  1. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 3, 2012 -> 03:51 PM) Prediction... If Sale pitches deep into the game tonight, Charlie Leesman will start on Sunday. Sunday's starter is now listed as "TBA" instead of "Sale". Maybe they are holding out on the possibility that he gets the starting nod, if not, maybe they pitch him Sunday. Either way, I say let the kid do it. Skip him Sunday, and let him pitch the ASG. It's a huge honor for a young player, and it will cut about 5-6 innings off his total.
  2. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 3, 2012 -> 03:18 PM) LOL, omg... I hate that stupid little Cubs song. I don't know if songs can actually be gay, but if they can, that song manages it. Oh no, they definitely can be....
  3. 2/4 for Hawkins with 1 BB, 2 K. 10 Ks over 5 IP for Rienzo so far. This dude is feeling it this season. 55 K over 48 IP this season. Just needs to get that walk total down a little.
  4. Walker 3/5 with 2 3B, 4 RBI. Very nice re-appearance for Shane Lindsay.
  5. "Chris Sale make the all-star game." - CHECK
  6. People should be mad at the fans for voting in Napoli, not the managers/players for picking Weiters. AJ deserves it more than Weiters, but a LOT of catchers deserve it more than Napoli. It should be AJ starting, and Weiters/Mauer as the backups.
  7. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 01:42 PM) I don't know if I want Dunn participating in the HR derby. It'll make that event a hell of a lot more enjoyable, but at what risk? I feel like the HR Derby probably effects pure hitters, like Konerko or Miggy, more than it effects dudes that swing for a HR everytime anyway, like Dunn and Fielder.
  8. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 01:40 PM) I'm surprised Dunn made it since he's hitting .215. It said he was a player selection. The guys in the AL must like this dude, or want to see him drop bombs in the HR Derby.
  9. Also, very good start for Shirek. 6 IP, 6 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 6 K. Dude carries a very nice 4.5 K/BB ratio. Dan Remenowsky continues to be awesome. Now has a 1.70 ERA with 46 K to 12 BB in 42 IP between AA and AAA. Best part is, he has only allowed 24 hits in those 42 innings. Dude just does not get hit.
  10. Hawkins with a huge day. 3/5, 5 runs, 2B, BB, 3 RBI, SB. Kevan Smith, who many people like, hit a 2-run HR. His 4th. Solid start for Hernandez. 6 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 0 BB, 4 K. Really needs to get those strikeouts up though.
  11. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 10:24 PM) Princeton is 8/10 in stolen bases tonight. Barraza is the catcher. Princeton also had 6 errors. They a team full of track and field players or what?
  12. QUOTE (ChrisLikesBaseball @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 03:42 PM) Anyone know the modern record for CG losses in a season? Jake has 3 this season now... http://www.baseball-reference.com/blog/archives/3557 Or since 1990, Livan Hernandez, Roy Halladay, and Roger Clemens had 15 CG losses.
  13. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 03:38 PM) I looked at it, too. Looked clearly foul to me. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 03:39 PM) It looked way foul to me. Oh, so you could see the ball in front of the pole on the replay? I'll have to check it out later on MLB.TV if I remember.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 03:32 PM) Went back and looked after your post, and it pretty clearly disappears behind the pole Weird how you and I seem to be the only people that noticed/cared.
  15. Konerko has hit in to SOOOOOO many double plays recently, jesus.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 03:30 PM) Yep, it disappeared You got one of them fancy TV rewind things? Because I do not, and I am very surprised they didn't review that.
  17. I'm sure Jake will get at least 2 yrs/$24M from somebody.
  18. I don't know Stone Pony, it looked like that ball disappeared behind the pole...
  19. Damn, can only get 15 Ks now. Damnit Youk!
  20. Jake is now 1-3 in complete games this season. He must hate this offense.
  21. 13 strikeouts through 8 innings. Awesome effort, boys. Let's just go ahead and let them strike out the side in the 9th, just to make it a cool 16 Ks.
  22. Cervelli just caught the pitch with his mitt facing up, and the ump called it a strike. lol. Even he was surprised.
