I don't know if there are any other Peaky Blinders fans out there, but season 2 is up on Netflix now, which is important for me because I need them subtitles. Tom Hardy comes in Ep. 2.

It's funny, last year I was screaming for a trade of Quintana for Castro + Altuve. Never would have though a year later that Altuve would be the headliner of that deal.

Jeff is clearly from the U.K. Otherwise, nice job!

I'm not sure I understand how Carlos Rodon is not on that list. At 150 IP next season, I'm sure he can produce a 1.3 WAR or whatever Trayce Thompson came in as.

The Longest HRs Video
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to CaliSoxFanViaSWside's topic in The Diamond Club
Fun video. Had no idea Dunn hit one 535 before, that's crazy. I remember when we signed him he asked if anyone had hit the then Miller Lite sign in RF behind the concourse. I think 535 would have gotten him there. I love that Glenallen Hill HR though. I've been waiting for Stanton to do that at Wrigley. -
I'd want Greene + Jagielo.

Abreu finishes 4th in MVP voting

Man, Shadow of Mordor is hard. I die a LOT. It's so annoying when you clear an area of bad guys, but then as soon as you encounter a captain or warchief, about 20 other guys suddenly appear. Too easy to get swarmed.

Mets/LAD/NYy interested in Alexei, according to Levine

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 13, 2014 -> 01:11 AM) If the Sox could get Syndergaard and another prospect for Alexei, that'd be something I'd pull the trigger on. Add Syndergaard to the group of Rodon, Montas, Danish, Adams and Beck and the Sox would have some nice young arms they could hopefully flip for young bats after some development, such as Santiago for Eaton. I would take just Syndergaard straight up for Alexei. He was the #11 ranked prospect in all of baseball according to BP last season. That's a ranking better than Rodon will likely get coming in to 2015, and I don't know how many of you would trade 6 years of Rodon for 2 years of Alexei, and then talk about adding ANOTHER prospect on top of Rodon, and I'm not sure a single poster here would take that. Now the Mets do have more young pitchers than the Sox, so they could afford to lose Syndergaard and still have nice young arms, but I think to expect Syndergaard PLUS another guy is highly unlikely. -

Homeland, yeesh, what an almost show-breaking ending. If that had actually ended the way we thought it would, it would have been a big f*** YOU. Still weird though. Also,

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Nov 12, 2014 -> 10:48 PM) Another poster said he would offer John Ryan Murphy, Brady Lail and Abiatal Avelino. JR Murphy is just not a guy I care to acquire. He doesn't excite me. -
QUOTE (greg775 @ Nov 12, 2014 -> 02:40 PM) Who is this guy? Is he available? I want him on the Sox NOW. What power!! He'll be a fan favorite with the glove and the bat. Is he a legit signee? Does Hahn know of him?
-
My god that little guy has power. His swing kind of reminds me of Dustin Pedroia, sans the enormous leg kick. He has that high swing finish and seems to sell out for power with that hip torque. I could definitely see the leg kick giving him timing issues though.

Yoan Moncada signs with Red Sox

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 12, 2014 -> 07:17 AM) Yes, but this one player would cripple our minor league spending for two seasons AND essentially be a doubling down of a $30 million deal to a $45-60 million gamble (putting all of the eggs in one basket) because of the built-in fines and penalties. Ok gotcha. Probably should have reworded it that if there was 1 player you'd risk Int'l spending penalties for, it'd be Moncada. -

QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Nov 12, 2014 -> 02:32 AM) I think Tulo goes to St. Louis or he remains in Colorado at least till the ASB. I think Castro remains a Cub, I personally think it's Baez who gets traded out of their crop of young players. Castro has brome a voice and leader in that clubhouse to go alongside Rizzo. Leader? Doesn't he still have problems running out flyballs/groundballs and having a lazy attitude? Could have sworn that was still happening with him. -

QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Nov 12, 2014 -> 01:48 AM) Watch as Tule gets traded to somewhere not named New York, and the Cubs hold on to Castro, I can see the Mets breaking down. I think Tulo or Castro is going to one of the NY teams before Xmas. -

QUOTE (GreenSox @ Nov 12, 2014 -> 12:45 AM) Thanks for posting those tweets. I think they really sum up the Sox position nicely. The Sox don't have to trade Alexei. If they want him, the deliver the young pitchers, not the old and/or mediocre. Which is exactly why Hahn is able to ask high, and hope someone takes it. Sox have all the leverage in trade talks because there is no pressing need to trade Alexei. He's not being pushed by anyone and his contract is team friendly. Any deal Hahn takes you would pretty much have to think favors the Sox. -

I don't know how Hahn doesn't ask for Plawecki in return. That's such a natural fit w/ the Mets already having D'Arnaud at catcher. Offer Alexei for Plawecki and OF Brandon Nimmo. Or Plawecki and SP Marcos Molina. Or cross your fingers and hope they give you Plawecki and LHP Steven Matz, which is probably unlikely. Either way, I want a package to start around Plawecki. He sounds like a right handed hitting version of Pierzynski. Hits for average, very hard to strike out, has 15 HR power, doesn't walk much because of his ability to swing at everything and still make contact, is a decent defender with good hands, but just an average arm and average arm accuracy. Stop me when you've begun to think I'm reading AJ's scouting report... -

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 11, 2014 -> 09:42 PM) Hearing he's having the tryout in Guatemala reminds me of "Million Dollar Arm." So bizarre, the guy everyone's hyping as the next big superstar after Mike Trout and he's in the second poorest Central American country after Honduras. #24, same as Viciedo, haha. If there was ONE time I really wanted JR to open up the purse strings and take a risk, it's on Moncada. Did you not want him to do that last year for Abreu? Because he did, lol. -
QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 11, 2014 -> 04:00 PM) I liked premiere. I don't care how hot Olivia Munn is, she's a pretty bad actress on the show. No emotion and monotonous. That's the point. Her character is supposed to be a socially awkward nerd who is hot, but so sexually uncomfortable and socially stupid. Like that conversation she had on the phone and she very awkwardly questioned if he was trying to have sex with her. It's her character.

Proposal: John Danks for Howie Kendrick
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to GGajewski18's topic in Pale Hose Talk
"for player or pitcher under comparable or longer control. Kendrick eligible for FA at end of season." That's got to be about the dumbest thing I've read all day. Ummm, when you only have 1 year left on your contract, EVERY player or pitcher is under control for a comparable or longer time. It's impossible not to be.
