Barnum hit a HR in his 2nd AB.

At first I was like "Oh come on, is this the same storyline again?" and then I thought "f*** it, Liam Neeson is going to s*** on a group of thugs again, any storyline is just a bonus"

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 21, 2012 -> 04:55 PM) Can't teams go over budget without consequences as long as it's not more than 5%? If so, we should have more than $200k to throw at a guy like Ayala right? Well, we saved money from our other signings, so we can freely use that money for Ayala.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 21, 2012 -> 03:22 PM) DKnobler @DKnobler Peralta gets 8-game suspension. He's appealing, but Davey's protest may help AL East more than it helped Nationals. Woah, that's hefty. I was expecting 3 games.

KW whining about (OK bringing up) attendance again

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 21, 2012 -> 01:05 AM) Huh? 2010 the first half and 2012 (so far)....but 2009 and 2011? Sorry, I meant 2 of the 3 seasons, 2010 and 2012, with 2011 being the s*** year. -
QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jun 20, 2012 -> 11:44 PM) OK, I see all this talk about Breaking Bad, I see there was a catch up marathon and apparently another one coming up. I know NOTHING about the show. Sell me on this and I might try to pull off that catch up marathon over time. What do I need to know here. Bryan Cranston. Overqualified science teacher. Diagnosed with cancer. Worried he has left his wife and soon-to-be 2 children without anything. Hears about the kind of loads of money his DEA agent brother-in-law confiscates from meth operations. Runs in to a former student who is in the meth business. Partners up, sells meth, makes money for family. That's the skinny. Best show on TV.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 20, 2012 -> 12:33 PM) Are you going to justify the Rios contract? Terrible contract no matter what he is doing currently. Not that you are wrong, but 2 of the 3 seasons we have had Rios, he has been worth more than he has made. 2011 being the odd-year-out, and it just so happen to be SOOO bad that it actually negates all the positive value he provided in those other 2 seasons for us. -
Not a chance I would pick up that option on Jake, but yeah, I'd be down for a 2 yr/$28 deal or something, although he could get more elsewhere.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jun 20, 2012 -> 01:44 PM) The office campout was some of the best comedy I've ever watched. I love the "man trip" from S2, and the Insane Clown Posse episode from S1. My favorites. I just love this show. EDIT: Oh yeah, and the bodybuilding one. Loved that.

Brent Morel rehabbing back in southern Cali
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to chisoxfan09's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 12:56 AM) Who would have thought Brent Morel would be sent home at this stage of the season to be on his own rehabbing a bad back. Sounds like the team has pretty much written him off. Sad, but this is the Crede thing all over again. He's done. There you go again, dealing in absolutes and drama. Sigh...... -
Jim Callis @jimcallisBA #WhiteSox signed 6th-rder Kyle Hansen for $250k ($180k pick value). St. John's RHP, low 90s to 96 FB, brother of Craig. #mlbdraft

So I had those new McDonald's Orange Artic shakes. They are pretty damn good, and now my burps smell like fruit loops. "Oh, I like that!"

Can we please find a big league 3B?!
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to macsandz's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I say we go ahead and trade for RSox prospect Kolbrin Vitek? Why? Because he plays 3B, and I did my class project on him over Spring Training. Hah, selfish reasons, so what! -

Also, Micah Johnson went 3/5 with a 2B in his GF debut, 2 weeks after being drafted.

Bruney starting? Also, Duente Heath is quietly having a great season. WHIP under 1.00, K/9 at 11.34, BB/9 at 2.43. ERA at 1.89. That's very nice.

I've heard they think he may have some disease too, because he was losing a ton of weight I guess. They think he may have developed Glutton/Wheat allergies or something. I heard this all on The Score a week or two ago. -

Target Field vs. Oakland Colosseum? How terrible one-sided, that match-up isn't even close. -

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 01:06 AM) If we had gone 4-12, we'd be at .500. He didn't say we have gone 4-12, he said we have lost 12 of 16. Can't you even read? JEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZZZ!!!! -
Borgias S2 Finale. WOW.

Not a terrible resolution to The Killing. After they got Jamie to confess, I was disappointed, but then once they revealed that it was technically their aunt Terri who put the car in the lake, which drown Rosie and actually killed her, I was more pleased. That's actually a pretty good twist, what with her not knowing it was her own niece who was in the trunk and all.

Slow pitch softball thread
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to ChiliIrishHammock24's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Had a triple and 2 doubles in my last game. Haha. I LOVE when the batters box is flat, because I really helps me smash the ball to right CF. I hit every ball there, and all of them made it to the fence. If I was fast, it would have been 3 triples easily. Then I come up with the walk off slaughter run on 3rd, and I smash one to RCF again, but the outfielder makes a great diving catch. We ended up winning 15-6, but I really wanted that walk off! Damn! AVG up to .682 this year. -

QUOTE (TitoMB @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 04:58 PM) Oh he was? I didn't see that then, and the Dodger announcer didn't point it out, I guess. Yeah, he really wasn't even mad or yelling much until he got tossed.
