2010 AL Central Catch-All
It wouldn't surprise me if the Sox were 9 or 11 games under .500 at the end of May, and the Twins were 16 games over .500. That would put the Sox around 12-13 games back on June 1. That would seal it. QUOTE (fathom @ May 5, 2010 -> 02:54 PM) It's crazy to think what the situation could be after next weekend.

Ozzie doesn't make that decision. If Kenny wants Vizquel gone, he will be.

2010 AL Central Catch-All
Nobody is denying that some deficits have been overcome in the history of baseball. For the most part, getting buried in the first 30 games of the season just means you're a bad team. If the Sox are going to rebound, now is the time...May and June. They have a very tough schedule in the second half. The Sox have 61 games until the Break. They either have to go 39-22, or the season is probably over, because there is no way they'll be more than 10 games over in the second half.

2010 AL Central Catch-All
A couple examples of teams overcoming a deficit doesn't mean much now. What's happening now, pretty much means the Twins are a good team and the Sox are a bad team. Like I said, they need to get red hot right now. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 5, 2010 -> 01:42 PM) On May 20th, 2005, the Indians were a season low 6 games under .500, 17-23, and 12 games back. On May 27th 2005, the Astros were 16-31, 15 games under and 15 games out.

Twins on top 5-2 in the 4th. They will be 10 games over .500 with a win. But Gordon Beckham think it's a good thing the Sox are only 6 games out...now 7, and probably 7.5. This season will be over in a couple weeks, unless the Sox get red hot right now.

27 games (1/6 of the season) in the books for the Twins, Tigers, and Sox. Let's compare: Twins 18-9 Starting pitchers: 15-7 Quality starts: 16 Quality start record: 14-2 Team ERA: 3.64 RS: 144 RA: 102 Diff: +42 Tigers 16-11 Starting pitchers: 7-8 Quality starts: 11 Quality start record: 6-5 Team ERA: 4.29 RS: 132 RA: 126 Diff: +6 White Sox 11-16 Starting pitchers: 7-11 Quality starts: 12 Quality start record: 7-5 Team ERA: 4.84 RS: 109 RA: 137 Diff: -28 The Twins are dominating this division in every facet of the game. The Tigers are probably lucky to be 16-12 right now. And the Sox are horrible.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
If anyone went to the game is reading this, what were people booing about in the 3rd inning? Good fight?

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
Jake was great. I hope he has turned the corner and won't look back. Mark Kotsay is worthless as a starting player. Maybe Ozzie will realize this some day. And if he does have to start because of an injury, it won't be any higher than 7 in the lineup.

QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 30, 2010 -> 10:20 PM) oh and in case you're all wondering, yankees fans are cocksuckers. was at the game, and they were yelling RIIIIOOOOS YOU SUCK! over. and over. and over. and over. not to mention verbally abusing basically everyone not wearing yankees garb. and en masse. usually yeah ok fine that happens to an extent. but damn it's crazy out here. and to think i was so excited those first 2 innings... ugh.

There's a lot of hitters in tonight's lineup that have success against Pettitte. Pierre is 7-15.

If you're KW, who's on your BIG BOARD to replace Ozzie?
I'll take a boring manager if he makes the right moves. Mike Scioscia and Ron Gardenhire aren't exactly exciting people, but they can manage circles around Ozzie Guillen.

If you're KW, who's on your BIG BOARD to replace Ozzie?
If Ozzie goes, I don't want anyone from the current coaching staff. I also don't think Coop would be good with the press. He'd be like Piniella, only worse. Mattingly is replacing Torre. That's a done deal. Truthfully, Bob Brenly would be an interesting candidate.

White Sox @ Rangers
There's a difference between negativity and being realistic. It would be negative to say Peavy is going to lose 15 games and AJ is going to hit .210 this year. It's realistic to say this roster can't match up with Minnesota. It would take a few more major injuries for the Twins not to be a 90-win team. The Sox will not get there.

I'm no scout, I won't pretend to be. But his motion has always scared me. His arm goes way back, and then he seems to throw across his body. Have real scouts mentioned this and voiced a similar concern?
