QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 07:30 PM) http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0110912/goofs I disagree. I saw a show on TV about all the goofs in movies, and I am pretty sure they had a clip of Samuel Jackson admitting that he messed up.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 07:05 PM) Nick Johnson is the most injury-prone player of the modern era. No thanks. Nick Johnson would like you to kindly take a look at this fellow....

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 07:01 PM) Man, how could you diss Donny like that. Any player I get a chance to have an autograph from is a welcomed opp. You should never say no. I remember even getting Rick Brunson autograph one time. Yes, the exact reason I got a Brent Lillibridge autograph. I got Harold Baines and Gavin Floyd. And then I got Jerry Owens and Brent Lillibridge. I think they both actually devalued my ticket they signed. -
QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 07:01 PM) Frank Whaley played Brett. Look it up. Yeah, but the joke is that Samuel Jackson messed up his lines and called him Brad.....even though his name is Brett http://www.evtv1.com/player.aspx?itemnum=5691

2010 Chicago White Sox Spring Training

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 06:57 PM) Had a blast today at the Sox-Indians game. Game was fairly by the numbers, Retherford looked great, Putz seems to have life on all of his stuff, Santos is looking like a major league pitcher, and Daniel Cabrera is a mess. What happened after the game is where the fun began. I had great seats right by the dugout, so after the game after being spurned by Ozzie and Cora, I got Nix over to sign a ball, Lucy came up behind him with a look of hopeful expectation on his face, I did not ask him to sign, felt awful afterward. Next, came Retherford. Really nice guy. Fellow next to me asked him if he was playing tomorrow, said nah, “Going to Vegas.” Next comes Jordan Danks. One of the most athletic looking guys I’ve ever seen. And I’ll tell you Jordan Danks might be the coolest damn guy on this team. We had the following exchange. Me: Think you’ll be in Charlotte, this year? JorDanks: Dunno, they haven’t told me anything yet. Me: at least they seem to be fast tracking you. (At this Danks turns with the biggest grin on his face.) Jordanks: Absolutely! (He then turned to leave) Me: it’s the production! Next comes Dayan, who still clearly struggles with his English, but was good enough to come over and sign. After all this I was pretty damn happy. The players had dried up, so we turned to leave, and made it half way through the parking lot before my brother realized he has left his jacket in the stadium. We had to run back for that, but in some sort of divine providence, we got back to the employee paring lot, right as The Carlos Quentin pulled up to the stop sign in his car. Got his autograph, thanked him profusely, and went on my merry. -
QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 06:55 PM) Huh? The line from Pulp Fiction is, "Check out the big brain on Brett". Even though the characters name is Brad? right?

Gartell just missed that one. Let's go Viciado.

QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 05:07 PM) I want to punch Bill Melton. He's worse than Ron Santo and that's saying a lot. Ouch, that is saying a lot, because Santo sounds like he is accustomed to having a drool bucket close by.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 04:17 PM) Ya, you're probably right. The game is just that real. Baseball in real life is very repetitive. Honestly, it would be boring if you dominated at every level and made the pros in a year. Usually it takes my guy 3-4 seasons to ever make the bigs. I had a career last year that took me like 5 seasons, and then I get traded and sent down to AAA again.

QUOTE (Cali @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 04:34 PM) you're so terrible Brent...thank god that situation will never be replicated during the regular season haha Hey, call him Lillibridge. Don't disgrace Morel by calling him Brent.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Mar 10, 2010 -> 04:32 PM) I know a place where you can get jerseys for $16 (shipping will cost you a lot though). Not authentic, probably from the pawn shops of China, but word has it, they look and feel like the real thing. Sounds like lightinthebox.com

I have always thought this would make a perfect walk up song..... Nelly - Batter Up Start it at 1:54, and should run to at least 2:07 when he says "Batter Up!" Afterall, Nelly DID play minor league baseball, and is a pretty good athlete. You ever see him in the celebrity softball tourney they have at the all-star break? Nelly mashes! QUOTE (SoxAce @ Mar 10, 2010 -> 04:07 PM) I believe so yes. Yes. I was lucky enough to watch the Dodgers and Indians square off in the fields in the back. -

QUOTE (chisoxfan09 @ Mar 10, 2010 -> 03:48 PM) Yeah I don't get that. If he was doing so well why reassign him? Is this normal for young prospects? I don't recall Beckham being reassigned last year. He played the entire ST. This doesn't make any sense. No, Beckham did not make it the whole ST. Trust me, I know. I flew down to AZ for ST last year, and was wetting myself with excitement to see Beckham, only to find out he got reassigned the day that we flew down. We saw a game on the 25th or 26th vs. the A's, so he was sent down probably March 23rd or 24th. EDIT: Found a link. He was sent down on the 25th, the DAY BEFORE I went to go see them play. Talk about some bullllssshhiittt. http://www.mouthpiecesports.com/media/whit...-beckham-19938/ -

De Aza is really trying to make this team.... 2-2 with an RBI so far. He is hitting .556 on the spring. Also, big Andruw with a triple and 2 RBI thus far. -
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Mar 10, 2010 -> 01:34 PM) David Cross did a very funny bit on people misusing the word "literally" in one of his stand-up routines (I think this one) a few years back.

QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Mar 10, 2010 -> 12:05 AM) Ive tried a new hitting strategy thats been working wonders for my RTTS. Instead of moving the left stick around to match the location of the ball on pitches, i just leave it at the center and WAIT for the pitch i want down the center of the plate.. I dont try guess pitch location anymore because it throws me off more than it helps. I just rely purely on my own eye whether its going to be out of the strike zone or not. Once i trained my eye to see certain things, i started to salivate at the sight of a curveball that starts out high and ends up right dead center of the strikezone for a HR. I have my RTTS guy at 21 years old, batting .378 with 30 HRs at the start of August for the St. Louis Cardinals... I have my power and contact at 90 a piece and im just starting to invest in other abilities. Very nice. I am getting the hang of hitting too. I have only played about 20 innings, but my last game was much better. I played the Twins at Target Field (Sweeet looking field btw). I scored like 5 or 6 runs. Hit a HR with Konerko and Jones. Konerko actually went 3-4 with a HR, 2B, single. I basically took my approach of always guessing LOW and FASTBALL, and then did the obvious. When I saw the pitch was not going to be low (because it didn't light up), i would slightly move the batting cursor up a little so it covers the top half of the zone. This allows me to get to a lot more high pitches, and barrel up the hanging stuff. I started crushing pitches after I did this.

QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 10, 2010 -> 12:49 PM) 3 cuts today. Catchers Miguel Gonzalez and Josh Phegley, and OF Jared Mitchell were reassigned to minor league camp. 52 left in camp. Ahhh bulls***. I wish they didn't cut Mitchell so early. He is very exciting to watch. -

QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 9, 2010 -> 09:51 PM) Q don't need no stinkin' walk-up music. Actually, Q's walk up song is "4 minutes to Save the World" the Madonna and Timberlake song. EDIT: I take that back, in 2008 he did, but maybe he has silence now. Then again, maybe he should go back to that song since it obviously worked for him in '08.
