My mom had it done probably 7-8 years ago, and she loves it. She has to use reading glasses, and I think she either has or is planning on getting something "touched up", but she would do it all over again 100 out of 100 times. I'm sure the technology has only gotten better/cheaper since then too.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 15, 2013 -> 05:20 PM) I do It's Chris Sale pitching, most of us should care.

Well, in yet another twist in this riveting saga, it appears there is a loophole to their "any Rockstar title" deal, because I just bought 4 different Rockstar titles, all for 75% off. Maybe it was because it was all in 1 transaction, I'm not sure, but for $22 I just bought..... Max Payne 3 RDR: Undead Nightmare Episodes from Liberty City Bully
-
Well I got boned. Despite people on the interwebs shouting about how smart their were to get the Rockstar Games Collection for $15 (after the 75% off deal), it turns out that was a big f***ing lie. Either that, or it was an oversight by Rockstar in the beginning, and then they caught their mistake, because now that is not included in the deal. So the only reason I would ever get a digital copy of a game, and now it doesn't even matter. f***ing cool. I mean, I can still get Liberty City Stories for like $7, but I really wanted Midnight Club LA Complete Edition, which, by the way, is ALSO not included anymore in that 75% off deal, so that's great.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 15, 2013 -> 01:37 AM) Cause they might have paid 80 bucks for a gawddarn ticket and tons more for beer? Booooooooo. Amen, brother. He has done one of the worst jobs in baseball history this season. Teams in our division are NOT that good. They are AVERAGE. And we lose to all of them daily except one, the Royals. Please quit, Robin. You are not cut out for this job. Loved you as a player, but just quit. Best post of the month! You should change your name to Hyperbole775. The amount of times I've seen you say something is the best, worst, greatest, is kind of amazing. Plus, I am confused how that post could be the post of the month, when Dick Allen's post about how the Bears giving up on a season after a 1-0 start is the same as the Sox giving up on a season when they are 25 GB in September was supposedly the post of the year, or something like that.

Oh my god, in this interview with the real life Iceman, he is saying that liked to tie up people and leave them in a cave with a video camera on them, that way he could later watch the video of the rats eating them to death while they scream. That's so f***ed up.
-
Just watched The Iceman. Pretty decent movie. I don't want to spoil it, but I think the fact that it was a true story led to a rather boring ending. I was hoping for a big battle of the antagonist vs. the protagonist, but I guess they couldn't stray off the facts that far. However, I am now watching a documentary of the real IceMan, and holy s***, this guy is f***ed up. I think he actually has come off as a WORSE person in this 10 minutes of the documentary I've seen so far than the movie. The movie actually portrays him as a big time family man who kind of got caught up in the contract killing business. This conversation w/ him that I am watching is him saying things like "I probably killed over 200 people. I used to just stab and shoot people for looking at me wrong, innocent people. I used to throw cats in an incinerator." Michael Shannon somehow made him LESS scary.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Sep 14, 2013 -> 10:53 PM) That's fine but Sox better not expect fans to care and come to games either. It is a two way street. I don't know that hiring a new manager will get people to buy tickets. I suppose it may give people a false sense of optimism if things are arbitrarily changed, but I think they are too loyal to Robin to take that inch.

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 14, 2013 -> 09:55 PM) It's a joke that Ventura is being brought back next season. As I asked in a gamethread a couple days ago. Who cares? Next season is more likely going be a .500 year at best, so I don't see the point in caring until we have a team that a manager can succeed with.

Rick Hahn on The Score right now....

