  2. QUOTE (daa84 @ Mar 15, 2010 -> 09:06 PM) lol @ hawk taking jabs at pods ?
  3. I hope justin.tv or ustream is carrying the link for this game.
  4. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Mar 15, 2010 -> 11:22 AM) Would you? Twice.
  5. I thought this was "Bad mean wear black", that White Sox rap song.
  6. Keep them and bring back the vest we had a few years ago.
  7. QUOTE (chisoxfan09 @ Mar 14, 2010 -> 03:49 PM) Has he shown any secondary pitches at all? Or the potential to develop at least one? I think he has a pretty nice slider to back up his fastball.
  8. I can see why Ozzie wouldn't like Lillibridge. But Nix is quite the little masher.
  9. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Mar 14, 2010 -> 12:51 AM) I'm rooting for Santos, for 3 reasons. 1) I think he'll do well 2) With ESPN talking about him, it will be harder to pass him through waivers. 3) His name is awesome. Don't forget he is a good story, and a 2-minute story on ESPN waiting to happen.
  10. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Mar 13, 2010 -> 06:49 PM) I'm writing this in a rush, so forgive the usual errors. Thunderbolt’s epic spring training tour concluded today as Daniel Cabrera and Erick Threets were beaten by the Brewers in painful fashion. Floyd was dominant; the highlight was a vicious curve to put down Jim Edmonds. On the offensive end, Beckham and Rios are revved up and ready to go. Ramirez and Viciedo each had tremendous defensive plays, while Danksy 2 had a great throw from center to nail a guy at home. Viciedo, following the play, tossed me the game ball. Never had that happen to me before. Also, Colina and Silverio appear to have no idea how to recieve and react to throws from the outfield, this is a problem. The highlight of the game (dreadfully dull after four) was after a blown call to Botts (the first base umpire was atrocious today), a fan shouted, “GO OVER THERE AND SLAP HIM, HAROLD!” and Baines laughed hysterically. I had two great exchanges with Brandon Hynick and Ken Macha. Hynick was walking unnoticed by the fans until I shouted, “BRANDON! BRANDON HYNICK!” and instantly made him the most popular player on the team for a minute and a half. He came over, and I said, “Happy to have you out of Colorado."Ace of the Charlotte staff!” He grinned and said, “Happy to be here.” Next came, Ken Macha after the game, who grunted as I said, “Glad you’re in the National League, now I can root for you.” This was a lie, and then “I hope you beat the Cubs A LOT.” This was a fact. I got Chris Chambliss (really great guy) to come over and sign, leaving him with, “Have a great year in Charlotte” as a parting thought. Next, I got Trayce Thompson who was also easily ignored because his name actually isn’t listed on the active roster. He seems like a really great good, and apart from an Atrocious play in left, showed a really nice arm. Harold Baines, despite turning my father down in a hilarious fashion for a photo, was good enough to sign. Same with Greg Walker. The most impressive player I saw during my time there was Jordan Danks. Jordan is just a great guy smiling constantly, playing jokes on the other players (mostly Beckham), and talking to fans. I can’t wait to see him on the big show, and I wish him only the best. I had a great experience this spring, and look forward to doing it all again this year. I am sure you made Hynick's day. Funny your dad got rejected by Harold. He was willing to take a photo with me last spring!
  11. QUOTE (danman31 @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 10:44 PM) Don't jump the gun. The Trib is saying could miss the season and that a recovery timetable will be set after the surgery. And I have heard a best-case-scenerio is that he comes back around the ASB.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 13, 2010 -> 05:10 PM) He's channeling his inner Ozzie. 1 misspelling, and 1 uncertainty on a word definition. Gimmie a break!
  13. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Mar 13, 2010 -> 04:57 PM)
  14. QUOTE (knightni @ Mar 13, 2010 -> 04:38 PM) Damn straight. Crede was better in every faucet of the game.
  15. QUOTE (OsweGo-Go Sox @ Mar 13, 2010 -> 04:40 PM) I can't tell if this is a joke or not. No, it wasn't. I was 90% sure it meant disliked, but then when the topic said "this offseason", and Kotsay was included (who was not an offseason addition) I got confused. As for most disliked play, it is easily Linebrink for me.
  16. My dad got one for free, and he really likes it (it was free anyway). Can't remember the brand because it is an off-brand, but I personally don't like the netbooks unless you also have laptop for doing actual work. They are just so small and watered down IMO.
  17. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Mar 13, 2010 -> 04:33 PM) Everyone was so in love with MT when they started reading his tweets... I think he is a funny guy, and I like how down to earth he seems, but he is just not a very good ball player.
  18. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Mar 13, 2010 -> 04:29 PM) Mark Teahen GDIP to end the inning. Do you think if he doesn't start hitting come regular season, ESPY won't be tweeting as much? Probably. ESPY will probably just run away from home.
  19. http://insider.espn.go.com/mlb/blog?name=o...%26id%3d4991947 So who has insider and can post this story?
  20. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Mar 13, 2010 -> 04:04 PM) On fielding a slow dribbler at first, he just looked at the bag for awhile and tagged it at the very last second. Yep, he just stood there staring down the runner, then right as Millar lunged for the bag, he stepped on it, and the crowd erupted with boos.
  21. I believe Kotsay did it to Millar, and they were teammates for a couple years in Florida, so it's all gravy.
  22. Who did Kotsay just do that do? Former teammate, or just being a dick?
