  1. By the way, Mark. If you're reading this, don't do the full-page ad in the Tribune to thank the fans. It's cliche. We're all good.
  2. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 06:56 PM) All I can say is that one would hope Hahn has been a driver of some of these decisions as well. So we should promote Hahn? Some of you guys are just complaining to complain. The players have not lived up to their end of the bargain by a long shot, remember that too. At some point you just have to look at the overall results... 2 playoff appearances in 11 years in this division, in this market, is horrible. And considering the drama of the last few years with his manager, and no farm system to speak of, he should have been fired too.
  3. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 04:13 PM) My favorite pitcher, ever. I love Mark Buehrle so much. I'm looking forward to seeing #56 retired and his statue erected. He will get his number retired, but I hope they don't pull a Baines and do it while he's playing. It's one of those things....don't give 56 to anyone else, but don't retire it until he retires himself.
  4. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 03:56 PM) With Buehrle signed and Wilson soon to follow, Danks should be traded soon. Could be, but throw in the Gio Gonzalez trade to happen before Danks.
  5. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 03:52 PM) 4 years $58 million I had the signing day and the terms right. Wrong team though. Happy for Buehrle. Good luck.
  6. It would be nice if the Dbacks, Angels, or Giants wanted Konerko and had something to give. I would think he would accept a trade out there.
  7. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 02:32 PM) I saw that, too. What does anyone know about Red Sox prospects? I don't think they have great pitching prospects. I looked at some of their minor league stats yesterday, and Brandon Workman and Keith Couch had good seasons at A-ball, but I don't know if they're legit prospects.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 02:13 PM) Jon_Heyman Jon Heyman Cj wilson has 6-yr offer from #marlins, says tom verducci of @MLBNetwork. Could be new favorite. Good. I'd rather see Buehrle go to the Nats than the Marlins.
  9. Surprised Quentin didn't get moved by now. I would have thought that was Winter Meetings move for sure. Maybe teams aren't willing to give up much for a guy that won't play more than 120 games.
  10. Tigers trying to get Gio. Wouldn't that be grand. http://twitter.com/#!/susanslusser/sta...290456572919808
  11. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 02:09 PM) Something makes no sense here... Jays are fielding calls on Drabek so they'll need pitching to comeup, trading you're #2 prospect for a closer I just don't get it. That shows you the sox weren't too high on Santos or Kenny sold really high and fleeced the jays, or the other way around. I'm thinking sale is your closer now Not happening. He's a starter all the way next year. I think Reed will get a long look, and if not, Crain.
  12. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 01:56 PM) Like most trades you have to wait a few years to see how it all works out. Where does Molina start next? AA or AAA? He only had a handful of starts last year at AA, and it's considered more of a prospect level, so I would assume he's at B'ham for at least a half year (trade deadline callup).
  13. Atlanta writer is saying the Thornton to Braves deal isn't happening. We'll see.
  14. If this Thornton to braves thing happens, I hope Quentin is in a package deal to actually get something good back.
  15. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 12:53 PM) Thornton is not going anywhere now. Uhhhh, wanna bet?
  16. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 12:06 PM) Jhan Ramirez will probably be in the mix as well. Jhan Marinez
  17. Gotta love the walk/K numbers on Molina. Like it.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 10:45 AM) I could see KW falling in love with Gary Brown's speed and potential as leadoff hitter. Giants did trade their top pitching prospect last year for Beltran (Wheeler). Funny you should bring him up. I just heard an interview with him a few days ago on KNBR. First off, he sounds like a great guy. Then I watched a youtube video, and he can fly, but he did make some bad routes in the outfield.
  19. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 10:41 AM) The Giants are very interested in Quentin and Alexei... The japanese shortstop Nakajima may be on the Giants radar. They will probably announce who won the posting tomorrow.
  20. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 10:19 AM) Something.....happen.....White Sox.....zzz..zzzzzzzZZzzzzz The crystal ball says a trade will be announced between 2 and 3 today.
  21. Ok, then....back to the Nationals being the front-runners for Buehrle.
  22. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Dec 5, 2011 -> 08:41 PM) The Rangers are very interested in MB according to recent reports. 6 years to CJ Wilson is quite ridiculous imo. Yeah, Rangers may offer him something he can't refuse, but I have to think he would prefer an NL team. If it comes down to the Sox and Rangers offering three year deals, then he'll be back.
  23. Good news for the fans that want Buehrle back at any cost... The Nationals offered Wilson six years. If he takes that, and the Marlins don't offer Buehrle a no-trade clause, it could be good for his chances to return. I wonder if Buehrle would then wait out the Pujols/Cardinals saga. If Pujols leaves, then the Cards may do some other stuff to open room for Buehrle. Not likely, but not impossible.
  24. Kenny is there. Thanks for showing up 24 hours late.
