  1. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Mar 13, 2010 -> 03:23 PM) Mark Teahen might be the coolest, s***ty player ever. Brian Anderson is in the running too.

  3. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Mar 13, 2010 -> 03:18 AM) Who cares? Jared Mitchell was a great prospect, other than his speed, to begin with. He's already shown a propensity to walk, he showed a bit power in college, and he's raw enough that he still has the ability to learn. He's f***ing fine. If he loses a year, is it really a huge deal? And if he regains his speed, then halle-f***ing-lujah. If not, who cares? He's still a LF/trading piece. He's still a good prospect. That was something else I was thinking too. At least this is not Jerry Owens we are talking about here where speed is his only strength. Mitchell can lose a step, but still be a 25 HR guy with a solid .380+ OBP, even if he can only steal 10-15 bases instead of 30+.
  4. Aww god damnit. This blows....... The only "positive" I can draw out of this is that it gives JorDanks more time to prove himself. He is less likely to get a quick hook and replaced by Mitchell.
  5. QUOTE (Stocking @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 07:27 PM) Cant embed, also NSFW. Rad Ome Awesome video.
  6. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 07:05 PM) Lucas Harrell starting. We are making up for the last game vs. them.
  7. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 06:55 PM) Someone commented after the article that he thinks he blew out his right knee . Said he heard it pop. I know its irresponsible to say that prematurely so TIFWIW. Oh god, please don't say that.
  8. So I can kill Lincecum, and now Verlander apparently. Maybe I am just getting better at hitting, but Verlander finished with 4 1/3 IP, 7 R, 10 H. I got a HR by Quentin, and 2 triples by AJ. Yes, 2 triples! (We are playing at Comerica, and he is killing that RCF gap.). I might win my first game ever! I am currently up 7-2 in the 5th.
  9. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 05:42 PM) My imac is lightening fast too. I tried to stream gigs of videos to my PS3 on my PC and it was completely bogged down and always had to be restarted, I had to restart it several times a day. You have a s***ty PC then. There are so many PCs that there are bound to be lemons, but there are also a lot of PCs that are superior and cheaper than Macs as well. You just have to know what you are looking for and don't just buy computers out of a flyer.
  10. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 05:23 PM) He's had a little issue with his calf and apparently couldn't find anyone to catch him this winter so he's a little behind. I can't imagine the White Sox wouldn't have been able to find someone for Jenks to throw to. For all the maturing this guy seems to be doing, it just shows he still has a ways to go. Yeah, seems like no excuse to me. Go to any college, and I bet those players would be lining up to catch a major league closer.
  11. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 05:25 PM) I have simmed a couple of times. What I've noticed. I can't hit a weak slider or changeup, but if a slider has some serious bite, I can knock it out of the park, opposite field almost every time. After ending my first year in AA(which I got called up to AAA, back down to AA, then back up to AAA) the only team to offer me a contract was my current team, the Tigers for a 1 year 80,000 deal. That's wack! Now, I'm just barely meeting my goals, and then dumping all my resources into contact and power. Quick question, why is it that my team wants me to work on hitting lefties more than righties even though my contact and power are 8 points higher(and counting) than hitting righties. Also, it sucks that I put 1B as my second position because now the Tigers are keeping me there at the AAA level even though I'm a better fielder at 3B. Also I still can't keep up for the most part with AAA pitching. Sliders are my bread and butter (when I am expecting them). Change-ups and curveballs kill me.
  12. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 04:50 PM) I'm saying it was their .mp3-like format that was unique to them. The .AAC format is considerably less used than the .mp3 format, and it's not even close. I mean, you are talking E-85 ethanol vs. unleaded gasoline.
  13. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 04:59 PM) ZuneHD 32gb: $248.54 ITouch 32 GB: $267.99 Itouch has access to thousands more applications that the Zune doesnt, which is huge for me as I use it as an entertainment device, not just one that plays music. More apps is the only thing I can find that the iTouch has an advantage over the Zune HD. The Zune has HD Radio, HD screen, and wireless syncing, all things the iTouch does not have.
