Birmingham and Kannapolis rained out. Charlotte in a rain delay. Winston-Salem..eh who cares?
  3. I just think if the fans know going in that hands have to stay away from the field of play, it would prevent a lot of headaches. It seems on plays like that, they interfere more times than not.
  4. Fun win. I have one suggestion for the White Sox--how about just not allowing reaching over the rail under ANY circumstance. Obvious foul ball, slow rollers to the rail...anything. That fan could have meant a loss. Just let the security people down the lines get them and hand them to a kid.
  5. Peavy is going to be on White Sox Weekly sometime in the next couple hours on The Score. I guess he and Coop were working on his arm angle, and they think they've figured something out. We'll see. Also--I don't know anyone else mentioned this...Harold Reynolds noticed that he's flinching after he throws the ball because of the comebackers he's had..once in the rehab start last year, and once in spring training from Torii Hunter. It's causing him not to finish off his pitches. I though it was interesting. Not sure if it's a real thing, but I hadn't heard anyone else point that out.
  6. I like lamp.
  7. I don't blame anyone for that. I think there was a lot to be optimistic about going into this season. The fact of the matter is that the Twins are good, and at best, the Sox will be mediocre. Hopefully after they realize it's not going to happen this season, they'll get rid of some old, tired names, and actually start the new decade with some renewed energy. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Apr 22, 2010 -> 09:35 PM) i really overestimated this teams ability.
  8. Thompson is 19 years old. One level per year would be great.
  9. Milton Bradley would be the icing on the cake on this lousy team.
  10. This is the last game of an 11-day road trip for the Rays. All Peavy had to do is throw strikes.
  11. Another great start for Nevin Griffith. In progress: 7 inn 3 hits 0 runs 2 bb 5 k
  12. Bad start for Hudson. 4.1 inn 7 hits 8 runs 4 earned (error by Lillibridge) 4 bb 2 k 1 hr
  13. The Dash--what a dumb f***ing name for a baseball team. And yes, I know what it means. Still dumb.
  14. I'm sure there's a stat out there somewhere. Let's see some data on facing pitchers for the first time. Ranger, don't you have some connections at fangraphs or John Dewan or somebody?
  15. The only time winning series matters is in the postseason. Stack some wins. Play good baseball.
  16. Buehrle's play on opening day. All down hill from there.
  17. Beckham may want to change up that song. Do something.
  18. It just feels like this whole organization is in disarray. Like the whole 05 crew needs to be purged, and start fresh.
  19. And it won't mean anything. This team is going to be a .500 team at best, and that's unacceptabole for their payroll. Meanwhile, the Twins are winning every series, beating the bad teams in the division. Quality GM, manager, lineup, rotation, bullpen, and bench. They are the class of the division, and that's a fact. It's sad to say, but it's true. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 21, 2010 -> 08:30 PM) and if they win tomorrow they take the series from the best team in the AL right now
  20. I'm done caring. There's a quality major league team in Minnesota going to the playoffs this year. And there's a mismatched bunch of veterans led by an idiot manager, playing bad baseball on the south side of Chicago. When Reinsdorf allows things to be fixed, I'll start caring again.
  21. I really want to see a Beckham game tonight. A good, solid, 3-4, double, 2 RBIs, 2 runs. Nothing fancy.
  22. Maybe, but from what I can tell, Tom Ricketts likes Hendry...for now. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Apr 21, 2010 -> 03:59 PM) Mark my words. When Jim Hendry is fired at the end of this year, Rick Hahn will be the Cubs new GM.
