421 ft on a ball he swung with 1 hand

Holy s***, Carter just flipped that ball 400 feet.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Aug 28, 2013 -> 10:02 PM) Chris Sale is going to strike out 16 and get a no decision because White Sox. Chris Sale gets 20 K, gets no decision on an unearned run, and Veal blows it in the 10th, and Sox lose. That's what I want to see happen.

Am I crazy, or is JorDanks emulating Dunn in the box? More of a closed stance, but man, if you squint he looks exactly like Dunn at the plate.
-
There is that infamous flip basehit over 2B. He does that a lot.

Josh Phegley's #1 hated class growing up was HISTORY.

Baaah, come on Phegley.....WHAT TEAM ARE YOU EVEN ON HERE!?!?!?!

Sony revealed today that you can remotely turn on your PS4 from a smartphone, tablet, Vita, and start downloading things, and then when it's done download the PS4 will back back in to sleep mode.

Guys, I apologize if I may potentially have ruined history. I took a dump while the Sox were batting in the 3rd, and didn't get done spewing out the liquid pizza until after Sale was done in the 4th. So of the 4 innings I have seen, he has 10 Ks. It's my fault he didn't have any K's in the 4th, I wasn't watching, because my butt was throwing up.

Damn, I wish Avi knew how to steal. He is too fast to not steal 20-25 bases a year.

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 28, 2013 -> 08:50 PM) He's had a few doubles on liners down the LF line And that routine grounder that he beat out was to SS. He's actually spread it around pretty well, but most of his hits have been over the 2B's head.

Coats is 2/2, 2 2B (36 total!) and his 11th SB so far. Tony Buc so far... 3 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 4 K

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 28, 2013 -> 08:41 PM) Thought he was out. As for the first inning, Avi has to learn how to elevate the ball. That's what I was saying a couple days ago. His pull swing is so down, and his opposite field approach is to flick the ball over 2B. He is showing no indications in his approach that he will even hit 15 HR a season right now.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 28, 2013 -> 04:24 PM) As far as puke stories, one time in college I had talked to a girl in a bar for a couple hours and decided to go for the one-night stand (OK I guess that makes me a jerk) and drove back to the girl's dorm and she puked when we got out of the car and that was that in my mind. I actually walked her into the dorm (she didn't need to go to the hospital), unlocked her door, put her in her bed, put her blanket on her and left. I heard later she was embarrassed but told people I did a nice thing in taking care of her. Having a 1-night-stand isn't jerkish if it's understood between both people.

QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Aug 28, 2013 -> 06:14 PM) Id imagine hes talking about Backbreaker. The physics engine was incredible but the rest of the game was garbage. They made a 2nd Backbreaker game with just skill events and it was actually a lot of fun. If EA could get their hands on that physics engine it could have the potential to be incredible. No, not Backbreaker, I am assuming he meant 2K All-Pro Football 2008. It was a full fledged sim football game, not arcade-like.

Elliot Johnson. Funny man.

After purchasing every single Madden from like '98 until 2010, I have stopped buying them and don't regret that decision at all. I wish 2K could get back in to the fray.

QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Aug 28, 2013 -> 03:06 PM) When I was a kid I typically had a dozen or more tennis balls laying around somewhere. I would always find them at the park near my house. Some of the best times of my childhood were had by hitting them around my yard with a baseball bat or throwing them onto the sloped roof of my house and catching it. I don't think I used any of them to actually play tennis more than a few times in my whole life. Same. My buddies and I used to play "court ball", which was just baseball in a culdesac, but we used tennis balls. We were always losing them with homeruns in to other people's backyards. And then on our "off days" I used to stand at the edge of my driveway and practice hitting certain spots on the garage door with my pitches. I wonder if my parents ever took a picture of our garage door before they bought a new one, because there were AT LEAST 100+ dents in it from not only myself pitching at it, but my 2 brothers and I playing hockey up against it throughout our whole childhood. There was a distinct like 4x4 square in the middle where there were hardly any dents because that's where the dent stood. Haha.

Official 2013-2014 NCAA Football Thread
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to Kyyle23's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Ball State just installed a video replay board FINALLY, and our season kicks off in a couple days! I should follow the team more than I do (which is very minimal now that my buddy graduated), but I've heard we are supposed to have our best team since our undefeated regular season 4 years ago. Also, Pete Lembo was voted #1 head coach in NCAA that "you need to know". We saw Brady Hoke had success and then get a huge job in Michigan, so I am wondering if Lembo could have a similar fate if this team gets another bowl game. We were a missed FG away from getting a BCS bowl game last year. -
QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 27, 2013 -> 09:29 PM) Yeah, or people who don't have a lot of temptation don't understand what that is like. I had a very good friend when I was in my early twenties who was absolutely gorgeous. Everywhere we would go, dudes would be throwing themselves at her. Now I'm not saying her cheating was condoned, but if every time I went out I had chicks trying to f*** me, it might be a bit more of a challenge to remain faithful. The key is what you pointed out; trying not to put yourself in those positions. Sometimes, however, it s unavoidable. I do actually find it somewhat more forgiveable when a woman cheats to vs. when a guy cheats. And the only reason for that is it's almost always a guy pursuing a girl. I'm not saying it doesn't happen where a girl is all over a guy, because it definitely does, but I think we can all agree it's typically a guy trying to convince a girl to sleep with him, not the other way around. But either way, I find it reprehensible.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 27, 2013 -> 08:43 PM) I think generally your thoughts are on point, but I also find that the severity of this attitude is directly proportionate to opportunities to do so. What do you mean? Like I feel this vitriol about it because I've never put in a situation to cheat? If so, you could be right. I've never cheated because I really despise it, but I've never had a chance to cheat (probably because I don't put myself in those situations as well).

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Aug 27, 2013 -> 06:49 PM) By the way, that 5 step post of mine was a joke. I figured #5 would give that away. Ok good, because I read most of it shaking my head and wanted to reply with something like "Yeah, so basically no one should ever be themselves, unless they are already a s*** person", but I refrained.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Aug 27, 2013 -> 04:33 PM) Replied to the one from Sunday. Excellent. Waiting for that response and not asking twice makes you look really good. I'm honestly surprised it happened, but that's great news bud!