  14. QUOTE (earthshiner @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 04:56 PM) why does the box score say Freddy Garcia is playing 2b? I thought the same thing. Haha.
  15. QUOTE (OsweGo-Go Sox @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 04:31 PM) This happened two and a half hours ago. First inning. I know, but Cowley didn't say it hit him back in the first inning he said "Peavy almost blasted by a comebacker." Would have been important for him to tell us he actually got hit. Merk didn't mention it either.
  16. Now Cowley is saying that Peavy got blasted by a comeback earlier in the game by Torri Mr. Racist Hunter? Ugh.
  17. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 04:19 PM) That would be part 2 of Apple's world domination plan: Itunes. Everyone bought an Ipod, Apple went exclusive with its .mp3 format, the music industry was forced to buy into it, everyone went through years of buying their music through it, and even though competitors slowly started to make better products, the fact is everyone already had lots of $$ invested in music that is only playable through Apple products. Now you can get drm free Itunes music, but none of the old stuff you bought is transferable. But that's assuming those products are equal or better than the Ipod/Itouch/Iphone/Ipad, which IMO, they just aren't. Apple makes their products fun to use. Mac's on the other hand are just annoying to use as a daily PC. How was .mp3 an exclusive format? Are you thinking of .AAC?
  18. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 04:02 PM) I dont have an itouch, I dont need that much functionality. I would say integration into itunes is probably the biggest gripe i have, its also not as user friendly. I have a much easier time transferring files, movies songs and whatnot onto my ipod than on my zune, which is why i dont use it anymore. Most companies that develop applications to even move files usually develop them for the ipod first. It has wireless sync, what can be easier than that?
  19. QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 04:05 PM) No, it really didn't. It caught on because it was an incredibly superior product. The first iPod was introduced on October of 2001. Do you think anyone cared about their ads in 2001? Maybe you thought it was superior back then, but it's certainly up for debate now, as they are plenty of competitors with products just as good, for a cheaper price, but just are not as popular.
  20. QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 03:54 PM) I'm sorry, but I was one of the people who resisted the advertising for the very reasons you mention. Then I got tired of the crappy alternatives and was instantly shocked at how easy, reliable, and intuitive the iPod was. The advertising doesn't hurt, but the product is genuinely superior in almost every way. Apple was a nothing company before they created the iPod. Do you think it caught on through advertising? Yes, it did catch on through advertising, definitely. I am not saying the iPods are not quality products, they are, but they are not worth what they cost.
  21. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 03:49 PM) Well, the touch is much more than an mp3 player, I view it as a portable media device, as I can go on the internet, play games, etc. And if you want to compare prices, the Zune is about the same price, while lacking alot of what a touch offers (both are very good at certain things though). What does the Zune lack that the iTouch has? And the Zune costs $177 for 16 GB And the Itouch costs $181 for the 8 GB
  22. QUOTE (HeGone33 @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 03:45 PM) Have you been simulating a portion of the season? I'm getting really tired of the loading between career events. Nope, I have not simmed at all. I only made like 25 starts last year.
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 03:41 PM) His calf was also supposedly sore the other day too. He should stop pitching with his calf then.
  24. QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 03:36 PM) I used to think this same way....and then I bought just one of their products. Why do you think they OWN the mp3 market if they don't make the best device? Because they market the hell out of their products. How many other mp3 players do you ever see advertised? The Microsoft Zune is the only other one I have ever seen advertised, and not even CLOSE to the advertising apple does. You know they advertise a s***load when you hear people saying "iPods are the best, and mp3 players suck!" I just facepalm and punch them in the face for being so ignorant. Ask friends and family and I bet you 80% of them think an ipod and an mp3 player are two different things. Apple spends so much money is ads that people actually think an mp3 player is different from an ipod.
