QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 7, 2010 -> 09:48 PM) Really, are we really pulling the internet typo police routine. E and A aren't THAT close. -

QUOTE (hi8is @ Sep 7, 2010 -> 09:44 PM) No, there not new players - you just clearly can't recognize the obvious... Tehan = Teahan Morel = Moral Oh ok cool, thanks. Yeah, I wasn't being sarcastic or anything. Glad to have your assistance. -

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Sep 7, 2010 -> 06:52 PM) I guess some people just refuse to look at the facts and forever hate Teahan. I wasn't that big of a fan of him, but he has produced since coming back. QUOTE (MattZakrowski @ Sep 7, 2010 -> 08:25 PM) This. And Viciedo is awful at 3rd and his lack of walk taking kills his offensive value. Teahen and/or Moral FTW. Teahan and Moral must be new players. I've never heard of them.... -
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 7, 2010 -> 08:32 PM) I dunno. The Hot Fire thing has been a huge hit. Nah, Viciedo hasn't been that great and now with Manny, he really doesn't have a place to play. If Beckham is going to miss time, I want to see Morel playing 3B and Vizquel or Lillibridge at 2nd.
-
God damnit Teahen is so worthless. FREE MOREL! Seriously, that should be my new signature.
-
QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Sep 7, 2010 -> 04:01 PM) Beckham scratched per Merken. Morel! Morel! Morel!

Our first priority is the AL Central and winning it, but since it looks like the Twins may never lose again, I have begun to keep an eye out on the Rays and see what they do. We are currently 2nd in the Wild Card, and assuming the Red Sox hold their current 11-2 lead over Tampa, we would be 6 games out tonight with the Rays having to play through the Yankees and Red Sox over the next month. I know some of you don't want to settle for a wild card, but I can't help but root for the Twins and Rays team buses to crash into eachother.

My prediction for Ejax.... 7 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 9 K
-
QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Sep 6, 2010 -> 09:21 AM) Teahen is playing 3rd base, because Alexei needs a day off and Omar is playing SS. Yeah, I know, that is why we have Brent Morel on this team. Morel could actually play 3B or SS, so Omar would play the other.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 6, 2010 -> 09:54 AM) Who else should play 1st? Teahen.

Found the actual rule..... "(i) In the judgment of the umpire, the base coach at third base, or first base, by touching or holding the runner, physically assists him in returning to or leaving third base or first base."
-
QUOTE (Queen Prawn @ Sep 5, 2010 -> 11:18 PM) Firstly I will say that I haven't seen the actual play. But when the Twins own thirdbaseman actually says no, it didn't help him get back to third and the one quote of the rules states it must help the player (it could have been a misquote not saying the quote I saw of the rule is accurate) it sounds heinous to me dude. The video is on mlb.com in the Twins/Rangers highlights from the game. The runner and the 3B coach MAY have made contacts with their fingers, but not even close to being enough to say he assited the runner in any way. The runner through his arms out to stop his motion, and they may have touched fingers. Certainly not on purpose or not anything that helped the runner. Even if the rule just states that it can be ANY contact, that's absolutely horses*** to end the game on that. It's like an umpire calling the "delay of game" rule on the pitcher, forcing in the game winning run on a bases loaded walk. Even if the rule is technically correct, that's embarrassing to call that to end a game.
-
Ok, EJax strikeouts Over/Under.... 10.5
-
This is the game Manny goes yard. I can feel it.
-
AJ with his typical "What kind of call was that? Let me proceed to swing at awful pitches now to try and prove a point" Ugh, that was awful. I knew as soon as I saw that first call against AJ that it would be the most obvious strikeout to come. Beckett just has to throw junk and AJ will swing at it because he is frustrated with ump. Just sad.

Very nice job by Phegley.

QUOTE (Marty34 @ Sep 5, 2010 -> 10:35 AM) Do you really think it's Ozzie's idea to rest Manny? Manny is a high maintenance player and in an attempt to get the best out of him these are things you have to do. Everyone knew that when they got him. It's like going to a Sox game and complaining about the $7 beers. Or....Kotsay is a .400 hitter off Beckett and Manny has never faced him....
-
QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 5, 2010 -> 09:43 AM) Manny is sitting today. I thought he would DH 30 games, or until the Sox were out of it. Well Kotsay IS batting like well vs. Beckett, and Manny has no AB. I just hope as soon as Beckett leaves the game, Manny comes in.
-
QUOTE (hi8is @ Sep 4, 2010 -> 09:16 PM) Big day tomorrow boys! Texas should be able to mash Blackburn - even without Hamelton. Beckett should be tough - hopefully M56 shows up and mows em down! A win tomorrow would be sweet - combine that with a Texas win - and I'm a happy camper. Anyone know how our team and players have faired against Beckett? This is all I can find: Beckett is 4-1 for his career against Chicago with a 3.72 ERA. Rios, Teahen, and Kotsay have done the best off him (min 10 AB). Rios is the only player with a HR vs. him (1 HR in 21 AB). Manny, Pierre, and Beckham have never faced him. V-Mart and Ortiz kill Buehrle.
-
QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Sep 4, 2010 -> 11:24 PM) I was gonna say. I haven't seen an Ozzie team retaliate in years when a pitcher hits us. Usually it's when a guy hits us once or more... Hawk always says "He's gonna pay, maybe not this game or the next one, but in a series" and yet nothing happens. I can't believe it was a year ago that Ozzie made headlines for this... http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=4387215 Seems like he forgot....
-
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 4, 2010 -> 10:27 PM) You know what sucks, everytime a Sox batter is hit, the Sox are warned. Every damn time. Umps know Ozzie wont shy away from retaliation, so they take it away from him altogether. That just really sucks. When was the last time we hit a batter, especially on purpose? We have been hit the 2nd most times, and hit someone the 2nd least amount. Ozzie lost his pair of balls a while ago when it comes to calling to have players hit.

Beckham is not having a good 10 minutes. And Salty does those splits because he gets some pleasure having his vagina rub against the Fenway soil. -

Lackey hitting Q sure LOOKED intentional, but Lackey is an idiot if it actually was. Can't load the bases up by hitting a guy because your catcher had weak hands.
