2013-2014 NFL Thread

It's just like the Cowboys to not be winning this game by 20+ right now. Giants have had 5 turnovers, have looked awful, and yet, they are down by 6 and have the ball with a few minutes left in the game. This would be such a Cowboys loss. -

Oh man, just checked my Soxtalk fantasy team. I'm killing it right now. Only person who has more than my 140 pts is the guy who had Peyton Manning and D. Thomas in that Denver game. On that team I got Kaepernick, Adrian Peterson, Jason Witten, Reggie Wayne, and even Greg Zuerlein who led all kickers in pts so far. -

Jason Witten. Love you. Up by 3 pts now. Unless Josh Brown starts kicking some FG, and Murray and Witten get shut down, I should be in good shape here. -
How comfortable are you rooting for the draft pick?

LOLGIANTS. Punt bounces off a Giants player, Cowboys recover. This is awesome. -

This Cowboys D is flying all over the place. Secondary still looks questionable, but their front 7 are killing it. -

I wouldn't have a problem if Romo never threw the ball towards Terrance Williams again. EDIT: Well, maybe I won't have to as Romo appears to be dead on the turf. Oh boy, it's Orton time..... -

Witten and Murray may end up saving my ass. They made up those 17 pts I needed, just in the 1st half. I'm now just trailing by those 4 Josh Brown points. If I could get 2 more TD's out of Witten/Murray, that should seal it. -

Pregame interview w/ Ware discussing moving from OLB to DE - "I'm excited to get to do more rush defense now." Gets INT in pass coverage on 1st play. Hahaha. Love you Eli. -

And I am pretty much dead in the water right now. I need about 4 TD between Murray and Witten tonight to win. Down by 17 and the other guy had Josh Brown left. -

QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 8, 2013 -> 06:51 PM) WTF happened? Why did Ridley only get 9 carries? He fumbled, then got benched. Vereen took over the game. I'm pissed. -

QUOTE (TRU @ Sep 8, 2013 -> 06:29 PM) Tell me about it, luckily I also drafted Vereen so I will still be fine.. Im hoping this isnt the end of Ridley My opponent started Vreen, and he scored him 15 pts. s***. Luckily for me, Reggie Wayne had a nice game, Aaron Rodgers is doing work for me, and I still have Witten and Murray left to play tonight, down by 19 right now. -
I don't know if anyone has noticed, but Adam Engel has 31 SB in 56 games this year. He is actually on a slightly slower pace than Micah Johnson is right now, but stealing bases at a better percentage (31 for 39).

Well, I guess I should trade Stevan Ridley asap now. Fumbles, gets benched, and then Vreen goes 100+ yards. Glad my 2nd RD pick has just become fodder......s***. -

At the last second I decided to sit Bradshaw and Stevie Johnson, and play Tate and Austin. So far Bradshaw has -3 yards at halftime, Tate has 0 receiving yards, Johnson has 13 receiving yards, and Austin plays later. -

QUOTE (kev211 @ Sep 8, 2013 -> 01:16 AM) You struggled against Illinois State until about the mid 3rd quarter last week. Doing that against an FCS team is far from "dominating." I didn't lose sleep over the 51-28 victory. -
Saw The League. Great stuff as usual. And as usual, Raffi was aweosome.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 8, 2013 -> 01:00 AM) Reed is good. Many, many of his teammates are not good. That is all. Reed is far more than "just another bullpen arm". Kid is 24 years old and made the majors 14 months after he was drafted in the 3rd round. I'm good with him not being a lockdown closer yet.

QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 7, 2013 -> 05:32 PM) I covered a kid from Fremd last year that is a QB there. I take it he's not playing yet. Milas or Bilas? Keith Wenning is our QB, and a pretty good one at that. Looking at the depth chart, Jack Milas is a freshman QB, but I believe Ozzie Mann is the our backup, as if I have actually heard of Ozzie. -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 7, 2013 -> 05:39 PM) I don't mind people cheering for the draft pick nearly as much as the people waiting to celebrate every failure by declaring how right they were about player x being mediocre because of a single outing. The garbage about Reed in this thread is a perfect example. I think it's just the timing of the failures that we cheer on. If the Sox were tied, I would have been rooting for Reed to dominate. Or if we were losing already, I wouldn't be happy about anyone's bad defense. But in the last inning and winning, I'm completely good with failure, no matter who it is.

QUOTE (bbilek1 @ Sep 7, 2013 -> 05:29 PM) Well aren't you just so much smarter than everyone. As if picking #3 or #4 will make any bit of difference years down the road. (yes, I understand how slotting and money works with the draft). So you know we are 4.5 games ahead of the #4 spot so we would have to do some serious winning the with the #4 and #5 teams doing some serious losing to lose our #3 status. Not everyone. There are others rooting for the #2 draft spot too.

Ball State 2-0, both dominating wins. I heard from someone we were preseason ranked #35 by CBS or something, which seems waaaay to generous, but I wonder if after this week if we are somewhere around a top 40 spot.
