probably a 2 year thing. Then what? Then in 2 years we make a trade with Arizona and replenish our team.

For Frazier and Phillips, I would be ok with.... Anderson, Danish, Davidson, and Micah. I would hate to lose Micah, because I like him as a person and I LOVE his athleticism and skill, but we wouldn't have a spot for him, his defense is still suspect, and I feel like the Reds would love the idea of Billy Hamilton and Micah Johnson in the same lineup. That's an unbelievably amount of speed.

So my phone is officially dead. Talked to LG and they said it would be basically 2-3 weeks until I get my new phone. Called ATT instead to see if they could do anything better. They told me 2-3 days basically. ATT rep was extremely helpful and nice. It was one of the most pleasant experiences I've had calling support. Excited to finally put this S4 Active back in the drawer and get back to my LG G4.

I wonder how the Reds view Brandon Phillips. If they view him as a salary dump, I would certainly take him in a package with Frazier. Look at it this way..... Phillips and Zobrist are about the same age. Phillips was 1/2 a win better in 2015 than Zobrist. Zobrist is getting paid $14M over the next 4 season. Phillips is getting paid $13.5M over just the next 2 years. Phillips, despite a down year on defense, is still a solidly above average fielder. In his down year on defense, he was still just as good as Carlos Sanchez was on defense. Phillips would be a pretty substantial upgrade over Sanchez when you consider he gives you the same defense, but a 90 wRC+ versus a 60 wRC+. See what it would take to get Frazier and Phillips and it would give this team a pretty reasonable 2 year window to win before their contracts expire.

If it's just a swap, 1 for 1, I absolutely do Anderson for Frazier. It's the pieces the Reds might want on top of Anderson that would worry me.

QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 01:23 AM) If the price is right then I approve of this deal but I wonder about him in the clubhouse. The guy is kind of an asshole. IF the Sox do acquire him and it seems inevitable, then they need a leader in that clubhouse to put Lawrie in his place when the time comes. I could see Eaton and Lawrie clashing. Or Lawrie and Sale. Or Lawrie and anyone with a personality, really. He would have loved Conor.

Pea pod!

OAK drafted Jace Fry out of HS. Maybe something there they liked about him.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 12:49 AM) Beck/Danish and Coats I would be ok with Beck and Coats.

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 12:43 AM) Can you please make a thread of your most embarrassing pictures? lol Sure, as soon as I become a public figure.

One last comment on him as a person..... When Lawrie first heard he was going to be added to the "40"-man roster.

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 12:29 AM) So if he comes here you don't want to root for him to do good? You'd prefer he suck and we don't win games? Nah, I won't root against him, but I won't root for him. There are players I have hated on a lot of my favorite teams. I'm a Cowboys fan. I hated Terrell Owens and I now hate Dez Bryant. I don't hope Dez drops every pass thrown his way, but I would love for him to be traded and you couldn't pay me to ever wear his jersey. I hated Daniel Carcillo on the Hawks as well.

QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 12:20 AM) Oh whaaaa! So he blocked the local beat writer. Its twitter, Big deal. Obviously he thought whatever she said about/to him was a big enough deal that the took the time digitally put his fingers in his ears and yell "LALALALALALA" when she talks about him. I mean, it's whatever. I don't automatically love players because they are on my favorite team. I try to avoid being a homer in that sense. But I realize the same people who hated Samardzija on the Cubs, and then loved him on the Sox, then hated him again once he left will be the same people to fall in love with someone like Lawrie because he plays for their favorite team. Not for me.

QUOTE (Knackattack @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 12:12 AM) So he was a cocky kid and probably has been humbled by his ML career. I'm 23 and I think I'm the best at everything I do. Fact is he could enter his prime the next 2 years and swat 50 homers from 3b over the next 2 seasons Susan Slusser is Oakland's beat writer. He has only been in Oakland for 2015. Clearly he hasn't grown up.

QUOTE (Knackattack @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 12:04 AM) What did lawrie do that makes him a douche? This quote.. "The clashes continued into the Brewers’ system, where Brett chafed. He said he felt the organization wasn’t going to challenge him, and planned on moving him up the minor-league ladder rung by rung. This from a player who considered himself major-league ready. There was no line of communication to Brewers general manager Doug Melvin, a Canadian, and Lawrie refused to participate in instructional league. Lawrie said he didn’t feel he had a support system, and his parents said he was unappreciated. One day, a Milwaukee minor-league instructor was giving Lawrie a talk about how minor-league players are nothing special until they reach the big leagues, when the prodigy turned to his coach, pointed at every teammate and said: “I’m better than him, him, him, etc … ”" These google results... https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrom...t+Lawrie+douche And then there was one quote a few years ago when he was a minor leaguer and he said something about being pissed that he wasn't called up yet, saying he says when he is ready, not their GM. EDIT: Oh, and add in that fact that he blocked his own team's beat writer on Twitter, probably because she spoke ill of him in an article, or at least didn't shower him with the glory he feels he deserves.
-
2 minor leaguers, says Slusser.
-
But seriously....is there anyone here who would feel comfortable rooting for this slimeball?
-
I mean, Lawrie is an alright player, but he appears to be just a trashy, douchey person. I am going to have a very hard time rooting for him. Hell, even Susan Slusser got BLOCKED by him on Twitter. What a child.
-
I hope that big league source is a dirty liar. Why do I have a sinking feeling that we will be seeing a Lawrie for Adams swap? or Lawrie for Danish and Trey?
-
Yeah, Adam Warren is a decent arm. You could argue he's only slightly worse than Shelby Miller. LMAO.
-
In case anyone wants to feel even worse about this deal.... http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/diamondback...-shelby-miller/ Sullivan makes a great point that you could argue a trade of Miller for Inciarte STRAIGHT UP might even favor the Braves, let alone tossing in MLB.com's #10 and #61 best prospects in baseball for free.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 10:33 PM) Not to be the spelling police here, but did Levine actually botch both of those names. His account is not verified. I hope for his sake it's a parody account.

The money isn't bad, but the years are a bit much. The guy will be 39 a month in to that final season. He saw a pretty big drop off last year slipping to a 2.1 WAR. His defensive value plummeted. He's always been thought of as possibly an exploit of the many many shifts that Maddon employed in TB. Could have severely skewed his defensive metrics which inflated his WAR. I don't know if Maddon shifts as much as he used to, but the shifts could explain how Zobrist went from 5-6 WAR player for like 6 years with Maddon, to a 2.1 WAR player without Maddon.
-
I am so so so so so INSANELY jealous of this trade. I was pushing for a trade of Q to the Dbacks for Inciarte, Blair, Drury, and Owings, and what the Braves got is arguably even better. Ugh, so so so salty about this.

I think Phantom Menace is the only one I saw in theaters, but I honestly can't remember.
