  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 5, 2012 -> 09:08 AM) I picked Price for the long run, simply because of injury fears. Same. I picked Sale for 2012, because I think he will be fine for a couple years, but in the long run, I'd take Price.
  2. Hahaha. Great job Gordon, pretty awesome. http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_..._video_22841869
  3. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 4, 2012 -> 06:33 PM) Really? Those other movies aren't new???? No way!!!! Ok, I guess you don't see the point of a movie fest. That's fine. My point was that when you are paying $10 for a movie, you are seeing a brand new one, not one that is many years old. So yeah, they are $2 cheaper, but they are also movies you can purchase for $5, or easily find online for free. I'm just not a movie go-er. I can't think of the last movie I have ever seen that wasn't on the $5 club. Now the Drive-In, that's that s*** I do like.
  4. Took them long enough to finally give Shoemaker a promotion, and he hasn't missed a beat.
  5. QUOTE (G&T @ Jul 4, 2012 -> 07:41 PM) You can't get it on ESPN 3? blackout restrictions apply to espn3.com as well.
  6. Youk is quickly becoming a fan favorite with a home game like yesterday, and a stellar defensive inning.
  7. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 4, 2012 -> 07:34 PM) Damn, A.J. strikes out a ton this season. While he is striking out twice as much as last year, he is still only at 12.5%, which is least 3rd least of all qualified catchers.
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 4, 2012 -> 07:32 PM) Greinke is your man. If the Sox got Greinke, the Sox might win the WS. It would take 3-4 GOOD prospects I bet with no guarantee he re-signs. Cole Hamels may come cheaper. But I don't see either of them happening. Maybe someone like Joe Blanton would be a lot more possible. That 4.85 is scary, but his 89 K to 15 K is very, very good. Just needs to limit those HR balls, but yeah, US Cellular isn't the best place to try and throw less HRs.
  9. Ron Washington is probably wondering who the hell this Perzanyski dude is behind the plate. He is having a helluva series so far. Bet he wishes he could use that guy on Tuesday.
  10. It's amazing how Hamilton gets around on that inside pitch. Off the bat, it looked like he got jammed on the hands, and he hit it about 400 ft.
  11. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 4, 2012 -> 06:21 PM) Well, I am going to guess the Sox get more than 3 runs this game anyway.
  12. Well, I am going to guess the Sox get more than 3 runs this game anyway.
  13. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 4, 2012 -> 05:45 PM) imax is 15 a pop, so its normal In fact, an adult ticket there is 10.50 for a normal showing. Sorry 25 dollars is too rich for your blood. Yea, but you aren't seeing 3 new movies. You are rewatching 2 movies that you can BUY for cheaper, and then seeing a new one. And going to the theaters is a complete rip-off anyway, so I guess if you are used to blowing money at the theater, then I guess you wouldn't really care anyway.
  14. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 4, 2012 -> 05:30 PM) I got Batman Begins on DVD for $8 at target. Exactly.
  15. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 4, 2012 -> 01:53 PM) Sitting in AMC about to see Spiderman, pretty excited. AMC is selling tickets where you can see the Batman (nolan) trilogy for 25 bucks, 40 bucks for IMAX. That is pretty badass. So more than $8 a movie? Yeah.....no thanks, that doesn't sound like a great deal at all.
  16. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 4, 2012 -> 11:40 AM) I hope this isn't an ESPN blackout game for locals. I love watching the national broadcasts when I can. It almost certainly will be. It looks like ESPN picked this game up, it wasn't pre-arranged. Since it's being dual-cast, you are likely to see ESPN News on, instead.
  17. Put ice cubes under your hat, it helps a lot.
  18. QUOTE (The Critic @ Jul 4, 2012 -> 11:20 AM) I played with a guy who bought a couple DeMarini's for himself and I had to laugh. Kid couldn't hit the ball out of the infield and he's dropping cash on triple-walled bats. I told him "it ain't the bat, it's the batter - if you're good it don't matter". Right, which is why I figure I can probably grab any old bat and be fine with it. My game is hitting linedrives to RCF, not hitting HR. I only swing about 80% as hard as I would if I was trying to hit a HR, so no point in me buying a powerful bat.
  19. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 4, 2012 -> 11:25 AM) Well the Hawks have money, the Bulls don't. It's different when you can be a FA player than when you have to work through trades. I seem to recall the Bulls chasing LeBron, Wade, Bosh, etc. two years ago... Hawks don't really have the money either. Only like $7M of cap space, I believe.
  20. Reports are coming out now saying that Suter is headed to the Wild, and Parise could very well join him there. Damn Minnesota, damn.
  21. Well luckily the bat I had (some DeMarini) was given to me for free, but it still still like a $200-$250 bat brand new, and absolutely perfect for my style.
  22. I got my Zune HD stolen out of my car yesterday. Originally sold for $200 4 years ago, they now sell for $600 because Microsoft stopped making them. SON OF A b****.
  23. Someone broke in to my car last night, among valuable electronics, they stole my softball bat. f***ers. Now I'm screwed.
  24. QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ Jul 4, 2012 -> 12:58 AM) Deunte Heath is getting called up according to twitter with Crain going on the D.L. That makes 10 rookies on this team, 6 of them in the bullpen, yes? EDIT: Yup. OF Jordan Danks IF Eduardo Escobar SP Jose Quintana SP Dylan Axelrod RP Addison Reed RP Nate Jones RP Hector Santiago RP Leyson Septimo RP Brian Omogrosso RP Duente Heath That makes 10 rookies on the first place Sox, 6 of them in the bullpen. That's a f***ing amazing story. 2 comeback players of the year, a rookie manager, 3 rookie coaches, and 10 rookie players on a team that's in 1st place. Incredible.
  25. Walker went 3/5 yet again. Stole his 36th base. Having a pretty sexy season, just needs to strike out less, and get more extra base hits. DeMichele went 3/4. Hitting .571 in his 2 games since his promotion.