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Sep 14, 2013 -> 06:56 PM) How much of that accumulated WAR is from Chris Sale and to a lesser extent Daniel Hudson? Two great picks plus Beckham & Reed and I'm guessing that's the bulk of our drafted WAR from those 4 drafts to date. While our drafts have been better in recent years, I bet Sale accounts for +50% of that number, which makes Hahn's fact somewhat misleading. Sure we hit big on one of our picks and experienced quick returns, but let's not over-reward ourselves for that. Our overall drafting and lack of spending (historically) has left plenty to be desired. The new CBA rules really help us going forward though and we should see some significant returns from the 2011 draft next year with Erik Johnson & Marcus Semien. Yes, but a lot of other teams have hit on a couple superstars since 2008 too. I mean, look at the Angels for instance. They've accumulated over 20 WAR JUST from Mike Trout, yet we still outpaced them since 2008 according to Hahn. And speaking of the Angels, not to derail my own thread, but holy s***, what a 2009 draft they had! In 2009, they drafted Mike Trout, Tyler Skaggs, Patrick Corbin, Garrett Richards, and a few lesser players who are in the bigs, but not anyone good. Now Skaggs did not sign, and instead signed the following year, but still, jesus they selected an amazing group. And yet we STILL have a higher accumulated WAR. -
If there was a White Sox catch-all thread, I would have put this there, but....I digress... He just made a really interesting point to a caller who said our drafts every year are a bust.... According to Rick, he said from the 2008-2011 drafts, we lead all of baseball in accumulated WAR of those drafted player while we are DEAD LAST in dollars spent on those drafted player from 2008-1011. Interesting.

QUOTE (bbilek1 @ Sep 14, 2013 -> 12:46 PM) How many teams in your league? What's the point of having Gresham and Eifert? 10 or 12? And there is no point. I actually didn't even know what team Gresham played for when I drafted him, because I needed a backup TE, and then I made a trade for Tyler Eifert because I'm an ND fan. This is just my "for fun" league that I drafted while watching Breaking Bad, so I didn't pay a whole lot of attention. -
Screw that, call in and plead with Rick to go sign Cano and Abreu and Ellsbury!

QUOTE (danman31 @ Sep 14, 2013 -> 03:52 AM) GTA 5 is only 16 GB? Uncharted 2 and 3 were bigger than that. How can an open world game the size they are advertising not be a gigantic file? When I actually got in to the PS store and looked in the description, it said to make sure you have 36 GB Free, so once again it looked like a false rumor. Either way, the Rockstar Games Collection is only 32 GB for all 4 of those games, so I definitely have enough room.
-
Ok, I think I just got persuaded to purchase GTA 5 through the PSN. Like I said before, I like actually having a physical copy of my games, but I just saw a preorder deal that sounds too good to be true, assuming I have the space on my harddrive for all this. So you preorder on PSN, you get the blimp like every other preorder, but you ALSO get 75% off any Rockstar game. Apparently, included in this list is the "Rockstar Games Collection", which includes Red Dead Redemption, GTA: Episodes from Liberty City, LA Noire, and Midnight Club: LA. And you'd get that all for $15! So essentially those 4 games plus GTA 5 for $75. That's like $17 a game. Of those games, luckily the only one I own is RDR (who doesn't). I've played LA Noire and really liked it. Haven't played Midnight Club since the original on PS2, which I loved, and have never played Episodes from Liberty City. My PS3 has 191 GB free, so I should be safe here considering GTA 5 apparently takes up about 16 GB of space, and it has to be the biggest of those 3 other games I would download.

Is it just me, or is this the most Josh Hamilton-looking swing and follow through you've ever seen? His stance right before the pitch is a little different, but man, their swings look the exact same to me. http://wapc.mlb.com/play/?content_id=30584...pic_id=11493214

QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Sep 13, 2013 -> 07:11 PM) Do you have a link or anything for that? I havent heard anything about the online being released immediately. Nevermind, October 1st. The article I read on IGN said that 500 online missions would be available on launch. I took that as meaning the launch of GTA 5 on Tuesday, not the launch of the online part. So yeah, October 1st. Which I prefer, so I can get in to the storyline for a couple weeks before online play takes over our lives.

QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Sep 13, 2013 -> 07:10 PM) Dont like either of the first 2 choices but Id go Knowshon, and then I definitely agree about Bradshaw. My alternatives to Moore/Moreno are Woodhead, Gresham, and Eifert. -
QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Sep 13, 2013 -> 06:54 PM) Im liking NHL 14 so far. The hitting is a little unrealistic but its fun. Im getting anxious for GTA now that its so close. I cant wait till the online play opens up at the end of the month either. After reading that article chili posted a little while back about it, it seems like its gonna be incredible. I actually think they've changed it so the online part will be released on Tuesday as well. Probably a giant download for it, but I think it's good to go on launch day.

I got a couple predictaments in my 2 leagues.... Lance Moore or Knowshon Moreno and Tavon Austin, Golden Tate, or Ahmad Bradshaw (Ballard is out for the year). I'm leaning towards Moreno and Bradshaw.
