So I am taking a Spring Training Reporting class this semester. I am a Telecommunications major, and it's pretty heavy on the journalism part. We are driving down to Florida for spring training, and doing a bunch of multimedia stuff on stories. Whether it be text articles, audio slideshows, video projects, or anything of that sort. We are currently in the process of getting story ideas, and particularly of players. Anyway, I was just wondering if you guys knew of any intriguing minor leaguers with good stories to tell. We should be getting press passes to interview players, but we are much more likely to target prospects and minor leaguers who have more time on their hands and are probably more open than the seasoned veterans and superstars. We have obviously listed names of players who have ties to Indiana, either by living here, playing for the Indianapolis Indians, going to a college in Indiana, or anything of that sort. But apart from those obvious, we are looking for other stories. Maybe a career minor leaguer who is considering giving up on his dream. Or maybe a kid who graduated with a good degree and is using it as a fall-back plan in case baseball doesn't work out. Something to that effect maybe. Any ideas?

Why get Edwin? The Sox won't be relevant in 2012, and maybe not even 2013. Edwin is approaching 30. I see no fit here.

Has anyone seen The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret??? S1 is on Netflix. It aired in 2009, but they have filmed a 2nd season now, and S2 premiered last week. I just watched S1 on a whim, and it's hilarious. I happen to be a big David Cross fan, and while the story is a little sketchy and drawn out some, it's got some hilarious moments and the lies he tells are so ridiculous. I recommend giving it a try. A scene from the show....

Cepedes did look awful, and you can't judge based off one game, but man, 0 for 3 with 3 K's looks SO much better in the boxscore than if you actually watched it. He looked completely lost.

A bunch of MLB '12 videos just came out. During one of the videos talking about full MOVE control, the guy demonstrating said you CAN mix and match, which is HUGE. So I can do a franchise of pitching/field w/ the Dualshock 3, and then swing the bat w/ the MOVE. Awesome news. Also, they said there is a new mode called "Diamond Dynasty". The name is all these released, but they said it is "a new mode not seen in any other sports game, not football, hockey, or basketball." Said they have been working on it for 4 years now. I'm really pumped to hear what it is all about.
