QUOTE (pktmotion @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 10:42 AM) Danks and Konerko will be traded to the Rangers. If you said Danks and Thornton, I would have bought that.
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 10:02 AM) The Rays told me to tell you to not forget about them. Ok, I'll give you that. Well over .500 teams next year...NY, Bos, TB, Det, LAA, Tex A couple teams around .500---Toronto, maybe KC or Cle. The rest...garbage.

So to preview the 2012 AL playoffs... Yankees, Tigers, Angels division winners Rangers vs Red Sox in the wildcard game (if they do it)

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 09:40 AM) JJStankevitz JJ Stankevitz Damn. That really is. RT @ChrisSpurlock @JJStankevitz Yeah. He'll put in equal time in Cards/Angels uniforms. So weird. So it's an 11-year deal? 2001-2011...that's 11 seasons.

Blessing in disguise for the Cardinals. They dodged a long-term bullet, in my opinion.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 09:16 AM) But its OK, we protected f***ing Duente Heath. And not Doyle. Everyone else can b**** about the return for Santos, but to me, THIS was a f***-up. Can someone, anyone, tell me why Duente Heath was worth a 40-man slot, while Terry Doyle was not? Especially with the Sox sitting at 36 on the 40-man. I just don't get it.
-
Sox don't take anyone in the Rule 5. Only 12 players taken in the major league phase. Doyle was the only Sox player lost so far.
-
Twins take Terry Doyle with the 2nd pick in the Rule 5. Nice job, Kenny.
-
Unless Beckham requested to leave, I don't think you do it for another year. I want him to have at least one year with Ventura and Manto.
-
By the way, Mark. If you're reading this, don't do the full-page ad in the Tribune to thank the fans. It's cliche. We're all good.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 06:56 PM) All I can say is that one would hope Hahn has been a driver of some of these decisions as well. So we should promote Hahn? Some of you guys are just complaining to complain. The players have not lived up to their end of the bargain by a long shot, remember that too. At some point you just have to look at the overall results... 2 playoff appearances in 11 years in this division, in this market, is horrible. And considering the drama of the last few years with his manager, and no farm system to speak of, he should have been fired too.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 04:13 PM) My favorite pitcher, ever. I love Mark Buehrle so much. I'm looking forward to seeing #56 retired and his statue erected. He will get his number retired, but I hope they don't pull a Baines and do it while he's playing. It's one of those things....don't give 56 to anyone else, but don't retire it until he retires himself.

QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 03:56 PM) With Buehrle signed and Wilson soon to follow, Danks should be traded soon. Could be, but throw in the Gio Gonzalez trade to happen before Danks.
-
QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 03:52 PM) 4 years $58 million I had the signing day and the terms right. Wrong team though. Happy for Buehrle. Good luck.
-
It would be nice if the Dbacks, Angels, or Giants wanted Konerko and had something to give. I would think he would accept a trade out there.
-
QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 02:32 PM) I saw that, too. What does anyone know about Red Sox prospects? I don't think they have great pitching prospects. I looked at some of their minor league stats yesterday, and Brandon Workman and Keith Couch had good seasons at A-ball, but I don't know if they're legit prospects.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 02:13 PM) Jon_Heyman Jon Heyman Cj wilson has 6-yr offer from #marlins, says tom verducci of @MLBNetwork. Could be new favorite. Good. I'd rather see Buehrle go to the Nats than the Marlins.

Surprised Quentin didn't get moved by now. I would have thought that was Winter Meetings move for sure. Maybe teams aren't willing to give up much for a guy that won't play more than 120 games.
-
Tigers trying to get Gio. Wouldn't that be grand. http://twitter.com/#!/susanslusser/sta...290456572919808

QUOTE (JoshPR @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 02:09 PM) Something makes no sense here... Jays are fielding calls on Drabek so they'll need pitching to comeup, trading you're #2 prospect for a closer I just don't get it. That shows you the sox weren't too high on Santos or Kenny sold really high and fleeced the jays, or the other way around. I'm thinking sale is your closer now Not happening. He's a starter all the way next year. I think Reed will get a long look, and if not, Crain.
-
QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 01:56 PM) Like most trades you have to wait a few years to see how it all works out. Where does Molina start next? AA or AAA? He only had a handful of starts last year at AA, and it's considered more of a prospect level, so I would assume he's at B'ham for at least a half year (trade deadline callup).
-
Atlanta writer is saying the Thornton to Braves deal isn't happening. We'll see.
-
If this Thornton to braves thing happens, I hope Quentin is in a package deal to actually get something good back.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 12:53 PM) Thornton is not going anywhere now. Uhhhh, wanna bet?
