QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 21, 2012 -> 07:59 PM) It's going to take quite the bounceback for me to ever like Adam Dunn again. I never stopped liking him. I have complete faith in that dude. -

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 21, 2012 -> 12:00 PM) Cue the "best shape of his life" articles. Yeah, but ones that include something quantifiable are cool with me. Saying he lost 30 pounds can be proved or disproved. It's the articles that say "Feels great" or "Feels in the best shape of his life" or "Has a new outlook" or something are stupid and fluffy. If Adam really lost 30 pounds, and that should be quite noticeable, then I think this is great news. -

Starting a dialogue with Terry. He seems down to help out. I hope the Twins grant us press passes! -

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jan 20, 2012 -> 08:17 PM) January 20th seems like a long time to go without signing a major league free agent. Is that in reference to the Sox, or that Fielder hasn't been signed yet? -
QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 12:22 PM) Apple's new textbook software is amazing and revolutionary... for their profit margins since you can only use those textbooks on an iPad. If you REALLY want to be revolutionary, open it up to the world. time for Google to step up and create a TRUELY open next generation digital textbook platform. How so?

Sox obviously aren't "out of market", but I AM the lone Sox fan in my family, and was constantly put in Cubs gear as a child. No idea how I broke away from that, but i'd imagine Frank Thomas and Magglio had a lot to do w/ it. Also, I think Joe Crede helped a lot too. My nickname was Joe Cool, and my favorite # was 24, and I always wanted to play 3B. his number was obviously 24, played 3B, and his intials were JC (Joe Cool), so I guess I got attached to him that way. Cowboys - My dad is a Cowboys fan, and that's because HIS dad was a Cowboys fan. So that's how I am one. No idea how my grandpa became one, and he died before we ever met. Rams - 100% bandwagon, and I would say I am probably a fair-weather fan. I root for them all the time, but I don't pay a whole lot of attention to them when they are bad. I only became a fan of them because they won the Superbowl, and I loved their jerseys and helmets. lol. My dad actually told me he also liked the Rams as a kid because of their helmets too.

I have tentatively decided on Terry Doyle. But this is if the Twins give us access and press passes. So far they don't seem to sure on the idea. Mets and Pirates seem to be the only teams fully on board w/ this. Phillies won't call me back/reply to my emails/or answer their phone. -

Every time something like this comes out, I fear Alexei is really like 32 and Viciedo is like 26. Although Viciedo actually looks baby-faced. Alexei.....not so much. -
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 18, 2012 -> 09:48 AM) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sopa coulda fooled me That was my point, it's the only page not blocked. Well, actually I think PIPA is unblocked too. But I mean come on.....dat ass!

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 11:49 PM) Why would the new front office and ownership group be concerned about a mistake the previous regime made? That's what I was thinking, then again, there is also Matsuzaka, so.... -
Atta boy Dayan! http://www.csnchicago.com/blog/whitesox-ta...&feedID=621 Didn't Alexei contact Viciedo a few years ago too? Or was that Contreras contacting Alexei? Or was it all of the above? Anyway, I'm really hoping we can grab one of these two guys, and the fact that Soler has gotten almost no press so far works for our advantage.

QUOTE (mumbles3k @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 08:44 PM) The Show is pretty much the only game I ever play. I read that there's a demo for this year's game on the MONEYBALL Blu-ray, but I haven't had a chance to check it out yet. Not a demo, just a trailer. And the trailer is gameplay from last year. Pointless.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 12:59 AM) FWIW... I was in Bakersfield, CA last weekend visiting with family, nephew who plays baseball is coached by Brent Morel's old hitting coach. Morel was also in town promoting his charity. Long story short, got the chance to chat with the old coach, told him I'm a Sox fan and he said we're in for a surprise this year, that what we saw in September was what we can expect to see next season. Says Morel is the smartest player he's ever worked with and that he's made the adjustment to the majors and has been working his ass off during the off-season. Again, take it for what it's worth. But it was encouraging to hear. I can't remember where I heard this, but I also heard that all season Morel was worried about losing his job, so he was just swinging for contact, trying not to strike out. Then in September, once he no longer had to worry about being sent down, he started to feel loose at the plate and swing normally. Maybe if Ventura can instill come assurance and confidence in him, September can be a thing of the future. -
I thought Alzatraz was pretty good. Kind of worries me it might be one of those "LOST" type shows with mystery after mystery after mystery. But damnit, how the hell did none of them age!!! I need to know!

QUOTE (Tex @ Jan 16, 2012 -> 04:26 PM) I thought about this before posting and I kept thinking about your class heading to Florida from Indiana for Spring Training and interested in Indiana players. All I can think of is f*** you Your statement confuses me. -
QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 16, 2012 -> 02:57 PM) Maybe it's me, but Shameless has sucked the first two episodes this season. I thought last night's kind of sucked, but I liked the premiere episode last week.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 16, 2012 -> 10:43 AM) You managed to find a school that offers a "baseball class" and you need help? A good journalist always asks around. You never know who might know someone. We already have a list of about 10-12 players on our board, but minor leaguers aren't the most reported on players, so maybe someone knows of a little known story that we can use. Currently I am thinking about talking to Red Sox 2B Kolbrin Vitek, Rays IF Justin O'Conners, and ATL's Brandon Beachy. -

QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 15, 2012 -> 04:40 PM) Where's Scott Rolen these days? He's from Indiana. Not a bad idea. Lived in Evansville, went to HS in Indiana, and lives in the Bloomington area. But he might be too big of a player to want to spend time giving interviews to college kids. I'll relay the information though. -
I love Big Bang. Great comedy.

For some reason, I always think of this song when I hear the name "Soler". I don't even know if it's pronounced the same way, but it's always in my head....

I'm that much closer to my early season prediction of 49'ers over Ravens for the superbowl!
